the biggest reason its so forgotten is because it used to do 25 minimum damage all ranges and after they nerfed it down to 24 no one uses it anymore which is sad because its a great weapon although i think it should at least have a torso multi so you can still hit those long 4 hit kills
As a current l85a2 main i kind of disagree. The gun itself is a bit over-performing in my opinion. Yeah its niche is that it use to 4 shot all ranges which was nerf but it still has the ability to 4 shot at 180 studs and AP is still a direct upgrade to it giving it a 1.8 studs of pen which is very high for a assault rifle. A 180 stud 4 shot is insane for a gun that has THAT low of a recoil and no other gun can be comparable with it other than the stoner but that has 150 rpm less so its not better in close range. In fact the recoil is so low a Muzzle Booster with a Romanian grip still has recoil similar if not better than the HAMR and Stoner with the best setups on them while also having more rpm than the g36 which is a gun used because of its 145 stud 4 shot kill. The gun makes 360 studs feel like your are using a hk21 on a enemy 30 studs away and if the c7a2’s 6 shot pass 170 studs is fine then this with a 5 shot with similar if not better recoil than it makes it just a better than the c7
A torso multi on a already over-performing is not a good idea. I love the gun but i don’t want it to be buffed nor nerfed.
Yeah i use the gun for long rang like 300 200 500 suds even but when they added out the 4 hit. The gun is meant for really long range but now that it got nerded it’s mean for close range. To this day it’s was my most use gun because I was always in battles over 200 suds away. That’s why I use the scar l now because it four shots at all ranges
It used to be my main gun for a while, but I quit using it after stylis started nerfing everything. It used to be a 4 shot all ranges all over the body, and you could use AP with no downsides. They nerfed the G36 back then too, but I generally used the L85A2 more. It used to be the meta but after everything got nerfed M16A3 took over **sigh**

The colt smg can be no recoil if you only hipfire with the vertical grip and muzzle brake. Anything can be no recoil if you wish hard enough and consume enough blue shiny cute little crystals
it's insanely fun on hipfire
i'd rather pair it with a long barrel or an osprey suppressor tho
With the blueprints, you can change the name when editing the blueprint. Other people cant see it, but do with this as you will :)
At 0:55, yeah...the AK12BR fires the same bullet as the mosin, yet it has the same overall stats as the other BRs, besides the HCAR.
I think the L85 is that underused bcs the L22 just overshadows it. It the same gun but better in every single way, except on ranges(its a fking carbine, don't complain about it) and, maybe, the recoil

One of the better assault rifles in the game IMO. If you liked the AUG A1 then you’ll like this as the stats are very similar. The L85A2 can actually 4 shot to the torso/limbs out to 150 studs, so it’s REALLY good at mid-long range considering its insanely beamy recoil.

Finally, my boy L8 get some attention. I play it all the times, just to have fun with no-recoil setup. Comp Aimpoint, Muzzle Brake, Stubby Grip, Tri-Laser, Default Ammo Type, truly a laser-beam assault rifle.

I really love the L85! It's recoil before was kinda like an Aug's. If anything, the L85 is just a British AUG.

Romanian and muzzle brake should be the lowest recoil for L85
As a British army vet I can confirm the L85A2 has much more rightward recoil and is extremely inaccurate at more than 650ish meters
Another forgotten weapon is the SCAR PDW. I haven't seen many people use it at all. I used to run a setup that used to be my bread and butter until I upgraded it to 7.62 with different attachments.

In terms of shots to kill, the l85 is completely fine. In terms of ars the only break points that you need to remember is 34 damage for garuntee 3 shot, 25 for 4 shot and 20 for 5 shot. This means that the l85 is very generic as an ar with 4 shot close range with 5 shots long range. Its the same as the m16a3 which is considered the "meta" even without hollow point.
The initial recoil is pretty extreme but it settles very fast making it rather easy to control but this is a trend among many rifles such as the ak74. The only reason why i PERSONALLY, not the universal reason but personally, don't use it is because its just that mid. The ak74 practically beats it out in both ttk and recoil (arguable depending on the loadout). The m16a3 can do what it does but with a faster ttk and slightly worse recoil (once again, arguable depending on the setup). There is even the aug a3 that i don't see enough of which does practically everything better. 20 more rpm, 3 shot anywhere close range and 5 shots long range, stupid low recoil pretty much no matter how bad the build. The l85 is stuck in a position where it is outshone in every regard. The consistancy of a 4 shot to 60 studs is not enough to keep people using it, especially when, once again, the ak74 exists. Not only that but the m16 offers a 4 shot kill up to 80 studs. Im rambling at this point but im just pointing it out.
TLDR low recoil and 4 shot up to 60 studs is not enough to encourage people to use it when other guns outshine it in one or more of those aspects to the point of irrelevance.
Honestly I like to use the Famas F1 With eotech 552 red laser stubby grip and compensator and it has a lot of recoil but is still good.

i feel like low recoil takes more skill than high recoil cuz you dont even need to aim with high recoil
I use the l85a2 is good imo, I use it here and there and doesn't disappoint if used right.

L85 is aight, I'd prefer literally anything else, all that the L85 has is just the low recoil with below average. If it had the 25 min damage again or something else then perhaps it will be better.

I personally dont mind if laser beam guns are a thing. My problem is when they have more advantages then those with higher requirements of control. Like why are laser like guns able to punch threw cover on most maps but a lot of the nutty recoil guns cant? I can get mowed threw a wall and cant fire back till I get to a space sometimes where there is a clearing. Its just subjective and crazy as some guns basically became meta due to a combo of low recoil, fair damage, and fair fire rait. Everyones perspective is different on how to lay it out but most of the 5.56 guns are just laser beams and for some reason have more pen then stuff like the AKM on most maps lol
Where I complain a lot is the people who shit talk while using said guns a lot, and there are a lot of the shit talkers, they cry when they die and shit talk when they kill you endlessly. It tends to lead to "The idiots that use no recoil guns are just brainless idiots with keyboards" mentality thus it leads to a whole headache of itself. So basically the guns are picked on because of the low IQ player base that tends to lean on them. Look at machinegun users as a key example, half the MGS in the game arnt that bad, but they are drastically hated for the wall pen and high mags to murder a sight line thats a basic choke point and people shit talk for camping a cheese spot.
I like to use Battle Rifles personally, I over compensate for recoil too much and cant hit mark if its a laser beam lol. So Its understandable for people to be out classed at times by specific conditions since most battle rifles have high dmg and pen, but have the issue of control capability on a lot of the weapons.
