- Join me on a street photography walk around Gwangjang Market in Seoul as I re-discover the joy of shooting cheap gear with a $69 manual focus 35mm f1.4 lens, paired to my Fujifilm X-S10.
Although cheap lenses sacrifice quality in certain areas, they can be a vital experience in your photography journey, as they teach you to slow down and learn new techniques. Despite its bargain price tag, I was pleasantly surprised at how this lens held its own in a popular Seoul photography location known for its vibrant colors and scenes.
Through this POV video, I hope to demonstrate how limiting yourself to inexpensive gear can encourage creativity and getting closer to everyday moments rather than worrying about technical specs.

Really enjoyed watching this POV! Insightful stuff and great images 👌🔥
That's very kind of you, thank you! 🙏🏽
Great shots! I'm curious about if you're worried about S. Korea's portrait rights laws? I've heard they're strict over there.
Living in SK. It's very unlikely that someone would take you to court here over that. Unless you're being really obnoxious about it.
Thanks for the comment! Ideally I’d like to do a full video on this topic but from what I understand, photography in public places, especially like markets, is above board, although if people object it’s always better not to resist.
In fact my intro into the Fujifilm ecosystem was a Fujifilm X-E1 (way cheaper 7 yrs ago, than now!) and a 16-50 OIS II, which I still use today because it's so cheap (broken?- oh, doesn't matter) and it's also lightweight and compact!
For $69 I think I'd sooner try to find a vintage FD lens or something similar with an adapter.
Good shout for more experienced shooters, but for beginners I reckon a cheap native mount lens is still the better option!
beautiful shots myfriend.
Thank you! Cheers!
Thanks for recommending a cheap lens :) Greetings from Germany! ... By your - neglectible - accent I first thought you are from Germany, too!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
I do have some German blood somewhere along the line! 😁
붕어빵…😍
Good job
Thank you!
