Love your explanation of each product. I am a new lawn care person. I have Zoysia grass. Over the years, my lawn was beautiful. The last several years not so great. I am dealing with some bare spots in my front yard. I need to make time to correct it. I have 2 fur babies and need something I can use on the lawn.
I go with that Spectricide pre emergent on a regular schedule. 1st bag went down around Jan 1st... temps starting getting warm in Feb so I put another bag down in early March. 3rd bag goes down around Memorial Day. Don't know if I'll do a fall bag or not. Might need to do a dethatching and overseeding in Sept. Also, I'm trying to boost up my lawn so next year I don't need as much weed product so I'm slowly doing a granular and liquid fertilizing rotation as my lawn wakes up. Probably start going a bit heavier from Mid April to mid June then it'll be too hot. Big box stores are stealing people's money with these "all-in-one" lawn care bags. Separate that ish, people!!!! I had a bag of bioadvanced 5 in 1 in my shed, so after renovating my back & front yard last year, my plan this year was to use it as a preemergent, but still use spectricide hose end sprayer in mid May when some weeds come out. I used the Spectracide hose end last year on my back yard, bc it was more established, used it twice in a week span, didn't see much weeds throughout the whole summer.
I laid down some lesco 0-0-7 a few weeks ago in ny when we had 4-5 days of 60s and 65 degree weather, now we are back down to colder Temps. Hope I'll be good and not see any weeds this spring and summer 🤞keeping my fingers crossed 😂

If you're planning to overseed then skip this pre emergent step. The pre emergent will stop germination. But if you weren't overseeding then that schedule would be perfect.

Hey I was checking for your video, but I jumped maybe too soon. This past week I dethatched, put down a Scott's 3X turbuilder thats 40-0-5,, and some pelletized lime. I'm on Long Island. I was planning to use Mesotrione as a pre emergent in the next week or so in April, but now I'm concerned about the 40 nitrogen being too much this early in the spring. Any suggestions should I use the Mesotrione or the Weedex? Thanks in advance for all answers

Don't apply seed after pre emergent. If you plan to overseed, do the overseed first and make sure the grass establishes a strong root system first then but down the pre emergent.
You can use the spectracide weed stop for lawns spray I showed in the video. That'll wipe out weeds that already have germinated depending on what weed it is.

Sounds like you should over seed the lawn and put down a starter fertilizer I recommend checking out Scott's built for seed fertilizer

I wouldn’t worry too much! As long as you’re cool with mowing often. I just put down some 30 and half a rate of triple 19 3 weeks apart.

Eventually it will once the lawn gets thick enough it'll be able to fight off weeds on its own

post emergent. Weed Stop makes some good sprays safe for the lawn
