This is the greatest deadbeat dad diss track of all time.
Only NBA star turned rapper to go platinum
Platinum. U sure? Lol
Does Master P count?
@@debacle8287 Yup, platinum.
@@bravo915 Nope he wasn't in the league long enough lol
@@bravo915 Master P never made the NBA, I believe he played for the summer league and preseason team
This song is a shout out to all the real men who stepped up in place of the deadbeats.Any clown can be a father but it takes a true soul to be a Dad.
Weird how so many of these people are deadbeats
@@jasonmaguire7552 "these people" what people are you referring to?
Not the step father but the father that stepped up
I mean...true but genericly stated tbh.
Sometimes i want to save kittens and babies from a burning building just to tell the news I'm not a hero...I just did the right thing. Made be true... But certainly not an original idea how it was written. 🤣
In other news, fire is hot, grass is green, sky is blue..I uh...forgot my point...so uh..thank you, DAD🥰🦸🦸🦸🦸🦸🦸🤾

This song had me when it came out. My step dad took me in and didnt let go. Thanks James Isaac RIP 2006 Much love
You're shaq's doppelganger!! At least from the tiny little profile pic

Its harder to be a step father then a real father RIP Philip Harrison
Speak, I do it and I love mine as their all my biological
Eric Tolbert Bruh you a herb. Wait for that moment when the lil bastard be like "FUCK YOU ERIC! YOU'RE NOT MY REAL DAD!". That shit ginna hurt lol.
No shame in that game.
He is his real father, not biological but still his real father. His biological "father" was just a sperm donor.
100% brother
This has a “dear mama” vibe to it
Tommy Brumfield but dead beat father twist
Word.
No it dear dad
Only og knows “dear mama”
@Braze The Daze Warren G made this beat, not Johnny J.
I still don’t understand how this real song with such a reality in it is not trending everyday. It is a true story song.
“You want me, you gotta take my son, or else it’s hotdog without the bun” DAYYYYYUM😅
Just too much info
Shaq I dedicate this song to my son whose biological didnt bother! So i stepped in and now im daddy and hes so happy!
Amen sir. May you and your son be blessed and thank you from a biological that will go to the ends of earth and back for my son's.
Ryan Applequist as a "biological" you should feel disrespected by this. These women got yall in some panties.
I shared this song on this day happy fathers day to all step dads
Eww.
This is a really weird pat on the back ya gave yourself maybe not. Idk. Do you brag about wiping your own ass at job interviews? I think you do tbh🤷🤣🙄🤫
🏃💨
🤡
🤦
Without Sergeant Harrison there will be no Shaquille O'Neal today
Rap with a positive message..... Especially at a time when gangster rap was king

Keep liking this comment I keep coming back to watch this memorable jam we slammed all day with my elder brothers….
dude shaq was owning the 90s.. one of the greatest basketball players ever, great rapper, great video game, and great movies.
You reaching too hard at the end
Ion know about the movies and games 😂
Shaq fu was one of the worst video games ever made
Well Blue Chips was a good movie but the rest of his movies well pretty bad. And the least said about Shaq Fu the better. Although the new Shaq Fu is pretty good :)
nah man the cheesyness of the shaq movies and games is what makes them good
Mad respect shaq showing a real man respect
whose watchin this in 2019 with me....thanks for the good quality upload 👏👏
I dedicate this to my grandfather, who even wasn't my biological grandfather . This was my grandmother's second husband . He never had any children by his first wife. So when he met my grandmother she had my mother and later our mother had my sister and I. She was a Teen Mom. So my pop pop is the only pop pop I've ever known. He helped raise me and my sister and showed us what a real marriage is between a man and a woman who truly love and respect each other. And he loved my mother as if she were his own daughter. He passed away in 1999, and we truly miss him, and the funny thing is my grandfather always encouraged me to stay positive about my father and to forgive him. Which played a large role later in life even though my grandfather passed away in 1999 my biological father wind up back into my life in 2002 and giving me away when I got married in 2005 and I named my youngest son after my pop pop. I had 10 good years with my biological father before he passed 2012. It's so true that God works in mysterious ways. Rest in peace, Ronald deal 😢❤
#Mymalerolemodel
Damn i had to be 10 years old when this Came out
Shaq was a legitimate rapper. Best athlete rapper ever
Master P exists
Still pick Kobe.
It make me sad for the passionless current state of music contrived using drugs
@@jackhazardous4008 Sounds like a personal problem. You're paying attention to the wrong artists. J Cole doesn't do drugs nor does he rap about drugs (same goes for Nas). These are rappers who recently released albums as well. There are many more like them
@@bobmarley4272 I'm paying attention to the music they play on the radio
I grew up on this; It's because of this song, I made sure I was in my son's life... thanks shaq
czcams.com/video/ycjHtRkMmHA/video.htmlsi=p3h8abz_teQpiMue
I like this song too because it showed the big difference between a father and a dad
Christopher Neal SAME THING
Team Valor Gaming no it's not any man can father a baby but it take a real man to be dad
Christopher Neal if I get a girl pregnant then Im the dad FUCKING PERIOD
Team Valor Gaming okay and if you father of a child and you're not in that child's life and another man could step up to the plate to do your job what you think that child going to call that other man the term father and dad is similar but not exactly the same
Christopher Neal that kid would still consider him his dad but THE FATHER IS THE FATHER
I remember when his biological father came on the Ricky lake show. And Shaq gave him the business...L❤ve this song💪🏿❤💯
I'm helping raise 3 kids including my own daughter I hope they feel da same about me as they get older I love those munchkins more than anything
Rico White word up Rico
They will love and appreciate more than him.
This actually goes so hard
I've met Shaq twice. He's a very nice guy and Phil did a great job raising him.
"What people do for monaaaayyyyyyy" I used to love that part lol
LOL, YES! 😂😂😂
😂😁
I just played this song for my little sister(25)....I told her the 90's was the best era and she agreed, I'm 44 and it's hard to listen to a lot of this new age music.... everything sounds robotic.....keep my music soulful and emotional always 🤗
No son the eighties was the best
Just found this song wow 🔥
American dad brought me here. Thanks Roger!
I can feel for this man. Left my biological dad when I was younger due to abuse with alcohol. My momma met my step dad and it all changed after that. I am entering adulthood and I have learned a bit from my step dad. I have a lot of respect for my step father and his example.
Man if just 25% of rap was like this the world would be really really different... and better.
I remember this back n 94
When it comes to NBA MCs, Shaq is the GOAT
My bio dad left when I was 1 month old, my brother was 4, it broke his heart and I'll never forget it. Someone else stepped in and was 10 times better than him. Biology never matters.
U need to forgive ur dad if u want to make it to heaven
@@kingdommoney4739 I think you have to focus on your own soul. Each to there own and all

Most touching rap song ever, hard not to tear up listening to it. Phillip is a true hero
I have 2 concur!!!
Ever hear They Reminisce Over You by Pete Rock & CL Smooth??
Love this comment right here. Feel the same way. Funny how rap can take through all the different emotions.

I feel this so bad 😢😓😓😓😓❤🙌
"Phil is my Father" has been the name of my fantasy football team since 2005, thanks to this song.
Yooooooo!
Yahoo! Fantasy getting rid of the trash talk section is like a hot dog but without the bun.
Real words! Thanks Shaq for putting out so much positivity to the world.

Keep your head up. Father's we need you. Amen.
Rip gregory hamler nigga raised me from a boy to a man
See pac made the mama anthem,
but shaq made the stepdaddy anthem,
Even as a crack fiend kokori, you always was a black queen kokori.
Used to get clowned on as a kid for listening to Shaq. Looking back, he's definitely the best athlete to have rapped and his songs hold up even in 2023. Love to reminisce with tracks like this gem. An anthem for the many who were abandoned by their fathers.
The flow and beat are perfect especially given the era he was in. Plus the lyrics are really heartwarming, its just the song is really specific. Like incant relate to it because i wasn't born and raised where he was and my dad doesn't have the same name as his. As a writer I always tell other writers to stay open, broad, and relatable with there words.
Blood don't always make you family. Raising blood does♥️🤫
Talk about underrated!!
Always loved this jam
Is that really u in that pic nah cant be.
How you doin', pretty lady?
I can feel Shaq on this one my real dad was never there but my step dad who became my father taught me how to be a man...R.I.P. my pops Eddie, not a day goes by that I'm not greatful for you coming into my life
I really love this song and the story that is told. Thanks, Shaq, and to your late father, well done, Sgt. Philip Arthur Harrison.
Deadly song, bravo Shaq! I am a 90s kid, don't know how I missed this back in the day.
A man blessed with many gifts… clearly his heart of gold is felt!!!
I LOVE this song!!! It's so heartfelt!!!
I miss the 90's
my dude shaq got skills all around, crazy how talented big shaq is , but we already knew that
The song relates to me in so many ways. I was raised by the most wonderful Stepfather in the world. RIP Simon Mokoena and I will forever thankful for what you have done.
Discovered this gem in American Dad
Ona g me too lol they always putting a nigga up on sum💯 that’s why its my favorite show💯
Boy i felt this 😪 my dad was a army war vet and never bothered i grew up in the hood smh but i made it out college student with straight A's and got my own family now

This Warren G production is monstrous. Good times!
"He wasn't Gone With the Wind" like Clark Gable." 😂
My step dad came into my life at 20, and he's a better dad than my bio. I love that man with my whole heart. Actions, not blood, make a true parent. He treats my mama, brother, and even my dog like they're all that matter.
Totally understand. My stepdad is my DAD better than my old man. My dad was married before, never had kids but remarried my mother try to raise us well and has patienced. I loved him and missed so much.

The dislikes are from the dead beat dads
How Shaq wrote this without having tears in his eyes cause I know I do. Thank you to my Uncle and Dad for playing a major role in my Adult life.
yo, this is so underrated. g-funkkkk
Everyone’s surprised Shaq can rap Bc they don’t remember
@Porno Lawson YES! I do... what do you think today's rap EVOLVED from...and this was the 90's. Started in the 70's, became big business (an industry) in the 80's and has been going ever since. Don't talk down.
D CarrStar i feel you man today’s music just makes no sense and is rushed no work put into it
When I was 14 listening to this I was like maaaaan shit wak......now I'm 38 with an 8 yr old son.....n im tearing up like crazy..........

Never realized Shaq did this song in a geto boys/houston type of style. Dope
Warren G my man. West coast g funk style
Always keeps his rhymes 💯 real. Motivates me to be the best possible father, despite my imperfections.

This song will always be a classic no matter what.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Shout out to my real Dad Gregory Hill! This one for you. Coming into my life when I was a few months old and holding it down. I love you Pops
Shaq is honestly such a good lyricist, and his beat selection is top tier too, not only regarded as one of the best basketball players of all time, but an amazing musical artist who made REAL Hip-Hop and Boom Bap music, what a legend! Love the chorus in this song, love how they also kept the drums in the sample. The "hot dog but without the bun" bar always cracks me up.
I never in life heard this played on Father's Day. They need to. This is a good ode to the step-dads out there.
Iconic.
Man hard 🔥

People talk about the ultimate Diss song... but man this one hurts if you think about it!
I had my pops for 19 years 6 months 14 days 13 hours and 10 minutes...
After he passed I had a man name Tom Ledesma who took a black kid in gave him the skills to become someone that now as a 47 year old man ... whose a step parent to 4 girls... BEST JOB I could've EVER did ...
