If a medical person helps someone while they are off duty they do not get paid. Appeal to ridicule, also called appeal to mockery, is an informal fallacy, in a argument, that presents an opponent's claim or argument as absurd, ridiculous, or humorous, and therefore not worthy of serious consideration. Her response was very condescending and suggestive. Not only is she asserting Chauvin’s guilt (“killed”) but I believe it was her intention to discredit the defense by making it seem like they are out of touch with humanity if they really have to ask that question. So would you feel better if she were coached to influence the verdict? It seems like eye witness testimony from an open witness would be ideal for getting to the truth of the case. Her opinions may be irrelevant and she may not be rehearsed but really that’s not her job although had she been coached she may have been able to assist the people who selected her for expert testimony at the end of the day the more open she is the more information both sides have to find the relevant facts pertaining to what she had seen. You’ve got to realize there really was no “winning” in the court of public opinion for her. Had she done everything people are criticizing her for not doing they would have a whole other list of why she’s not credible because there are two sides of people in this trial all with their minds already made up. Why not just let both sides do their job if we are lucky every witness called will be so “unprepared” and the court can do its job. However I doubt that will happen because as much as people cry about the media controlling the narrative that is what they want. They want their opinion to steer the outcome of the case because nothing they hear is going to change their feelings about it all even though the people involved in the case have a more first hand experience with the reality of what happened then any of these CZcams lawyers claim to have.

    • @gorkyd7912
      @gorkyd7912 Před 3 lety +64

      @@zack6892 It's not a matter of whether a youtube commenter feels better. It's a matter of determining whether a witness in a murder trial actually witnessed a murder as they are attempting to testify or whether they witnessed a person's death and are now attempting to aid the prosecution's case by lending their own professional acumen out of a sense of outrage or justice despite not really knowing what actually happened. In this case the witness is trying to explain away the mistakes in her witness statement in order to further validate her pro-prosecution testimony. And her additional statements i.e "have you ever seen someone die?" clearly show that her motivation is righteous outrage. This demonstrates that she has a clear interest in the police officers being convicted rather than simply lending an honest testimony to serve the court. Doesn't mean she is wrong or that a murder did not occur, just means that her testimony has to be qualified as being potentially weighted towards favoring the prosecution because of her motivations.
      The judge is actually trying to protect the evidence of her testimony by keeping her from making these additional statements and arguments that betray her motivations to the jury. If I were on the jury however it would have been too late, I would probably not consider anything she says as "evidence" one way or the other since it's impossible to determine how truthful a person will be if they feel they have personal responsibility to bring justice to a murder trial through their statements as a witness.

Please I live in Los Angeles it takes police, fire dept & paramedics ages before they get there. I once found a dead person sitting at the bus stop in front of my business & it took the police & fire over 4 hrs to get there. When I called the second time the operator stated “he’s dead, he’s not going anywhere”! I just laughed & slapped myself for being so naive that anyone gives a crap!
