    The Golden Slam has to be the toughest challenge in sports. A grand slam is hard enough, but the gold caps it off.

    • @RoonMian
      @RoonMian Před měsícem +331

      A Golden Slam is winning all Grand Slam tournaments and Olympic gold in the same year. Djokovic only won the US Open this year, funnily enough his opponent Alcaraz won Wimbledon and French Open this year.
      There was only one Golden Slam winner ever and that was Steffi Graf.
      Either the video poster doesn't know this or he's lying.

    • @Bamanava
      @Bamanava Před měsícem +265

      No look it up a golden slam doesn’t have to be in the same year I thought it did until yesterday when they said it during tag match and then I looked it up and it doesn’t have to be in the smae year

    • @RoonMian
      @RoonMian Před měsícem +76

      @@Bamanava I reject that because it makes no sense. A "Grand Slam" is fixed in definition as winning all Grand Slam tournaments in a year. Suddenly throwing that central requirement of doing it in a year overboard is nonsense. Maybe if you're generous and okay with being wishy washy about it you can call it a "career golden slam." Perhaps those commentators you saw meant that or they were just plainly wrong and said it out of sensationalism because it's a thing that normally just doesn't happen.

    • @coconut6969
      @coconut6969 Před měsícem +149

      A career golden slam doesn't have to be in the same year. The calendar golden slam is winning all four grand slams plus the Olympic gold, which only Steffi Graf has done before.

      She had no competition, why would that be good in any way.
      Now, if the officials hadn't conveniently scheduled the 200m Individual Medley 20 minutes before the 800m race and she could beat McIntosh then that would be something to talk about. Ledecky is one of the greatest athletes of all times, did she really need that service?

    For me, the best silver is Apostolos Christou in the 200m. Backstroke
    After losing the bronze medal for just 2 hundreds of a second in the 100m. Backstroke he said to his coach that he won't be able to compete in the 200m. but after talking with him he changed his decision and it paid off with the silver medal 🥈
