Custom paddle valve housing! Manual Air Management Installation Part 1; Shoebox Ford Ep20

- There are 2 forms of air suspension management; manual valves and electronic valves. Today we install manual valves into Jake's 1950 Ford.
In part 1 of the air management videos we focus on the housing for the manual paddle valves and the gauges for monitoring each air bag.
The paddle valve housing was made from an electronics "project box" which was upholstered to give it a more natural look inside a classic car, because let's face it; plastic looks weird in vintage cars.
The project box was purchased here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...
Air management was purchased here: www.bagriders.com/air-managem...

Dang, that box turned out looking pretty dope! Glad I could make it pretty for ya 🤘
Absolutely love how it came out! Thanks again man!
Killer looking work!
Nice box. Can you please give me a link to where you bought the air valves (switch design)?
I purchased the switches from Bag Riders which came with the metal switch frame.

I’m not too familiar with air system. Is the splitter installed so on goes to the gauge and the other goes to the bag? when you exhaust the system, where is it vented from?
So, with manual valves, there are a few connections on the backside of the valves.
On each valve there is a supply line from your supply tank in the back of the car, and a feed line that delivers to your air bag. The air pressure inside of the air bag is shared right up to the paddle valve. Between the air bag and the feed side of the paddle valve you have a T-fitting that delivers your air pressure reference to your air gauges.
As for the exhaust on manual paddle valves, there is a small orifice on the backside of the paddle valve that dumps that air right off the valve. So it effectively dumps the air inside the car. It's just normal clean air, so nothing to worry about. It's also not all that loud considering the air pressure that's actually held in the system. it's not "quiet", but I wouldn't consider it loud.
Hope this helps explain.
@@DadModsMedia thank you for the prompt response. Also, very well edited video. The different camera angles and such worked really well and kept it entertaining.
@@Teal2nnr appreciate the kind words! I've learned from past errors, so now I try my best to capture the task with multiple angle 😅
Do you think it’s possible I could maybe get the measurements on the box if making the same thing because it’s kind of hard to find a box or something for the plate frame to go on and to cut into it
Here's the exact box I used: PINFOX Waterproof Plastic Project Box ABS IP65 Electronic Junction Box Enclosure 6.2 x 3.54 x 2.3 inch 158 x 90 x 60 mm (Black) www.amazon.com/dp/B07TS6RY85/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_254MRZDHA9V4TBHCAHFE?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Hope that helps. The fit was excellent and it tucked so nicely.
Oh my goodness 🤦🏽🤦🏽 thank you soo much man
@@matthewedwards223 happy to help!
