In Japanese MH fandom we call his hip check move as "亜空間タックル" which exactly means Hyperspace Tackle in English. So basically Capcom straight up officialized the name from the meme.

This thing actually happened to me, but instead of a single Plesioth, it's TWO on each different zone, and one of them is green Plesioth. I had the bad luck of standing by the edge of the entrance to the area when the Plesioth rail me over to the other area. A loading screen later, the first thing I saw was a Plesioth winding it's hip for a hipcheck. That was *MH: Freedom Unite.* When I got stuck in the loading screen and my phone literally crash 1 minute later, I was reminded of the time I played the earlier version of the game, Monster Hunter Freedom 1. Bastard pigs.

Never fought a plesioth in Freedom (I think I saw one once, it was fucking massive), but I think the Cephalodrome had the same move The only wyvern I would fight in melee, bit hard to shoot stuff that's underground 90% of the time
The thing is Cephadrome was no near the size of a regular Plesioth. Don't get me wrong Cephadrome can also hit you in fu if you are under his legs but rare the ocations he does when you are a few steps back of him. Plesioth hipcheck was literally an aoe but I still find weird to this day that both 'Blos have that tackle and almost same size as regular Plesioth yet it doesn't hit behind them that often. What I even saying,those noobs don't have control for such power.
Best part is,MHST has really good animations,the monsters always walk towards the dino then physically attack,unlike Pokemon. But Plesioth just stays in 1 place
To be real, the hitbox on that hip check is insane. I remember just ranging a lot of my beginner Plesioths in the guild just after first few urgent village quests in gen 1 and 2. Then, you just avoid it like it’s a massive sore spot with whatever weapon (gsword and longsword here).
