If you want to be rewarded by the end of Tool song listen to "Lateralus"
It isabout music notFibonacci sequence. When you heard first time Lateralus did you know about Fibonacci sequence??? No. Jesus... @@davidward9737
Let her just Spiral out.😀@@davidward9737
@@toolfankrk hey pushit. Where did a chum like you go
I felt rewarded at the end of "Freak on a leash" by Korn right after the beatbox thing when he said: "GO!"
A perfect circle is my favorite
The bass of this song❤❤❤ unbeliavable. One of the best tool song
the bassline is what propels this song.
Newcomers typically begin with this song since it's one of their more traditional sounding songs in relation to popular rock music. The Pot, Schism, Sober, and Forty six & 2 are the sort of jumping off points with Tool to ease you in. The Patient, while a great song, probably was a little overwhelming to begin with given how unorthodox their structures to the vast majority of their songs are. These guys are all masters of their craft and Maynard always tells a unique poetic story with most songs so lyrics are important.
Completely agree with your selections. Surprised to see The Patient was her introduction to Tool. It's not a song I'd recommend to someone just getting into Tool for the first time.
The Patient is kind of a boring song (although good) for sure.
well said my friend, period ...
Id also add parabol parabola for the gateways into Tool
Right In Two is also more palatable for beginners
I don’t think tool fans mention it often because it went mainstream or just because it’s simple, but Vicarious is a super easy intro to Tool structured in a way that isn’t super unexpected, and the lyrics are extremely clear to follow etc and for what was probably most people’s introduction to Tool in the real world since it was on the radio nonstop I almost never see it recommended for first reactions which strikes me as ods
The pot, vicarious, right in two, stink fist, swamp song, the grudge, 46&2, eulogy and pneuma I'll recommend for first listen.
Vicarious isn’t simple tho

Present
Sorry, I'm late to formation 😢
Greatest Band Ever. You'd love their song Parabol/Parabola
Good god, that fucking drop!
"Right in Two." I think you'll dig it.
Tool is maticulous and it's quite lovely. One of the only bands you will see live and it will sound exactly like it does on the album because that's exactly how they want you to hear it. Nothing is by accident with them.
You should do Pneuma, the drums are mental. There's a really good live video with a camera on Danny for it. very very good
Pneuma is awesome, but I always recommend listening to the studio version first before checking out the live drum cam video.
@@PongGodjepp. Only way to fully appreciate the level of drumming. Seen him live.....dude....bonkers.
Aenima and 46 & 2 are ones you should check out from them as well. Maynard also has two other bands he's a member of. A perfect circle has several that have had commercial success and are just great music. The outsider, from a perfect circle is so good that the resident evil franchise uses it in one of their movie soundtracks.
Tool songs are a journey and a pleasure to listen to .. thanks for reacting.. hope you do more
She did it!!! I begged her to do another Tool song. Especially after " The Patient" Happy New Year!!! Much love to everyone.
Tool is anticipatory perfection.
I wish I could hear them for the first time again 😢
Based on your commentary, I'd suggest Tool's "The Grudge" next
HAAAHA! You... you little rascal. Yep, "The Grudge," definitely. Yep, 100%
Based on her commentary I suggest she never listen to TOOL again
A lot of the music subverts expectation and its part of the magic. Cant wait to see you react to the Fear Innoculum album
vocally not his best work...
Oh hell YES! TOOL!! You have so much to react to them. Can’t wait, you’ll be a fan hooked, line and sinker!!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🌹🌹💕💕
Build, build, build the tension....brief pause..... aaaaaaaaandd release....Rinse and repeat...Tool are master of tone, space and timing! Their songs rarely follow a traditional structure, they are experiences more than just a listen.
Love your reaction to this song. They really are an amazing band. They’re a band that impresses other musicians. They make music they want to make and have never done anything to pander or cater to anyone but themselves. They are amazing musicians and if you plan on reacting to more tool I am here for it. The pot is considered in a funny way the “gateway” song to tool. It’s. A great song but one of my least repeated tool songs. There are sooooo many amazing, unique, and miraculous songs by this band. The lead singer has another band called a perfect circle that you would love also. I’d recommend the songs “3 libras” or “Orestes” by that band.
I came here to say this. I was in different bands for years, and "Tool" is definitely a band's band. I've been listening to them since "Undertow" came out, and I've seen them live countless times. You are absolutely right. I would point out that Maynard also has "Puscifer," but I don't think she would like them as much. A little repetitive.
Thank you for reacting to this brilliant song. One of the best rock songs ever written imo. It's one of their most accessible songs (and probably their grooviest song) and a good one for the beginning of your Tool journey . I really enjoyed your reaction to this!
They drop the beat 7 different times and each time is better than your average song chorus/beat drop
I know it's like she's listening to a different song. I'm like, "What do you want? Some techno dance hall horns and bass drops?"
Since the Bongos interest you, you may be interested in the Pnuema Drumcam video (posted by Vic Firth), a live performance of Pneuma, where the camera just sticks with Danny Carey (the drummer) the whole time. And you can see all the crazy stuff he does.
Lol, your descriptions on the feelings with no actual words are so fun. Love it!
This was one of the first Tool songs I heard, love their unique style. Danny Carey on drums is ridiculously talented. (Pneuma is pretty long but it's great, even if you'd like to listen outside of reacting)
"Descending" is definitely the song to listen and react. You will find everything you are looking for there
They're good at all of it, sister. Glad you're diving into Tool. It's a cool journey! Thanks for reacting to great music.
The best album for songs that build to a crashing end is the Aenima album. They've moved further from that each album up to their most recent one, Fear Inoculum, where they basically abandoned that altogether in favor of extended soundscapes. And Danny.
What!?! Have you ever listened to Descending!? It is the epitome of buildup an climax!
@@nozee77 Descending for sure. Huge, slow build. Maynard's entire part is done within the first six minutes and then it's just wave after wave of builds and releases until the very end when you finally get to exhale and take a moment to process what you just heard. Descending was my standout song from Fear Innoculum when I first heard it, and it's still the one I go back to more than any other songs on the album to this day.
There's just no substitute for "Pushit" right?
Ohhh you must do Descending. It's beautiful, dramatic, thought provoking, inspiring. Just incredible. It's long and takes a while to build up, and the build up is beautiful....but what a crescendo!
More tool please 🙏 ! Schism, Rosetta stoned, Jambi
Would honestly love to see your reaction to Judith and the Wings for Marie Part 1 and 2 as a megacompilation. Easily the most gutwrenching look into Maynard's life and his emotional standpoint on his Mother's Illness. Truly beautiful.
For the record, Judith is by one of his other bands, "A Perfect Circle".
That played live is the most incredible concert moment I've ever had. 500+ shows overall
YES!YES! PLEASE more TOOL reactions!!!
I feel it! YOU ARE a TOOL fan now!!
I was just looking up for Tool reactions
Watching people finally discover TooL is so great. The confusion, the understanding her face says it all
I sincerely hope you keep going down the Tool rabbit hole. You will have so many gems!
Thanks for reacting! More Tool pleaseee 🙏
I’m an old man at 66 and this is my all time favorite album. I’ve seen Rush in the 70s and Soundgarden in the 90s. Jimi my favorite guitarist. Tool is different. Thanks for the play.
I think the key here is "album".
Greatest band that has ever existed! More tool!! The tool army will come.
Love that bass line
My favorite take of yours so far. You get it. Kudos young lady. :)
Annnnd now uve stumbled onto my 1a/1b band along w Sleep Token. Tools been incredible for prolly 30 yrs and counting 💯
As always luv ur reactions while ur discovering amazing new music...its so awesome to see ❤
How are you not hearing that this is a song featuring the bass? That is the thing with Tool. They are a prog metal band and each song features an instrument.
Subbed and i really enjoyed rhis one.
Thanks for the Tool !!
I'm here because I heard the army was calling me. Great reaction! you're smile during the main scream was shiny.
Danny Carey -Pneuma (drum cam) Please 😊
I think you'd love Jambi by Tool. Great one to check out next.
Great reaction! This song is the one recommended by Maynard (singer) as the song which is best for one's introduction to Tool. From your observation regarding the teasing nature of their music, I think you would like Lateralus, Pushit, & The Grudge. Those 3 each have amazing climactic moments, in their own way. Glad to witness this journey of yours. Ty & Spiral Out!
Found your video after my 4-year old daughter made me search for the "Koh Lanta Song". During our road trip from Bangkok to Koh Lanta, where our home is in southern Thailand last week, she made me crank this song up louder and louder over and over.....She doesn't speak English very well so to her, this will forever be the "Koh Lanta Song"!!! Thanks for sharing. This song will forever be good memories for me and my little girl!
Check “The Grudge” by Tool 25 sec Maynard’s scream is amazing! 👏🏻🙌🏻
We got her fellas!! I see more Tool in her future!!
I love you, Tool are indeed teasing you about that heavy drop :p
I would call it Musical Edging....and I am here for it! Tool are some the best musicians in the game.
Love these reaction videos, truly. Please keep ‘em coming, we’ve got the whole discography to cover! Also, if you haven’t done it already, you should do a live reaction to the “Danny Carey Drum Cam” version of Tool’s live performance of the song “Pneuma,” off of their latest album. Please & thank you! Also also - don’t take this the wrong way, but (as others have mentioned…) you are an absolute doll! Just to say, you are a treat to watch, & I like your openness to enjoy music outside of your “comfort zone.” Instant likability! Total babe, seemingly thoughtful, intelligent, conversationally literate, appears to appreciate complex music a la Tool, (& I’m sure others, as I’ve seen you mention as much). Care for a cup of coffee sometime..? 😜🙄🧀😘
I'm here for it... Well, the Army and I are here for it. Spiral out!! 🌀
yeah this song fire lets goo! cool reaction! tool is pretty good :)
Tool is truly amazing. Enjoy the journey!
'Schism' or 'Lateralus' next
Then more from this album.
Then more from every album...
..just more
Finally we got here. More Tool , please !
This is one of Tools easier songs to follow as it has a typical progression and is basically a straight forward time signature. Danny Carey is arguably one of the best drummers to ever breath oxygen. His nickname os the Octopus as he plays and sounds like he has eight limbs. Recommend Laturalus, 46 & 2, Right in two, and Pnuma. If you are interested in watching Danny give a masterclass in drumming, please with the Drum Cam version of Pnuma.
They are the kings of "musical edging"!
Not all tool songs are in strange time signatures, although this is one of the things they are known for, you won’t always struggle to nod your head. Notable tracks with easy time signatures would be Sober, Crawl Away, Bittom, Stinkfist, H. , Pushit , AEnima and Third Eye. These tracks are also from their first two albums and have a different vibe
yes, this track is more digestible to the general public, that's why there's a higher demand on social media for this compared to other tunes.
Lots of good suggestions on what Tool song to listen to next, you can't go wrong. May I put in my vote for - Right In Two. This song is so relevant today with all this crap that's going on in the world. Have lyrics handy. We're all adults here, the ebbs and flows of a Tool song can be compared to sex. The build up and the slower moments repeated till the finale. Loved your reaction. Rock on
TOOL is more than just music. It's an experience.
Pretty much all of the songs Tool has made are a masterpiece.
"The Grudge" has a release...to say the least. Also, "Vicarious". "Jambi" has a drop....Some thoughts for the next one(s)
I met them when they came to Toledo Ohio in 2012 when I was the head chef at the Huntington Center and we talked for 15-20 in their dressing room before the show!!! One of many awesome acts I’ve met and cooked for.
I love your reaction Rachael❤ and i love you too❤❤
I like your channel. I’m lucky , I’ve seen TOOL , 5 times live mostly around Dallas and Ft Worth , aren’t they great . I subscribed… Texas
U.S. Navy Veteran. Oh
The "bongos" are Mandala electronic trigger pads programmed with different sounds and ethnic drums like the tabla (one of his more commonly used sounds) which you hear in the beginning. 🫡
Lateralus is a song based off the Fibonacci sequence so it’s super unique and IMO one of the best songs ever.
Incredible reaction....Aenema, Pneuma, Lateralus and Vicarious are my favorites!!!!!!
Delayed gratification! That's a perfect way to put it. They build it and build it and when it drops you know what they're doing. Tool fucking rocks!! Great job.
If you want to see a master class with drums, look up Danny Carey Pneuma by Tool.
cool react.
Hi from a new sub.
Look forward to your vids
I love watching new TOOL fans being born! Welcome!
A live show is bucket list worthy
I'm so pissed, I took my ex wife to the Columbus show a few years back....10th row. She literally was on phone all night, the nerve!
One of the most interesting parts of this song is the last two notes. It ends on an ascending upbeat, and just leaves you hanging with no resolution.
It is always Interesting to hear a newcomer´s opinion. I have been listening to Tool since 1996 when MTV played"Stinkfist", and they still amaze me like the first day. If I may suggest you the next song for you to react to, it could be "Push it", (track number eleven from Ænima album). can´t wait!
MTV for me, as well, except it was Sober, with Beavis and Butthead doing commentary.
If she couldn't handle The Patient, she for damn sure isn't going to know WTF to do with Pushit. That'd be hard to watch I think, but if yr into that kind of thing...
That's what makes Tool so good, they just ARE. And every moment in their technical mastery of a track is fire. Then add the fact that every song is just an "episode" in the album (the Season) of their entire collection (the show).
Someday you’ll grow up kid. “Musical Gratification” You’re getting there.😊
❤🎉😅 Thanks for your reaction
no one in the entire world loves this song more than me! these time signatures are so awesome!
I hope that over-compression was on this video edit only, and not what you were listening to, because this track absolutely smacks at good quality
Vocal, guitar, bass, drum, this is big professional!
One of the best songs!
Tool is the musical equivalent of edging, hang in there, it's soooo worth it when you finally get there!
Thank you for react Tool
Every song is an adventure. Enjoy the ride
Rollercoasters are a good analogy for Tool songs. Fake ascents, sudden drops, false climaxes and all the loops and swirls while the drums shudder and shake.
"The worst part of hearing TOOL for the first time is you can never hear TOOL for the first time ever again."
Justin and Danny together are a match made in heaven
Congratulations...You just opened your third eye ❤
Nice reaction! Have you heard the symphonic metal band called Crystal gates?
They are from my country, Uruguay, but the guitarrist and leader nowadays lives in Finlandia. They are a small band, but they are extremelly talented
you just started a musical journey with TOOL,,,, it is just the best auditive experience....
"Just the tip" is what i call it lol, and yeah, Tool are absolute masters of it 🤘😆
You are the first person I've watched that articulates or understands the whole, 'delayed gratification' of Tool. Your description of nearly cresting the hill just to find out it's the beginning of the next hill. Finally, towards the end, you reach that pinnacle for which you didn't know you were searching.
Love to see you check out Vicarious and Invincible with that in mind. You won't be disappointed. :D
Need to do more tool songs. The bass is kicking ass by the way. Awsome
lol I love how when every Tool reacter hears hand percussion they immediately say "bongos?"
more more more tool songs!
Good driving music
Thanks for Tool! 🌀🌀🌀🙏🙏🙏
