he's been working as a doctor for 11 years so pretty much yeah, he saw hard shit
He’s an ER doctor, I’m sure he’s probably seen most of these injuries irl. (Yeh sure maybe not like the bullet and knife one but definitely the fractured arm and shit).

If you're crouching down, your arms and legs are probably the first things in the way.
This adds a whole new layer to these games when you explain the injuries in so much detail. Makes it seem so much more painful!

You literally make opium, heroine, morphine, and many other drugs from a plant. While i doubt there are any plants that can heal whole ass bullet wounds within seconds, im certain there are plants that can heal over time. Its a game tho, no one has time to wait weeks in game to fully heal
Sophisticated Peter Griffin alright so how about picking random plants and mashing them up or whatever the character is doing in the Far Cry series and just injecting it. All the pharmaceutical drugs you’re talking about has tons of science and research put into it. Not what’s going on in this video game lol
@@grigoriyefimovichrasputin7897 Yes but the vast majority of things are specific chemicals draw from plants of various chemicals balanced to counteract each other as the base helping chemical may be lethal normally.
No, a random guy on an island would probably not have the knowledge, tools, or time to make reach meds for care. On top of this most meds have side effects. Those effects may last a while and seriously hurt combat abilities.
I really like this guy. He seems to have seen these things a lot of times throughout his career.

I appreciate how informative this was, speaking anatomically. I now have a better idea how to assess injuries. Example: I had forgotten how serious it is for someone to have a wound to the armpit. And of course, the big reminder for everyone: Don't Pull Out Impaled Objects.

Thank you to Gamology for the longer episode and real life emergency info. It was both entertaining and fascinating.
I’d also like to agree that self operating is seldom a smart idea. in real life people usually survive to reach medical assistance before the injury becomes deadly. In an actual survival situation, we would be more likely to die of thirst or unmedicated disease than our wounds. It looks cool in James Bond and Iron Man though.

@@palmabolp In my understanding as a layperson either is a really bad plan, especially since the bullet probably isn't the same shape it entered your body in anymore. Arrowheads need to come out somehow (preferably through the push-through method, for those which are barbed headed rather than straight headed) because they enter the body slowly enough that they stay intact and often sharp - plus the whole 'attached to a possibly splintered wooden haft' part. Bullets are extremely fast and made of soft metals that deform inside of people. The entry wound and the bullet won't have similar dimensions.
@@Kharmitas Besides, the doctor said it should stay in there beacuse the bullet could have hit an artery and, well, pulling or pushing it out is a death sentence. Not only that, the odds of a bullet getting stuck in you are slim (unless the bullet hit a bone).
PS: I was just curious of what would be a better option.
Also didnt know that certain types of arrowheads have different methods of getting those out.
