    Oh God! it is so beautiful. I notice how Robben plays still longer passages down in the lower register of his guitar, while when he then occasional goes on the higher notes he creates bends that is deeply touching. It is playing as if every concert could be the last. I hope he will be heard for many years to come

      Someone once asked B.B.King why he played almost solely in the upper register. HIs answer wasn't what everybody seems think. It was simply because he didn't hear the lower frequencies as well for some reason. Nothing to do with the genre at all. Just a minor hearing problem.

    One of the greatest to ever do it. Like top 5 guitar players ever. Head and shoulders above many of the newer guys these days who are very derivative of Stevie.

    I sometimes treat myself to a Robben Ford concert just to see how one should transit smoothly from chord playing to soloing and to enjoy his unreal dynamics and timing.

    a Gibson Super 400 (videos are on You Tube), He is a blues master and great teacher.

    I’ll probably get a lot of hate for this comment but his singing feels so uninspired. Like he’s just trying to get through the first 24 bars so he can start playing guitar. Robben Ford is one of my favorites, I’m just keeping it real.

    • @timothyfarris4226
      @timothyfarris4226 Před 6 lety +2

      Curtis McLeod - I totally see why you could think that. But I would ask you to do a bit of time listening to Robben teach guitar and then review his singing and notice the similarities. He is singing the way he is living life. A deep thinker with no misconceptions about who or what he is. You certainly don”t see him making voice instructional lessons. He sings out of necessity more than anything else...one, because his package stays within his vision and application when he sings/leads it, and two, there ain’t that much money involved in the club scene to do it any other way. A four piece travels around so much better than a larger group.
