Nurse used everyone in high minutes and Darko has people passing more than Nurse could. I think this will allow more growth and nurse failed at this for maintaining wins.

Glad to see Darko got support. I think if this rebuild takes any longer than 2 years, he's asking for wayyyy too much patience from the fans. There's no guarantee that Scotty's going to re-sign with Toronto. It's all business, and other teams are going to be coming after him. He's the centerpiece of our plans.

The multitude of end of season injuries were tolerated to allow the tanking to proceed. Great time to be a well paid Raptor. Seems they get paid full time for working about 5 months of the year.
tl;dr - the plan is to (patiently) develop high-potential players .. to create trade-able assets so, one day, we can swing big again. this isn't the long game that OKC or Orlando is playing, but a more fluid one .. expect lots of trades, lots of short stints, a deep "top 10" .. and several losing seasons. cool.
@benrogers code words from Masai, he hopes the rebuild wont be 6 years but it can be, and so you looking at a 3-4 year rebuild in toronto if its fast. look at bobby websters interview also, he said raptors are not 1-2 pieces away but 5-10 pieces or more away. so that tells you they wont be doing any big trades or blowing alot of money on free agents in the near future.
Rebuild will be 1 more year if we keep top 6 pick.. we draft dilliingham and then missi at 17..

Raptors should trade Portal and draft Ebay. Portal is to old for this group and Ebay has a higher ceiling and way more offense. Also we need someone who tall enough to deal with a certain star rookie on the spurs. Also Ebay can potentially be unstoppable in the paint to the point where it makes up for no outside shot. Think Shaq but he is a better free throw shooter though not as fast or athletic like Shaq was but bigger than Shaq
People wanting Darko's head don't know basketball. If you must issue blame, a good chunk of it should go to Masai/Bobby. We've got a good system that works, but the wrong players and lack of talent to implement it effectively. Spacing was bad because we had too many people that couldn't guard a pilon and/or aren't a threat from long range. That added on to the fact that we have no stars/superstar players that don't create gravity (double-teams)--makes us very easy to guard. Our opponents simply pack the paint and foul the F#?& out of us because they know we won't hit our 3s or FTs. Darko's system generates plenty of open lanes for drives and catch and shoot 3s. The problem is our guys can't put the ball in the damn basket.

At least with that worm Jantay being banned for life we are free of his bs contract with no cap penalty. Personally I think the league needs to watch his brother like a hawk (hungry vulture?) if one is dirty the other probably is too.
I'm ok with how the Raptors did this year. We one a bunch of games against top tear teams until the injury bug bit. Unfortunately we also played down to the level of some sub par teams and they made us pay for that.
Can't wait to see what happens with our guys at the Olympics, Rico Runs and summer league.

Scottie Barnes is a good player but not going to be player to build around. Need a big proven free agent.
Masai and Bobby lost their touch after a few fluke years. Also kiss goodbye that 6th pick which will be drawn as 7th. Present day AI will do a better job than Raptor scouts and front office.
That’s spicy P to Sacramento trade lookling really good right now but that’s wasn’t Masi fault.

Building through the draft is so dumb for this team. We draft all these players and develop them for half a decade or more only for them to leave as soon as they hit their prime and go to their prefered destination outside Canada.
Only guy who truly wanted to stick around was Pascal, and the team let him go.
Because this franchise have no loyalty and they cheep, massi hoping he could get a next pascal siakam, but that not going to happen

the issue is the raptors have very few young good assets to trade even if the wanted to trade, so drafting and developing players is a good thing for a market like toronto where no one wants to come.

It’s these pascal obsessed fans that made it their mission to 💩 on Scottie since they replaced pascal as the guy here. What they’re trying to do now is create some RJ VS Scottie narrative just to hate on Scottie. The same thing happened when the reigns were passed down to Demar as the go to guy from Bargnani. A lot of Bargs fans turned on Demar. Don’t even get me started on the JV fans that hated Demar because they told themselves JV was going to be the next Tim Duncan.
