This a proper old school time attack car... Gutted steel doors with no trim panels! A built straight cut dogbox... A true Evo modified to go faster. A lot the newer ones are further removed from the road car, with racing sequential transmissions, fully re-engineered suspension etc... built more to maximise the regulations, i think.
I think it was hilarious Tarzan got in the Qscan/Mercury car and sliced like 20 seconds off their drivers time in one lap... such an insanely good driver.
you can see the car oversteering on corner exit and tarzan constantly having to make steering corrections when on the throttle. also braking stability could be further improved with more rear downforce.
You're not alone however I believe they still built that car within the rules. Shame Sierra Sierra is no longer. There will be some very quick competition for Nemo this year though. Just not sure if they'll be quick enough...
Where do these guys start from in order to get a build these drift cars and enter the event ? Because those cars look like they have been tuned and re tuned to the max,and that uses lots of money Thanks! By the way I'm just 14
First off in case you hadn't got that wrong this is time attack, not drifting, no dig at all. In answering you're question though, there is no set format. just read and read and read, you've got years to prepare for a future in any automotive sport. you'll need to find out what sport interests you, what cars may interest you and also try and find out how others started out and decide what sort of route you want to take, based on what they do and you're own personal situation. One things for sure, you'll need money and time. Money you just need to work hard for, definitely in school because this will help you get a good job or relevant engineering job to understand you're car. This then translates into you being able to run the car, fix and modify it to an extent (which also requires some experience or help) and save you money but some aspect will require dedicated professionals to work on the car. You could though try to learn what is needed, taking up time, but do it yourself. Whilst developing you're car as you gain funds, you can gain experience by running it in events. Hop online and search for local events and groups that organise events or go out and try to find them at local tracks and inquire. These groups of people, providing you stay in, will be able to help you on you're journey and become friends and introduce new ones too. Anyway, if money is you're concern and you don't fancy getting a degree, relatively good paying job or anything, build you're chosen car, get good at drifting (lots of time and some money), then get sponsored and keep getting good or you'll be paying for it by yourself again. Initially you'll need to do some work to save money and this will be a learning curve, but a lot of info can be sourced easily on the internet or talking to people in the know. Some major work will be done at tuning shops, once sponsored you may even have a dedicated team there to do everything for you testing and Race day! Look at Matt Powers and where he's come from, truly inspirational stuff there! Despite the essay, just start reading up about it. There's loads out there to be found out, a million times more than what I've said and you'll soon see what a massive automotive culture there is out there throughout the world. Best of luck Mark and feel free to message me with any questions at all.
Basicly when u get your car and license start going to track events in your area, a lot of guys do that in there own cars and they pick up sponsors uselly by that time the car is a race car brought in on a trailer, but u gotta practice too so go to driving school too when u get your licenses google is your friend.
First off, it's not a drift car, that car is setup to be super grippy and is all track. It's cool to see younger people getting in to tuning. The thing to do is find the shop that built this car in Japan and get the list of parts that they used to build this evo. This thing will kill way more expensive cars on the track or on the touge.
NO! Stiffer rear suspension will make the car oversteer even more and softer front will make braking worse due weight transfer to the front. I bet my neck the guys know what they are doing. One adjustment may be better for a corner, but you have to find setting to work everywhere not in one corner... And so you may be able do one corner better, but you can make another 2 or 3 worse... what is better for you?

Great car handling and acceleraction!

Incredible footwork

@abrokendreamer
No, the owner went faster than Tarzan actually

ラーマン繊細。Hシフトで勝のすごい。
tarzan yamada destroyin all competion like always that evo is mental thru the corners turns in like a beast.. any new footage of berrys gtr
nice shift!
@MotiveDVD O.O, I was there, I watched him get in the car and strip the fastest official time they posted.
Which one is the fastest now? Cyber, sierra sierra or the hypermax evo?
@junpower010
Yes
does hennessey drive in this??
did you not notice the massive sign that said SYDNEY !!!
Why does the Cyber Evo have the dashboard from a Honda Integra?
TassieLorenzo your mum
They are cheap, as easy to bolt guages to and are light weight for a OE dash. Why spend $1000 on a dash when you can put that towards other gear.
That and the fact that the car would be a lot faster with more rear downforce!
which track?
damn I want to drive the cyber evo lol
Kinda shows what a big part the driver plays eh (and yes I am Canadian :p)
Top 3 time attack cars are evo...BOOOOM
DC5 dashboard?
Wonderful track. can someone please tell me it's name?
On the comment below the drifting part is for formula D

i think its Autopolis? or at least looks like it
I don't even consider Nemo to be an evo anymore

@mcshanksta
Due to jealousy?
*the one
everyones a fucking expert on youtube
TARZAN
None of those are the fastest at the moment. Nemo was 3+ seconds quicker than this in 2012. 2013 will be very interesting.
holy shit I thought a ford or holden would have taken the win.
Lmao!! Good joke.
Hennessey to slow for this challenge = to heavy
the who disliked this sucks at racing and is scared as hell on a 600+hp evo :)
Ok, all stop talking shit and watch a great drive!
not looking so hot now, huh? watch?v=sxaMueDBcmY
and next year probably someone else :D
