Dude, chill down, will ya? I said it was a good example for a filler episode. And I think you need a reminder of what filler actually means. An anime is based on a manga (which is the case in Yu-Gi-Oh). Everything in the anime that was not in the source material is, by deffinition, filler, off course. 'Filler' is not necessarily a bad thing, it's just a designation. And the movie takes place after Season 4, evidence being the feootage on TV with Yami flying in the sky alongside the Egyptian Gods. Tristan referring to the movie in Season 4 is a dub error. Also, saving the world only becomes a thing after Marik, Pegasus had a very personal motivation and the whole save the world plot in Season 2 and 3 was a dub invention, Marik's goal in the original is simply to kill Yugi.
And like I said, I wasn't implying that Filler per se is bad (Doma is the prove), but it's just what it is. A filler is an arc in an anime that isn't present in the source manga, produced mostly because both the manga and the anime are made parallel at the same time and sometimes the mangaka needs a bit more time to finish up so the anime producers insert a self-made story so the production isn't halted. As for Marik`s goal, it's actually pretty damn good since marik believed the Pharaoh was responsible for the death of his father. The whole "Take over the world as Pharaoh" thing doesn`t really make much sense since neither the God Cards nor the Puzzle give you the means for that. As the final arc showed, you would need ALL of the Millenium Items to unlock such power, and even in the dub Marik planned to give his rod to Bakura. It's even shown in the duel Yugi vs Brainwashed Joey that the whole thing doesn`t add up when Marik (who in the original doesn't care about the Puzzle at all) orders Joey to throw it away (to retrieve it later in the dub, yeah....). You should give the japanese version a try btw. The english version has many strong points too (music, voice acting), but especially Battle City becomes much better in the original, especially since there are no 'Dark Energy Discs' or 'Shadow Realm portals inside a building', but just what they were supposed to be: Death traps. Also, japanese Kaiba is much less of an ass and doesn`t constantly deny that magic doesn't exist like an idiot.

I expected that to be just another "villain of the week" type of duel, but what we got instead was maybe even the best duel of the entire DM series. The way Atem slowly turns evil over the course of the duel and then LOSES and Yugi is lost because of it... kid me couldn't take it.

I like how, as the season progresses, it doesn't just descend from the sky while they confidently look on. Instead, it expands from their body as they scream in pain, signifying the evil that's constantly building inside of them that Dartz is building through the entire season
I won a duel recently with the help of the "Seal of Orichalcos" and "Guardian Eatos", the whole duel lasted a few turns! I could just imagine seeing the seal encircle my opponent; Dartz would be so proud :)
Honestly? This is one of the best composed pieces I've ever heard, and I've heard a lot of stuff. That's one thing to appreciate about Yu-Gi-Oh, the music.
The Japanese Seal of Orichalcos was an ancient power that could do great good, but could also destroy an entire society if abused, the English Seal of Orichalcos is an ancient power of evil that corrupts all who use it. They are both equally fitting for their roles in their respective version.

Anyone who gets the Xbox One will have the Seal appear on their head and will have the soul of a gamer sealed away. Forever making them a mindless hate filled puppet.
Depends on whether you mean the unofficial version or the legal version. The unofficial one cannot be negated, destroyed, or removed from the field at all, so the only way to get rid of it is to either force your opponent to discard all their copies before they can play them, or use Anti-Spell Fragrance to make them Set it face-down. When face-down, it doesn't have any powers, so it can be destroyed easily that way. Once it's face-up on the field, it's staying for the rest of the Duel.
Truly the best arc of all Yu-Gi-Oh! series combined, I think I have never truly enjoyed another season after this one. However, I do think the "Orichalcos" arc should have happened in a later Yu-Gi-Oh! series, I mean, it would have been awesome to see Orichalcos based Synchro or Pendulum cards...

Also, I'm pretty sure the seal don't prevent summoning from the extra deck, it allow its user to: 1-Summon as many monsters as there's space on the field on the player's side 2-Reinforce monsters by giving them 500 ATK points 3-Gives 500 LP per monsters the player has on the field once per turn (Deuteros) 4-Sacrifice a monster you own to stop a direct attack and destroy the attacking monster instead (Deuteros) 5-Spell & Trap cards can't be used against the player (Tritios) The Orichalcos Seal also cannot be removed from the field until the duel is over or the three legendary knights are present on the field. Long story short, the "no extra summoning" rule is only for the actual card game (or did you forgot Dragon Master Knight being summoned by Yugi & Kaiba during the duel against Dartz AFTER he activated the Orichalcos seal?)

Its like they went from battle city everyone just dueling to alright fuck it, lose your soul, ancient leviathan being revived, main characters get wrecked left and right. What a season

Depends on whether you mean the unofficial version or the legal version.
The unofficial one cannot be negated, destroyed, or removed from the field at all, so the only way to get rid of it is to either force your opponent to discard all their copies before they can play them, or use Anti-Spell Fragrance to make them Set it face-down. When face-down, it doesn't have any powers, so it can be destroyed easily that way. Once it's face-up on the field, it's staying for the rest of the Duel.

Truly the best arc of all Yu-Gi-Oh! series combined, I think I have never truly enjoyed another season after this one.
However, I do think the "Orichalcos" arc should have happened in a later Yu-Gi-Oh! series, I mean, it would have been awesome to see Orichalcos based Synchro or Pendulum cards...

Not possible because the Seal stops you from Summoning from the Extra Deck, where Synchro Xyz etc. cards reside
@@king_sc_CMXII You do realize Fusion monsters are from the "extra deck" too, right? Also, I'm pretty sure the seal don't prevent summoning from the extra deck, it allow its user to:
1-Summon as many monsters as there's space on the field on the player's side
2-Reinforce monsters by giving them 500 ATK points
3-Gives 500 LP per monsters the player has on the field once per turn (Deuteros)
4-Sacrifice a monster you own to stop a direct attack and destroy the attacking monster instead (Deuteros)
5-Spell & Trap cards can't be used against the player (Tritios)
The Orichalcos Seal also cannot be removed from the field until the duel is over or the three legendary knights are present on the field.
Long story short, the "no extra summoning" rule is only for the actual card game (or did you forgot Dragon Master Knight being summoned by Yugi & Kaiba during the duel against Dartz AFTER he activated the Orichalcos seal?)
