    100% The Bear is NOT a COMEDY. I will die on this hill.
    I love these secret Ballots. Loki forever!!!

      The Bear is obviously a comedy. The mom comedically crashes a car into a house, Carmy is absurdly trapped in a fridge. Just because it has good cinematography and people cry in the show doesn't mean that it isn't a comedy.

      @@guzkus1Grey’s Anatomy has comedic moments. Would you ever consider it a comedy?

      I agree it is not a comedy, it does have its comedic elements but overall it is not a comedy. Drama's have humor and comedy in certain areas but that does not make them comedy.

      @@Godlovesus78 Agreed! The first of episode of the new season of The Bear proved it's not a comedy because nothing happed, it was just a series of brief moments in Carmy's life to the tune of a sad piano score. It looked like Terrence Malick directed it.

      There were humorous moments in Schindler's List as well. (Schindler's wife tells him, "I will only stay if you promise me, no doorman or maitre d' will ever mistake anyone but me for Mrs. Oscar Schindler." Quick cut to the next scene where she's leaving on a train.) Doesn't mean that SL is a comedy. The Bear is a very serious, painful-to-watch-at-times drama. It's unfair to the writers/producers/actors of actual comedies that there's a ringer in their category.

    Lol, don't fall into the Tariq quandary of Oscar time: well I took a survey of 50 people out of 10k and I feel there's a push for Nyad sweeping the Awards, or whatever he was suggesting.
    Chris, don't change your thoughts too much because of 3 ballots!!!
    Could Ms Eng sway some more, I Love it. COME ON. You guys rock.

      It was actually only two videos in one week and one of them which was the Oscars Playback was recorded two months ago. It just looks like it was all in one week cause no other GoldDerby videos were uploaded in between this last week.

    Danai Gurira's writing of "What We," for The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live is amazing. I could see her getting a Writing nom. The episode got so much buzz. If she does, is it possible the same voters voted for her in the Lead Actress category, too? She could be a dark horse. I'm really rooting for her in both categories. ❤

    • @Godlovesus78
      @Godlovesus78 Před 9 dny

      The ones who voted for the ones who live for drama definitely have her down for lead actress, 99 percent sure they do and probably have her in the writing category as well.

    As those of us who sat through Studio 60* know, it's definitely sketch, not skit, for SNL.
    *For all its flaws, that show should have gotten Matthew Perry (RIP) and Steven Weber Emmys. They legitimately earned them, and I will die on that hill.

    Hey Chris, I'll give you a heads up. The third season of The Bear is solid but I would skip the first episode if I were you, it's literally just a series moments in Carmy's life with almost no dialogue. It felt like an interminable 36 minute Terrence Malick short film.

      @@chrisjrosen Good to hear because I did NOT care for it. I was like, what the heck am I watching here? I know it's the tone of the show but not the best episode to open with, they could've made that episode the ninth episode.

    It’s not that the public is stupid. It’s that Warner Brothers Discovery is terrible at branding.
    Streamers aren’t making a profit except for Netflix. Zaslov is actively trying to basically turn MAX into a FAST streamer… but with monthly fees. The only thing it will have later on that will differentiate it from other streamers is that WB movies will be on Max first…. Basically undercutting the rental space.

    I have a suggestion: Could Ms. Eng please avoid swaying while speaking? It is quite distracting and makes it difficult for the audience to focus on the video.

    • @KaiOpaka
      @KaiOpaka Před 9 dny +10

      I literally have no idea what you're talking about, and you shouldn't speak for the audience. It's distracting **you** and the one person who happened to like that unless you also liked your own comment.
      Maybe don't tell women what to do with their bodies ever, but also I love how often people think they have a right to find fault with Joyce while pretty much leaving the white male GD contributors, editors, etc alone. She's the GOAT of GD. She can do what she wants.
