Increase your Air supply to your fish, this helps growth, good water, lots of Oxygen, and high protien feeds when they are young.

Nice job on everything! We are waiting to close on 3.7 acres. I have plans for a smaller scale fish setup based upon what your doing. I was very successful this year with my first attempt at a homemade green house and hydroponics (Back Yard Kansas USA CZcams). Planning side by side green houses, Aquaponics, bees, fruit trees, chickens..... Can't wait to get started!

Glad to see you are taking the aquaponic route. I would have had to call you crazy if you had all that fish water and didn't use it. I wonder with the fish, if you could process all the fish waste, guts, bones, etc all down into fish fertilizer for the garden, to compliment the fish poo of course. Just a thought.

Excellent self sustaining aquaculture and greenhouse farming! This idea is really genius! However, did you made a calculation for the effort for setting it up? Plus continuous power sustaining cost for the pumps and heaters? Have you made some calculations to see if this setup is producing the fishes / fruits and vegetables lower than market pricing? This setup is really genius!

I'd like to come over to spend some time working with you to see how you do things and get good results, I've had my fish for over a year and they're still like juveniles, some are even like fingerlings. What do you think might be the problem? They seem happy as I make their feed and feed them twice a day, I change the water every other day but I put male and female together

    • @pablopicasso4994

ChileExpatFamily I would say that you should harvest only when your fish multiply into a colony of at least 70. Than I would probably harvest about 20 from those 70 tilapia and your very welcome :)

Do you try to kill off all the 1-2 pound fish during autumn, to freeze, eat, or sell, and keep your breeder tanks going for the next years crop? Being you live in Ohio, that might keep your heating bills lower during the winter.
