The greatest calls from one of the greatest sports commentators of all time. *I know I missed a lot but these are the ones I could remember off the top of my head. LETS GO BUCS!!!
Brother I’m with you. This man was my childhood. Raise the Jolly Roger and raise our glasses to Greg Brown for screaming louder than anyone for a walk off.
Nothing will ever top that Wild card game against the reds. I haven’t been alive long enough to ever see them make it before that, but the crowd was insanely loud. The fact they rattled a pitcher of that quality enough to drop the ball and then next pitch gives up a moon shot gives me goosebumps
Absolutely, Greg Brown is one of the main reasons I've remained a Pirates fan all these years through thin and thin. (That's right; I said, "through thin and thin.") When he calls a "Bucco Blast," you remember it! He really enhances the game experience. The entire Bucs broadcast team does a great job maintaining enthusiasm, helping us keep hope alive--year in, year out.
@@crowtservo Bringing up Joe in this context is so out of nowhere. The commenter was clearly talking about how he was wondering why this guy isn't the announcer for the Pirates' TV broadcasts.
@@PipeGuy64Bit Because if Greg does the radio side then you're stuck with.......Joe Block. Joe should be working for some smooth jazz or easy listening station.
Ėlîtė ZøøM I was at that game too with my dad I remember in the post game interview they were interviewing Martin and had it up on the Jumbotron and right in the middle of the interview someone (I think it was Neil Walker) just came from nowhere and slapped a pie in his face it was one of the best things I’ve ever seen 😂
You're not a bandwagon fan for realizing that ownership has completely dismantled the team that finally took us to the playoffs and out of a 20 year slump because they're too cheap to sign anybody or make good trades.
Honestly, same here. The MLB either needs to step in, like ye olde Expos, or the Penguins ownership group needs to buy them. I live where I can readily see both the Bucs and the former Indians, and the Pirates are just broken. I sat through the days of Doumit, Mclouth, Wilson, Maholm, Bay, etc., and I don't see anything outside of an ownership change that could bring me back. And that sucks, since for YEARS, being a Pirates, not Indians fan, was my baseball life.
I feel so bad for him to see them lose right away in 1993 when he came to the pirates broadcasting team. 1993 was the first year of the 20 losing season streak. I can’t believe he still has has enthusiasm for the pirates. The pirates for me have always been bad since I was born in 1995. 2013 was a welcome sense of relief and knowing the pirates will not be losers for my whole life on earth.
Same here, I was born in 1991, but wouldn't remember seeing a winning season or not, but all I knew growing up was the Pirates were bad and then in 2011 I thought they were going to turn it around, but then collapsed, but 2013 was the best season and my first time ever seeing a Pirates winning season in my life.
sportsygirl8 we’ll this current ownership group has the MONEY to win. But the idiot nutting doesn’t want to spend. I starting to get tired of the cheap crap.
I find myself coming back to this video every couple months to relieve some of the best moments. How I wish Nutting would understand that if he'd put some effort into this team, the fans would flock to PNC in waves again but nope, he had to blame the fans for him refusing to upgrade the team.
My great grandma she’s 100 years old and loves the Pirates and always looks forward to watching them on tv. She told me once that God is keeping her alive so she can see win the championship one more time.
Thanks for sharing this. I may have found this late, but wow. Fantastic stuff. Been a long (long) suffering UK Pirates fan for 15 years and I love JB's commentary. Him and Steve Blass were awesome together too. So much passion for the game and the team. You can't help but love him. Here's hoping the boys give him (and us) more moments to get excited in the years to come.
This guy reminds me of Dave Niehaus from Seattle Mariners history. In fact; I'd say he's carrying on Niehaus' legend of knowing exactly when to take it into overdrive with big moments.
That Russell Martin home right after Cueto dropped the ball at the mound is the #3 greatest Pittsburgh sports memory for me.....The first one is Santonio Holmes toe tap catch to win Super Bowl 43 and the second is Polamalu’s game winning interception against the ravens in the AFC championship game in January 2009
Wish you would have had the clip when they were in Chicago and Cervelli hit a grandslam and then Cutch a solo shot right after...that was one of Greg's funny calls about the fans booing. This was a great set of clips. I miss a lot of those players too, especially Cutch and The Fort.
Greg is a great person and a good guy cant wait till 2020 to see more cannonballs but it will be sad no steve blass though but we will have fun with him as part of our family
Absolute shame that such a talent is wasted with this organization. It's 2018 and nobody cares. Would go down as one of Pittsburgh's iconic anncrs of all time.
I’m a Diehard Red Sox fan but Jesus, I would do anything in this world to have Greg Brown call games on NESN.... Pirate Fans.... you got someone special, but you didn’t need me to tell you that
I remember EXACTLY where I was. With my dad, who is a Braves fan, in south Florida for the summer. I mean, the only thing I missed despite going to a concert the night before was Burnett's homerun.
WE may have lost Cutch, we have lost Cole, but we still got Greg Brown, and that makes listening to Pirate's baseball enjoyable.
Rob Sherwood we got archer and kela
Kyle Fox: archer has played like shit
@@disappointing7774 I know but im giving him a shot bro
Archer has finished off strong though hopefully 2019 we’ll get em! Let’s go Bucs
WHAT ABOUT BLASS? HE RETIRED LAST NIGHT
Had tears in my eyes for some of those. Several promising seasons turned into nothing. Love Brownie's calls.
Brother I’m with you. This man was my childhood. Raise the Jolly Roger and raise our glasses to Greg Brown for screaming louder than anyone for a walk off.
This dude is probably the best announcer in Baseball.
W, He’s better than Orsillo
Say what you want about the Pirates, Greg Brown is the most enthusiastic broadcaster in baseball today.
Riktus Loremaster I think it's between him and Matt vasgerzian (if that's how you spell it)
I agree!
Matt is so bland in MLb the show no enthusiasm like in real life.
When the guy before joe block showed up he was pretty good too.
He makes me laugh when he goes crazy
He needs to be the World Series announcer
Agreed! He'd go nuts if the Pirates won too.
sportsygirl8
Oh if we ever win a other WS people will DESPISE us cause well be the cockiest most obnoxious fans lol LETS GO BUCS
Haha...yeah, I know. Some people despised us when we were in the playoffs too.
The man would have a stroke if the pirates went to the World Series
Not me?? LOL
Nothing will ever top that Wild card game against the reds. I haven’t been alive long enough to ever see them make it before that, but the crowd was insanely loud. The fact they rattled a pitcher of that quality enough to drop the ball and then next pitch gives up a moon shot gives me goosebumps
i could have been at that game but i was sick that day. My mom told me all about it.
2020 and this is even more true
Dude this made me cry remembering all those calls. What a trip down memory lane!
Me too Homie me tooo
Was literally about to type this 😭😭😭
Damn all these flashbacks from our 2012-2015 runs got me in my feels
As a Red Sox fan, Greg Brown is awesome
Can we please have Tim Nevrett back? Joe Block who replaced him is awful.
As a Pirates fan, you’re right
@@frostthedon5303 pirate fan also
Ahah same dude Sox fan from France 🇫🇷❤️
Greg Brown is the best

I always get disappointed when he does the radio broadcast, hes the man
Boic
Right. I hate Joe Block, can’t stand him. But Greg Brown is the best.
Same here, when I hear that it's Joe, I'm like mannnn. I like Joe Block, but his voice for some reason makes me want to sleep...lol.

Man I was smiling watching this whole thing. I need baseball back
Swing and a line drive they've done it again. Literally what every single person watching that game was thinking man what a ride those few years were
2:43 maaan the energy from the crowd exploded!! One of the most exciting games I've been too
Ėlîtė ZøøM I was at that game too with my dad I remember in the post game interview they were interviewing Martin and had it up on the Jumbotron and right in the middle of the interview someone (I think it was Neil Walker) just came from nowhere and slapped a pie in his face it was one of the best things I’ve ever seen 😂
I was there for that Martin home run. It was right on my 21st birthday and it made that day so much better.
This video is where Pirates fans come to reminisce on the good times.
Hey we’re battling for 1st this year at least 🖤 💛
Breaks my heart to see what they became in 2 short years. PNC used to be my haven, I love baseball. Now I can't even watch them on TV.
J Nunyabizio aww look at the bandwagon fan
You're not a bandwagon fan for realizing that ownership has completely dismantled the team that finally took us to the playoffs and out of a 20 year slump because they're too cheap to sign anybody or make good trades.
Ron James that’s not being a bandwagon

The passion he has in his job and how he loves the sport and team

Me too, but the Pirates will still always be my favorite team.
It was so great seeing Jay Hay, Walker, Martin, Cutch and Marte. I'll remember Zoltan too! I hope Pirates get that magic again someday
I find myself coming back to this video every couple months to relieve some of the best moments. How I wish Nutting would understand that if he'd put some effort into this team, the fans would flock to PNC in waves again but nope, he had to blame the fans for him refusing to upgrade the team.
Did anyone else completely forget we had Derrek Lee for like 45 seconds? Or just me
2:19 My first Buccos game and I will never forget the energy in PNC Park that night!
You are right about him being so good. Bob Prince, and Lannie Fratare has a great follower. Greg Brown is a great announcer.
It's 2021, out of all the talent in these clips the one we still have on the roster is freaking Polanco?!
My great grandma she’s 100 years old and loves the Pirates and always looks forward to watching them on tv. She told me once that God is keeping her alive so she can see win the championship one more time.
Steven Noel Maybe this is our year man, I hope
Stefan Rascio hope so myself
The first and last clip were back to back nights, it was insane
Imagine if Greg Brown was on MLB The Show.
Greg Brown is one of the few like able things about this franchise
If you need a hype man. This guy is your guy! As a lifelong Pittsburgh fan, there is nobody that can get you as excited about baseball.
“Theyre 2 1/2 out at the all star break”
Words I may not hear again
Man I love this guy. I'm not even a pirates fan but I've heard some of their other broadcasters and it's like joe buck got cloned a couple times
brought tears to my eyes. hell of an announcer greg is i miss the early 2010s buccos
I miss 2015 when we had 98 wins. 😔

rod BARRRRRAJJJAAAASS

I'm a Cards fan, and I gotta admit, this guy is pretty good
Absolutely fantastic calls by Brownie! He's the best.
Thank you very much for the video! I watch it every time I need to feel good about life.
I like Bob Walk and John Wehner, but Greg Brown is the man!
I love when Greg and Bob are on the broadcast...those guys really make the games fun.
Thanks for this video lots of good memories
Brings back some awesome memories. Love Greg Brown! Can't wait to watch the Bucs in contention again.
We need to achieve this greatness again!
These calls are amazing
Brings back memories. Brings chills and tears as well.
Always have ...always will be a Buccos fan and Greg Brown fan. Dude is the best.
Thank you for making this! Brownie is the goat!
I remember him on radio calls for the Buffalo Bills LONG ago with Van Miller. Like calling the 35-3 comeback. What a Legend
I'm a Red Sox fan and this guy has me so excited! haha I love baseball!
there's nothing like hearing Greg Brown call a game.
I listen to him every game on MLB radio. His “Raise the Jolly Roger” call is one of the best I have ever heard.
Lived in PA for one year...Yankees fan here and MAN I WAS PISSED WHENEVER GREG WASN'T CALLIN THE TV GAMES !
This guy reminds me of Dave Niehaus from Seattle Mariners history.
In fact; I'd say he's carrying on Niehaus' legend of knowing exactly when to take it into overdrive with big moments.
It just makes me smile.
This still gets me so hyped
Greg Brown DEFINITELY needs to call the World Series over Joe Suck.
He'd have an actual heart attack if the pirates ever made it to the world series
This is so amazing
Hall of fame announcer, hall of fame person. A true gentleman and all around nice guy
Sends goosebumps down me spine
Loved this
It's a martay partay
Those were fun times. Too bad you won't be hearing many of them in the near future.
I can watch this all day everyday
that was awesome. I love the Buccos
Greg brown is the best announcer ever for the pirates
When Brownie grew up he listened to the Gunner and Lanny
Great video! You should have also added Jason Michaels’ walk home run in 2008 against the Cardinals. Also one of his greatest calls
Great video...it captured the one positive thing Rod Barahahahahas did during his time in Pittsburgh
Red sox fan here, would be awesome to have this guy in the booth
Very passionate. I like him.
Great vid

I was at the game when Russell hit that 3 run HR in the 8th. 2nd best game I've seen live.
"You can raise the joly Roger "
i love it, is the best broadcaster for me ❤️

They will win 90 again soon

If Brown had announced when Clemente played his cannon ball comin phrase would have been for Roberto's throws!!
Absolute shame that such a talent is wasted with this organization. It's 2018 and nobody cares. Would go down as one of Pittsburgh's iconic anncrs of all time.
This guy is something else isn't he? He seems pretty intense in the game.
No 90 win
in chicago i remember watching it at home that play in the 9th My goodness that was insane!

What I wouldn’t give to hear this man call a World Series game
Hard to believe how good we were and how bad they are now. Nutting destroyed that franchise.
8:02 turn on captions
Pittsburgh has a great history of sports announcers
Josh ring my bell with a slammer against the cubs was awesome I was there that night it was awesome!
Is every mid-season win the seventh game of the World Series with this guy?
“Vetivelli Vetivelli Vetivelli!!!” Greg Brown-2015

Cueto Cueto Cueto, ball drops on the ground and I piss myself with laughter.
" And lets go flyin' " hehe
That first call is more a great "Steve Blass Moment," listening to the way he lost his mind on the Cutch HR.
