I saw them twice at the old Glasgow Apollo in 1977/78. They really blew the roof off the place. These were the sounds of a very special era when punk rock was emerging that will live with us older dudes for ever. Very sad Jet and Dave have both now left us. I can still listen to The Stranglers today as if it was 1978. They were a unique band, RIP Jet and Dave. The music will live on.
First band I really became a fan of, 1978, I was 15, bought 5 Minutes, then Rattus and Heroes lps for Birthday/Christmas. Then later Black and White. Great memories.
I actually got to talk to Hugh back in the 80's when they toured San Francisco, I called in to a Radio station and got straight thru (The Stranglers were not that known in US at the time). They put on a great show at the Kabuki Theater. Miss you Dave and Jet.
The 4 songs Jet played were on the Ruby Anniversary DVD as extra features. They decided to use a performance shot in Paris rather than another live DVD shot in the UK as they were offered a deal.
He's now been out the band longer than he was in it & the founding members seen here also preferred to go on without him along with the fans at this yet another sold out gig...Hugh is unable to fill a pub let alone an O2 venue, I don't see you as a founding member of The Stranglers so as such your opinion is of little consequence.
I know nothing of this group, and have only seen the 1986 TV rendition of this song. But this singer lacks the depth and sincerity of the original singer.
True. Of course true. But Suite XVI is still a pretty good record, and im glad i could see this band except for Jet many years ago. You know nothing, really? Try Rattus, NMH, Aural Sculpture, Feline, Raven, Suite, B&W, About time, La Folie, Rarities, Gospel according...
RIP Dave and Jet I was a Mod But I have always loved the Stranglers
RIP Dave &Jett ..Really one of the big bands ever.
The original 4 were great. More of a new wave band than punk. Their musicianship and intent always came through.
👌🏼
@grobbler1 hugh cornwell once said that we're too old to be a punk band.
Always brilliant, rest easy Jet Black ❤️
You're still putting out the beat Jet Black
No Hugh no good.
RIP Big man always the Sun always our main man Jet Black

Man , seen them at the Barrowlands a good few times over the 80s and 90s ..one of the tightest live acts I've ever seen .

One of my all time favourite bands RIP Jett and Dave
Huge fan for years. Saw them twice on the current tour. Still delivering but for me this was the best live line up, RIP Dave...
best line up was when hugh cornwell was still in the band.

Γεια σου Jet γίγαντα!
Jets last live performance (done 4 songs from memory), was at this gig and was filmed for DVD release which never materialised.
The 4 songs Jet played were on the Ruby Anniversary DVD as extra features. They decided to use a performance shot in Paris rather than another live DVD shot in the UK as they were offered a deal.
@@Nyquest do you think the whole Manchester gig will ever be released?
I had my own tribute band, The Manglers.
🙂
I remember seeing these in the Mayfair newcastle late 70s and were pelted with bottles because they thought they were seeing a punk band.
молодцы!!!
BRAVO AU BATTEUR👍
RIP le batteur, il était super
❤🎉😊
👏👏👏👏👏👏💯💯💯💯💯
Men are beautiful.
ロンドンレディが好きでした。
I actually liked Pauls version the best. I think he did it great

Jesus he’s no Cornwell.
Try and catch Hugh on his current tour, he's playing loads of these hits. No one can replace him
Where can i get this dvd?
Try direct from the band
220
is this the 80s STRANGLERS......????
I was excited to watch till I realized Hugh Cornwell couldn't be in this band
Well, without Hugh Cornwell's voice this just isn't it.
Totally agree ..... flat as a pancake. ..... 5 seconds in and disliked
Who is the singer???
Baz Warne
I like baz but Hugh had it going on
@@Mdemar70 Was he originally in the Toy Dolls
@@davidsnowdon7328 yes, he played bass
No Hugh no stranglers
daft
Lovely last hurrah. Hugh is missing though with his touch of class.
Hugh Alan Cornwell has no replacement
I am afraid he has as he quit the band 33 years ago, he's been replaced twice over so you should get out a bit more it's not 1990.
Most songs sound very well, but you can't replace Hugh on this one, looses it's charm/feel
In Serbia is awful.Communism.I am pacifist.Learning C programming, advanced level.Thank You. 😊
Be sure to get your pointers working correctly.
L Original avec le chanteur du clip je préfère cette version...
bof
I love it but Hugh was the better singer I love being strangled always have
Hugh Cornwell please .... just not the Stranglers without him ....sorry but dreadful
