I just built the 4x4 Umg. What a great project. I added the 2 speed to mine. Still waiting on a motor & lights to come in mail. Went with a 35 Turn. It’s sooooo much lighter then my TrX4 sporty.
This is cool to see. I'm currently making an RC Ural style scale truck from scratch that's long wheelbased too. My wheel base is around 450mm or 17" still early stages but enjoying it. Would like to see more of this Josh :)
Too funny, was looking at picking up a UMG10 6x6, chopping it down to a LWB 4x4 Mog build and then found out their discontinued. I was looking at just doing a build with a gladiator chassis (since it already has the portals) came across this videos and I think a similar route might be more fun. Tamiya 1/14 scale semi carrier bearings should also work well mounted simply to a second belly pan as another driveshaft extension option. Very cool build!
I need a Becky! I like the Dakar racer idea, but an obscure county maintenance vehicle appeals to me as well, maybe with some weathering, Expand your paint and body horizons!

This is almost the exact project I’ve been working on. (Among about 8 others.) I don’t have your fabrication assets so I’m using off the shelf parts. I am using a Honcho bed for mine instead. Nice to see that I’m not the only one that builds unique rigs.

Im not sure if its the roll bar playing tricks with my eyes but it looks like the rear bed goes downhill slightly. Regardless its a sweet build and I'm always very impressed with all your custom parts.
Yes it is. I’m working on this same build. I think it has something to do with the printed mount part because mine is doing the same. I’m working on a revised part to correct it.

Maybe something like a Dutch rescue vehicle.. as orange 🍊 is the colour you're choosing.. and orange if I'm not mistaken is a colour their soccer team uses..and if you google Dutch mountain rescue vehicle I spotted an orange van.. with checker emergency vehicle stickers..

I really like how you mounted the Body! I want to try a hinge in front, but using your pin mounts at the back of the Cab. Just seems like Batry access would be just a little easier.

The JT is just under 14” I believe so it may be pretty hard to get a proper match without new links in the rear. The JT already has pretty low amounts of triangulation so reducing it even more could really exaggerate the side to side play. It’s hard to say for sure.
@@HarleyDesignsInc right so I’m thinking making up shorter rear links from my extra parts while extending the belly to accommodate the rear links while pushing back the axle a little will that work then I want to wrap the belly with an aluminum plate to make one flush drag plate to reduce hang up points what do you think mi bro???
You should hit up Knight customs for one of their grilles. Makes the front end look so much better.

It’s a fun change of pace 😁
The long wheel base makes the truck climb up steep grades really well. My 1/6th truck climbs better than any of the 1/10th scale rigs because it has a 19" wheel base. So this is a cool build.
Yeah the big climbs are fun with a wheelbase! Just have to hope there is an easy break over at the top 😂
The Grunts don't flex very well. I had to go with slightly undersize foams and "soft" Lil' Novas....softs for in the rear anyway because I run dually's.

The only issue i could see with it is the lower link mounts for the rear hanging up on anything thats going to be a tight spot.
Yeah anything this long I would expect to hang on things. The skid extension should help but I definitely don’t expect shocking performance 😂😂
@@HarleyDesignsInc touche, yeah it looks like the skid will definitely help a ton. Still a really cool idea. Maybe for the paint scheme have it match your tamiya with the stripes down the side to haul it on a trailer?

I need to do a final video on it, but never did. I still have it and it’s pretty much finished.
That thing is awesome but the rear body/frame doesn’t look level with the cab. Either the back is too low or the front is too high.

My OCD can't get passed the gap between the top of the roll bar and the cab...
I bet it’s flex in the chassis making it look worse when it’s on the stand. Once the weight is on the tires it probably looks the way it should.
on my stock scx10 ii the drive shaft rubs on the transmission
I ran into it on my Honcho too, so it didn’t shock me either.

You should get a HW 1080
The dynamite is just a HW1060, the difference really isn’t big enough for me to worry about right now. The 1080 is definitely what I would have bought if I didn’t have this lying around.
