I've discovered this vid is amazing when you turn the sound off on this vid and have amazing grace playing on the bagpipes as the soundtrack

Yes, visiting Sir Berekley from the Middleton Railway in Leeds

@redsquirrel724 It's a temporary measure for the 50th anniversary as far as I'm aware. It will be restored when she has a full overhaul, as she's too comercially valuable to be seen for long in anything else.

Sussex, near Lewes / East Grinstead / Haywards Heath. Check the railway website for the details on how to get there

A great video. A got a few videos too and haven't seen so many kettles in use at one time. Shame Met no. 1 and Sir Berkerley had problems preventing them to be in the cavalcade.

80151 had worked the down Golden Arrow Pullman train just before the cavalcade and was unable to return to Horsted in a path before the cavalcade if they wanted a 6pm finish

@ExcaliburLink Sir Berkeley (the small green industrial one) had run a hot axle-box during the weekend and it was decided not to risk it running around too much, as such it was posed for photographs while the others ran in the cavalcade.

@redsquirrel724 Stepney is currently out of service, having been withdrawn with the expiry of her boiler ticket in 2008. However, she is currently undergoing an overhaul and a repaint into the original black livery as part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations this year. She's due to return to service in the next couple of weeks.

Nice vid! Those steam engines are amazing, especially their whistles. Did you see a lot of foreign tourists when you visited this place?

Where was 80151 in all this? Also a good vantage point can be to exit Horsted Keynes and turn left and keep following the road you will find a residential car park there should be a path heading down through some woods where there is a gate by the lineside, it can be a good spot to take photos of trains heading out of H.K.

@Smoofie92 Sorry, Stepney trio? There are only two Terriers on the Bluebell (Stepney and Fenchurch), Boxhill is at the NRM. There's about 11 in total preserved in various places.

In general all locomotives are referred to as being a "she" by railwaymen, regardless of what sex the Rev. Awdry ascribed to them or indeed what name they have applied.

Mmmm... playing trains really. Still; after all the blood sweat and tears that goes into Heritage Railway operation, I think we can grant them that! (p.s. been active in this field since 1982, so believe me, I know...)
