This, but swap the kilt for wood leg armor, it gives just enough rad protection to be at the level of a snow hazzy so you can run monuments like launch with 0 issues.
true I think you can run miltuns with wood legs swapped in, if not its wood legs + leather gloves
switch the gloves first. If he has leather gloves or tac gloves he will have enough as well, it keeps leg protection

IRL, boots are the number one item to protect you from the cold, because heat escapes way faster through your feet touching the ground than anything else touching cold air.
If Facepunch add this element of physics realism, boots would become the number 1 snow item.
But until then, yes, barefoot with hoodie and jacket is great. Rust logic.
Just in case this helps anyone IRL:
1. boots (preferably waterproof) and thick warm socks
2. thick neckscarf (fully covering all around neck)
3. thick beanie/woolly hat/anything to keep your head warm
4. gloves (keep hands warm)
5. upper torso coverage (hoodie/jacket/anything!
6. everything else

Every winter I have to deal with -20 degrees celcius, so I'd say a proper hat is number 1 the most important. Considering we have a functioning brain and we wear at least some kind of shoes when leaving the house.
Most of the heat is escaping from ur body through your head (look it up from biology books).

what is even good about frog boots?
hoodie, pants, boots, metal facemask, jacket, wood leg armour, tac gloves is my favourite. metal face mask to save you from a bolty headshot. 38 cold protection and 28 rads is enough to run missile silo without taking rads.

Kilt if you wanna pvp wood armor if you wanna run mil tuns or silo
My go to is basically the same, except with wood legs and I like to wear a poncho with a hoodie - and tac gloves instead of roadsign. Also everything is camo skinned, and I always build in forested areas, so I can conpensate for my shit pvp skills by being an invisible ninja :)
Tac gloves instead of roadsign is a big plus.
Wood legs is great, but once you can afford it the kilt is a good trade in for more PVP
Lol when you log back in all trees farmed and there's a big tower with windows in front of your base. That's more like rust I'd say.
All the trees gone, tower outside your base, PLUS an army of naked grubs when you long on comp bowing out any visible turret in your base. Love the forest area. 🤣

The classic fit. If you can swing riot hat or coffee can its a good sub for wolf heads. Those damn dogs can be hard to find sometimes
I think the only thing needed to make this kit perfect is to replace the roadsign gloves with leather. This gives you enough rad protection for the launch site rocket and missile silo, and gives you enough cold protection for the snow at night as long as you aren't wet.

Yup same, but i personally swap the roadsign gloves for tactical gloves, helps with the cold

It's decent but toooo much hassle. Getting the Wolves takes (or used to take, dunno if they changed it) a lot of inventory space while being unreliable to get that specific animal. It's more likely than getting a coffee can helmet, ofc. but depending on Skin choice that Wolf Dress Bandana combo is also much more noticeable when camouflaging.
Sewing kits could become an issue with this, it's better to change the roadsign gloves for the outpost ones if you can efford them for even more cold protection and the bonus accuracy when aiming.
Honestly though, it's not THAT much of a step up from a basic Hazmat, Pay2Win skin if you need cold protection with the negative that Hazmat has boot sounds. (Which never have been a problem for me personally)
Honestly, the coffee can helmet is underrated though, you could totally cut down on component costs, since it's super cheap to make and you can swap the kilt for say wooden legs and boots for the same effect.
Swap head for miners cap if not in snow. If your wep has flashlight + miners cap its actually insanely blinding and disorienting when double flash lighted.
Cons: no cold resist like wolf heady.

Throw frog boots on and you have enough rad protection for most monuments including missile silo or military tunnels
yea those froggies are pretty good, you can even rock full metal face / chest and still hit enough rads with (I think) wood legs + tac gloves while wearing frog boots
I made a spreadsheet a while ago to calculate which armor was the most effective.
Hazmat = 3 AK and 3-5 SMG/Pistol calibers to the chest. 1 shot to the head boltie any distance.
Jacket & Hoodie + Coffee Can (bandana + wolf hoodie is the same) = 3 AK shots and 4-7 SMG/Pistol calibers to the chest. 1 shot to the head with boltie
Nah, Full metal can eat 4 bullet and roadsign with gloves also can take 4 bullet from Ak
I’ve survived a headshot from a boltie with wolf head gear and bandana
Also has good melee protection, for when that random bear pulls up on you mid fight or grubby naked with a mace
If you need a kit like that to defeat someone with a mace you have other things to worry about…

riot and bandana is a good substitute for wolf or coffee can, 30% gun ad 80% melee
amazing for underwater fights, and IIRC fairly cheap to craft if you have the bp?
I prefer Hazmat with heavy metal in hot bar at 1-3, I put the metal on and hazzy goes to 6, with meds 4 and gun at 5.

For me it's metal face mask and boots instead of headdress and bandanna mainly for the gap of having 35% and 50% head protect

my fav kit is bone armour (25% all over) 100 bone frags and 30 cloth
no rad protection
Been running this kit for years
wetsuit, riot helmet, and bandana and you can roam tier 1 without stupid melee grubs sneaking up as it has 100% melee reduction until the helmet breaks
My favorite outfit is a special hybrid that does well at protecting from both bite and ballistic attacks.
The roof boltys wet dream… one hit kill.
This is the exact kit I run almost all the time. Plus the skins for all these items are dirt cheap for the most part.
Research riot helmet if you don't wanna deal with wolf farming
the same here, altho I like the wetsuit rather than panths and hoodie, good for rads and for cold/wet climate, a pair of leather shoes and a wooden leg protection, it's ok :)

Best is still ninja suit für beginning. It's so OP. Black, cheap, and enough Rad protect for most spots.
Egg suit requires no workbench, requires exactly the same resources as ninja suit and will be in store rotations within this month (Easter)

Only head protection i ever use:
Boonie hat bandana 20% (15cloth)
Bone helmet 25% (30 bone frags and like 10 cloth idr)
Wolf head bandana 35% (wolf skull 15 cloth)
Coffeecan 35% (some frags, cloth and i think 2 sewing kits)
Facemask 50% (15hqm? 6 sewing kits and 50 leather)

Surgeon suit, only 60 cloth and 2 sewing kits you get 25% projectile protection everywhere, 30% melee, and nobody knows what youre wearing cause it looks weird.

Например когда есть только первый верстак или второй верстак не хочется тратить металолом на одежду когда его очень мало.
Килт надо заменить на деревянную броню для ног и вместо красной кофты одеть водолазку
