    I don't know why but I was taught to join a hat together for instance with a slip stitch. This is a million times better. Thank you!

    I am learning crochet and have used a good number of your videos. They are now my go-to for learning new techniques or stitches. Your videos are clear and concise and don't waste time with unnecessary chatter! I love that I can understand a new concept and get back to my project quickly. Thank you, and keep making awesome videos!

    THANK YOU ! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I am a volunteer member of a senior citizen knitting/crochet club. And we are making a baby blanket to donate to a charity. Our first attempt to stitch together the 4x4 inch squares looked horrible, so I took the entire project home, worked a single crochet border around each differently colored square and then searched YT for a relatively invisible seam. Your technique is perfect for our project! We will donate it with pride!

    This was the best example of how to do this stitch!! I have looked at so many examples today and got utterly confused. Between Pinterest, Google Search, videos, etc. But with yours I understood it quickly. Thank you!!!!!!

    This is such a clear tutorial. Thank you so much! Just one quick question: Is there a basic rule of thumb that would tell me how long of a strand of yarn to start with to make sure I can get across the whole piece? I plan to use this technique to sew a SCBLO ribbing onto the top and bottom of a blanket I made and I’m trying to figure out how long my yarn should be so I can do it in one shot. Thanks!

    • @mooglyblog
      @mooglyblog  Před 4 lety +5

      I like to cut the yarn about 2.5x the length of the seam!

    • @mooglyblog
      @mooglyblog  Před 5 lety +2

      Hi! After you've finished sewing, you just weave in both ends as you would if you'd been crocheting or knitting with it. :)

    Thanks so much for this video. It was very helpful. I'd love to see a video on how to do this into the sides of stitches. I can never get my seam to look right because I'm not sure where to put the yarn needle. There are no v's on the sides like there are at the top of stitches.

    • @tamarairene
      @tamarairene Před 10 lety

      Thank you for the suggestion! Basically you want to use clips or stitch markers to hold your pieces together to make sure the spacing stays even, and then eyeball it, trying to stay consistent - about the same as crocheting the edges together!

  • @mimismith7994
    @mimismith7994 Před 5 lety +1

    is this done with right sides together? or wrong sides as per a sweater that calls for mattress stitch on the sides?

    Do u have a video showing how to mattress stitch sides of crochet pieces?

    • @mooglyblog
      @mooglyblog  Před 3 lety +2

      No, but I would recommend using the same number of stitches as if you were crocheting a border - one stitch in the side of each sc row, 2 in dc, 3 in tr, etc. :)

      @@mooglyblog Loved this video. I’m no longer afraid of doing granny squares .Thx!
      BUT I do not understand your explanation above. 2 in.. 3 in..?
      What about the Turing chains when they are not counted.?
      Would love a video on joining sides. I have an unfinished sweater because my attempts at seaming are a disaster.
      😊. Love your Lunch time chats with a Yarnspiration BTW❤️

      @@sheiladale6802 Thanks so much! When seaming things, it's fine to sew into the turning chain - you're just sewing along the edges of each piece.
