I am sorry for the loss of John and I am also very sorry for the way this museum got torn apart ! IF THIS WAS a 501 c3 ( Non Profit) and the bikes were transferred to the "museum" then it would live on ! It is a very serious shame it got sold to pieces and no longer exists. Protect the long run ! It takes years and years to establish such great collectibles and it should have ALL been transferred to a 501 c3 and then at that point the Board of Directors would establish a continuum of sorts OR they could transfer to another 501 c3 that is established so that a great collection could NEVER BE TORN APART. DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN IF YOU HAVE A GREAT LOCATION AND COLLECTION !! DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN !!! VERY BIG SHAME TO SELL IT ALL OFF !

Agreed! This museum was arguably one of the most complete collections of its kind this side of the world. I went last summer and I was behind a guy who was a complete jerk to the front desk. Telling her he was a part of a motorcycle club who had stuff displayed there on loan and demanded their stuff be recovered right away and not have to pay the nominal admission fee for him and his few guests to go through the museum to enjoy it for the day. What a tool!

Damn!!! Had to retire when covid hit(bad lungs) and just 30 days ago bought a travel trailer. Planned on next winter putting my 1956 pan chopper (bought it as dresser in 1977 and chopped it winter 77/78, still looks the same as my last build of it in 1980) in the back of my truck and haulin ass south from northern minn. First stop planned was Annamosa!!! Damn!!! Lot of J&P parts on that bike through the years. Wanted (HOPED) to show John some of the parts that came from him starting way back when that kept my bike what it was through all these years. Had not heard of Johns passing. RIP bro! It’s so sad to see a piece of Americana and all these old beautiful & innovative motorcycles locked away again in a private collection, gone from the motorcycle enthusiasts who appreciate them and many of these bikes that would inspire a new generation of motorcycle designers/ builders. It took years to gather these ground breaking bikes in one spot for People to enjoy. They’ll probably never be assembled in one place again for people to enjoy! Sad day in motorcycle history!

The Twingle (1965 Allstate SGS250) from this auction (1:00:00) has made its home with us. We have gone through it, replacing anything from gaskets to fluids to part upgrades and it runs like a dream. We knew nothing about Allstate until we got this little guy from the auction, learning along the way (it is actually an Austrian Puch in disguise). It is a super simple, dependable, utilitarian bike and has been a great project.

John should have donated all his bikes and building to a 501 c3 ( non profit organization) so that they would be in constant show and never sold and could be run and operated by a board of directors. Way too sad that they needed the money that much to tear down the history of the memorabilia and great collection. This should have NEVER happened. History over MONEY ! It is fair and just that Jill should benefit from the collection that they had because she is the lady who made the whole enterprise prosper. It's true that the people you meet are the ones that are truly remembered and loved at the end of your life, so thanks for introducing such a brilliant lady to a broader audience! She's a gem!

1976 Suzuki GT750A was my first bike! My buddy bought a brand new GS750E, red. Man, that was such a smooth, fast bike! My Waterbuffalo seemed like it weighed twice as much as his GS750E.
The sound of that GT750A, with my helmet on, was as if my Suzuki was running on a giant beehive! It was a lot of fun.
My buddy and I were on our way to see our Army recruiter when I couldn't make the hairpin corner that I've been through a million times! I made the mistake of passing a Volkswagen Rabbit when I realized the left hand hairpin corner was coming up on me way too soon. The front end washed out and I hit the dirt shoulder and down the 20 foot bank into a swamp!! All I could see was the sky, then the swamp, sky, swamp, sky, swamp as I flew end over end and all the cattails exploding as I tore through them...lol
The bike landed upside down while the motor was screaming wide open! Smoke was pouring out the exhaust as the back wheel was bouncing and spinning!
Broke my right collar bone and cracked my Bell full face helmet. Needless to say I wasn't able to go into the Army for another 18 months!
    What a fun bike!

At 59:59 this is basically an Austrian Puch 250 SGS, but sold in USA as a Sears..I had one for a year, the engine is a 2 stroke split single with 2 pistons on one connecting rod. It handled & braked very well & would easily keep up with a cb72 250 Honda at the time

Looks like in early 10 th, 20th were bike factorys in every town...sounds like today E bicycle factorys.
NO reserve...imagine to buy az 900 fror 5000 $. Thats no money. Too sad that its allways so far away. In germany these bikes are very rare so its not a bad idea to buy in US and sell in germany, but there are some costs more (export/import, custom, transport).
I like CycleDrags Auction vids, youre a nice guy and i feel your "gasoline filled heart" for these Bikes...
Too sad to sell it all no reserve, all must go and close a cool museum for ever. But: Its sure that every bike got a new, good home.
