A NEW Lawsuit from the CS2 workshop community may be on its way to Valve as we speak. Within the last week, the sticker “Loving Eyes HOLO” has just found out to be stolen, which now the original creator is on its way to FILE a DMCA and possible potential LAWSUIT. Questions have arisen if this sticker will be FULL out replaced similar to the AWP doodle LORE or will this become CONTRAND. Today's video we discuss the Position more in depth and BREAKDOWN Valve’s NEXT action.

Sticker has now been dmcad and valve took down the workshop submission
Last time I checked it was going for 3$ on the steam market now its 9.75
If everyone could turn off skins everyone would do it and stop buying skins

Anime eyes were not invented by that artist, yeah they are similar but I feel like that would be hard to prove in court. There’s probably like hundreds of other drawings similar to that around the internet

It has nothing to do with M4A4 | Howl, it's a sticker, where complete redesign may destroy many skin crafts (other weapon skins people may own), so I think they will do the same scenario as with King Of Field sticker...

the question should be: was the artwork that was allegedly stolen transformative enough to 'elude' copyright infringement? if tracing one eyelash and copying to the other eye would infringe the others right then, yes. if the entire style and framing is copyrighted then maybe. how 'original' should something be before it be considered noninfringement? i mean, we are influenced by popculture, some media more than the other. consider this: should legal artistic expression be entirely uninspired or 'original'? i think in this case the eyelash was a bit too far, but from what i've seen - every other part of this piece is transformative.
edit: to continue this thought - on part of the 'original' artist that is supposedly being 'stolen' from; the anime style isn't completely original, especially the fleshy eyelash in pop art style. on the other hand the one eyelash was clearly traced.
edit 2: a parody of a parody of a parody etc etc etc... the most damning thing about this is the aspect ratio in my honest opinion, and would that itself have 'less' culpability if the frame of the sticker was 3:2 instead of 3:1.

Funny that valves are purposely doing this just to stay relevant and hype anything they could. Instead of fixing the game and giving their players a "real" update.
