WHERE is the factory xm antenna and HOW to use it with aftermarket radio for SIRIUS XM
This is a car audio how to tutorial that will show you how to remove the factory/OEM sirius xm satellite antenna from the xm tuner and use that antenna for your aftermarket sirius xm ready radio.
1st I found the xm tuner box which was behind the glove box
2nd take the box out and disconnect factory sat antenna
3rd use the maestro SAT1 adapter so it can plug into the sirius xm v300 tuner
4th plug the tuner in the aftermarket radio

Is there a way to connect antenna to the 8pin in back of aftermarket stereo without doing all this? Has to be a wire conversion… since my factory tuner already has the paid for a year subscription?

What would help me immensely is figuring out how to use the OEM tuner with an aftermarket stereo. The existing wiring harness and the aftermarket DIN connector have the same number of wires....

Why did you remove the xm module? Are there benefits to installing svx?
I have 2012 silverado, it has a fin antenna from factory, and I have xm subscription to my factory radio.my question is: can I use xm module factory, or do I need upgrade to svx, if I install an aftermarket kenwood head unit xm ready radio?

Great vid! I have a question. My SiriusXM radio in my 2020 pathfinder is no longer detecting a signal. Seems it might be an antenna issue, because if it was a subscription problem, I would still be able to get the preview at least. There’s no sound coming through, and the display says no SiriusXM signal detected. Do you think this would be a problem with the shark fin antenna on top of the vehicle? Or is there something like SiriusXM tuner behind the glove box of a 2020 pathfinder?

Good vid!. I have a similar setup, replaced OEM head unit in 2012 Corvette with Pioneer unit and added SiriusXM module using OEM antenna… Problem I’m having is when I drive East/West, regardless of surroundings the signal drops sporadically, when I drive North/South signal does not drop at all… thought. I’ve talked with XM. And had signal reset several times with no fix. Also XM says that module is functioning properly… thoughts… I don’t think change it to a different head unit would matter?

Hi JP; Quick question - Do you know if there is a splitter adapter for purchase for the satellite antenna? The OEM antenna on the Jeep Compass is a dual antenna for both Sirius and GPS; and I would love to use it be able to plug it into both the gps port on a new head unit and also get a Sirius tuner. Thanks for your help.

I have this same problem. 2008 Audi TT convertible with the OEM Symphony radio, which has a “SAT” button on it but when selected the radio says “not available”. I’ve read this year of this make/model were wired for sat radio but the receivers were not always installed. So, while I would like to use my existing OEM sat radio antenna and cable to connect to my new Alpine iLX-W650, I don’t even know if I have a factory sat antenna and cable installed. I’m not even sure where to start looking. Advice?

My 2014 Chevrolet Impala Limited LT has factory SiriusXM installed and the module is located in the trunk. I replaced the factory radio with an aftermarket Kenwood DDX57S. I want to be able to use the OEM antenna, but there is no adapter that can run from the trunk to the back of the new radio. I really don't want to install another antenna if I don't have to. Any suggestions?

Hi, i have a 2016 chevy tahoe and when i first purchased the car, xm would always work. Recently, my screen was breaking down and my stations would change on its own, my calls via bluetooth would drop. Long story short, i took it to a chevy dealer and they had to replace the lcd screen. Now after the replacement, the dashboard screen says no xm signal - reception may be blocked. I took it back and the dealer says nothing is wrong which is quite bothersome. But what could be the issue and how can i fix it?

Jp, have a question have a new Sirius XM antenna moved my Tacoma about 10 foot and it died, go from tuner to SiriusXM and says check tuner, does it mean I need new tuner? Was going to take out my radio anyway to put in the back up cam mod and the micro bypass and then zip tie and clean up wires. And make a harness so it looks cleaner. Any help you can give be appreciated

Anytime your radio says check tuner then it's the tuner that has gone bad or malfunctioning if it was the antenna the radio would say check antenna. If you installing a new radio and want siris use the v300 adapter to bypass your factory tuner
