    Hello my friend from the rising sun Japan. I moved north part of Japan a year ago and the winter is freezing here. I gave up 75 % of my cactus plants when I moved and 15% died. I’m trying to build it up slowly but winter kills off some. Anyways keep up the great videos. There are not many cactus to sell in the town where I’m living now compared to the Tokyo area where I could find many.

    Thanks for sharing these tours!! Lowes is one of the places I look for plants. Nothing much yet but tropical plants. I did buy a very small austrocylidropuntia subulata at Walmart. I have the monstrose type but not normal type so I got this one. Love that nursery!!! Enjoy your mangave!!! I have two. Purple people eater & pineapple express. I don't know how they handle cold as I keep them in the greenhouse. Those aloes sure were bright!!! Nice selection you picked!!! From Morris Park in the Ozarks, out to Las Vegas, have a wonderful day!!! Peace,Love, Plants!!!✌️💖🌵🥀🌳🏵🌿🌸🌷🌱🌲🌹🌴🌾🌻🪴💐🍀😃👍

    What a bountiful place to shop for cacti and succulents! I wish we had places like that here 😢 The terracotta! We get about one shipment of terracotta pots into our local stores and they are nothing fancy. Just standard stuff.

  • @ellietobe
    @ellietobe Před rokem +1

    Our local Lowes is a plant killer. No one buys indoor plants there unless they have only been there very few days. I was there in early December looking for an Amaryllis. They had one shelf of succulent arrangements there that they wanted a fortune for sitting in front of the door that goes outside to the outdoor items. It was about 20 degrees and people kept opening the doors on all of the indoor plants. 😬
    We have to drive quite a ways to get decent plants.

    • @CactusCaffeine
      @CactusCaffeine  Před rokem

      Oh, 20 degrees is too cold for many succulents. 😳 Similar thing happens here but in summer. Those that are kept outside under full sun don’t make it longer than a week before they wilt and burn. People need to buy them quick.

    Really nice nursery, such healthy plants and good prices. At the 4:37 mark what are those plants to the left of the small-leaved elephant bush. The ones with bigger leaves, in front of the 2nd sign that says $12.88. I have one of those I bought at a big box store and my label says "Portulacaria afra, Spekboom elephant bush". I was wondering if it was accurate. It grows wonderfully inside for me in a large planter. Thanks for taking us along. You got some nice plants. I have a Manfreda but of course I keep mine inside in SW VA.

    I went cactus shopping last week and picked up a corn cob cactus! I'd never seen anything like it before, it had no id from the store so I did an image lookup to find out. (Euphorbia mammillaris). I got a mammilaria arizona snow cap last winter actually.

    Hi Ana. Just a quick question, is Uebelmannia pectinifera difficult to maintain for beginners? I remember watching one of your videos wherein you featured this cactus as one of your hauls. One of my favorite sellers have a couple of this currently available but I don't want to get one only for it to die because I'm still not very experienced in maintaining the challenging ones. Thanks!

    • @CactusCaffeine
      @CactusCaffeine  Před rokem +1

      I’ve only had mine for less than a year so I can’t really say how it is. But I am told that it likes more of a tropical environment. That means it likes to be not too cold nor too hot.
