Finally I get the white version to complete my collection. Which is your favourite and why?
Hyper
A little note after a few months of use. Be very careful with them when you travel. I bought them with a protective case where it fits. And I accidentally dropped it out of a bag (probably a 50 cm drop) while they were attached and now they constantly disconnect while using them. They still work as a reasonable pro controller replacement. But if you buy them and travel with them ALWAYS keep them disconnected when travelling so you don't risk connection issues.
thx for the advice, i’m interested in potentially buying the controller
Note to self “don’t drop them”. Good advice 👍🏻
Ordered the transparent ones yesterday, cant wait !
Hey, can you reply to this and tell me if theyre good when you get them? I am getting my gf into gaming and she never experienced the classic Nintendo see theough consoles or the Xbox or ps2 transparent controllers so I am thinking of getting those ones
@@resolutecub9977 same
@@resolutecub9977 Very happy with them ,grip is so nice ,not to bothered about the lights , mine were the Athena ones ,slightly different shape to the hyperions ,when i ordered didn't know there were 2 models , anyway im more than happy with them.
@HalloweenJack class, thank you. Just bought a guitar yesterday, so can set my sights on Hyperions now and a nice new case
I ordered the black Hyperions last month ( nine days EU delivery), I'm pretty happy with them. Not a huge fan of clicky buttons (L and R mainly), but that's just something I will have to get used to. Massive improvement over the Nintendo JoyCons anyway!
Hey, were you by any chance directed to a sketchy package tracker by your order? I’m curious if I’m just too skeptical.
@@actualtrashpile I was, but it seemed to work ok-ish
@@ppbunt Thanks for the quick reply.
I’ll keep that in mind. Much appreciated for a little bit of info.
The 9 day delivery, is that the premium delivery option or the free delivery option? Just ordered something from them a couple days ago and want to get an idea of how quick their delivery services are.
@@Mvxzzz This was normal free delivery!
Nintendo was very smart or lucky that they made modular controllers!
what does modular mean?🤔
@@Coleecoolprobably means that you can remove the controllers from the console unlike Steam Deck where it is fixed
The name is self explanatory. Modular , as in made with or by modules. Module 1, module 2 ,and so on. Like lg g5 was .First modular phone. Had one .
These things makes gaming on the switch so much better and amazing. Cant play without anymore
Hi! I had a question because i can't decide between the hyperion or athena. Main concern is grip or comfort. The design in the new hyperion has a bit of a cut so that you can stand it. The athena is more rounded. Do you notice a difference in comfort due to this new design?
Just bought the black and currently waiting for them to ship
Can you use them on steam ? I can't make them work on my pc. Where can I update the firmware (pc) ?
Just found you and I love your videos and Subscribed! But I went to order the Black ones with your discount code and these are all sold out now! 😢
Yeah, these are quite popular. I think they’ll be back soon. Worth waiting for. Cheers 👍🏻
Now “aaaaii” 4:09🤣🤣🤣
How do these fit in the big satisfye case? Your other review of the Athena joy cons said these were a tiny bit wider and I just ordered the case
It’s not a great for especially as the satisfye case is moulded to the grip.
These seem like great pro-controller alternatives. I just wonder how good they are individuallt as controllers.
Someone on reddit said the transparent ones are newer and have updated tech - is that true? The LED light setup is different so maybe they're like a v1.5?
The only difference I can tell is literally the lights. The rest you’d be hard pushed to tell unless under a microscope next to each other.
I’m waiting for the HE versions.
@@CTAtechdeskAre they confirmed to be coming?
weird that the clear model doesn't have the led strips near the middle like the solid cased ones
Are those compareable to skull and co grips comfortwise? I love my skull and co grips but dont like the standard joy cons that much
Both are very comfy but feel these have more uses.
@@CTAtechdesk thank you for the quick response, amazing. In germany the Hyperion are over 70 Euro, the Athena, Gen 1 60 Euro or below, are the Hyperion worth the extra? thx in advance
Are they a hard matte/smooth cheap plasticy feel or are they somewhat soft touch?
The quality is surprisingly very good, not sure if you ever owned a Nyxi pair (maybe the Athenas) but these are far superior than the older models. It is a matte material (for the black ones) whites I'm not sure as I don't own a pair
Update: I just got the white ones and can confirm same material as the black. Only thing is that the LED colour always reverts back to the red if you don't use your switch for more than a few hours. It happened with the black ones also
I recieved mine a few days ago, and i was wondering if you had the same problem which is when I slide the right joy con on the middle part it's kinda hard (I have to push hard to put it in)
have the same issue, right control rail is too tight
Started off a bit stiff but it’s ok now. Tbf was never really “too tight”.
Yea they are cheap plastic and hesrd not nesr as smooth. To cheap for me for the 60 price tag. Ill rather referb some joycons and dpad shell swap.
Can you do a review of the Retroflag controller for the Nintendo Switch and can you do a comparison and which one is better
Ive seen it, just not bought it yet. I will soon I’m sure. 👍🏻
Would like to order one but I'm also thinking maybe they'll release ones with HE. Do you have any prediction when will it be?
I’d like to think so but I have no idea if they are or not.
What does HE mean?
@@ItsMeWafflez Hall effect (no stick drift) joysticks
They just did, but a pro controller
Is this the best alternative to using default joycon?
100%
@@CTAtechdesk Thanks very much.. Is this good to detach to play Splatoon accurately for motion control when holding one in each hand?
@@CTAtechdeskThis is all anyone needs to know. Thanks for the review *and* this response.
I just wish Nintendo would make a joy con pro
Do they have gyro amd is it good ?
Very nice comparison. Which is better for handheld gaming NYXI Hyperion or Skull & Co Evo? Charging via dock and maybe playing docked from time to time.
They are both excellent. I tend to use the Nyxi more.
Is the texture on the back more smooth on the clear version?
Yes it is
What’s the difference between the Hyperion and Athena
I heard Hyperion is better
Just ordered the transparent ones and didnt even th8nk to check the CZcams reviews 🤦🏾♂️
Although I did read some reviews, so I'm not going in completely blind. I think I should be fine.
They’re ace. You’ll love them
@@CTAtechdesk*Update:* You were right. Absolutely love them. They're life changing.
Hi everyone i bought the hyperion one week ago, they are very good bad the dpad has a little problem after one week of usage the right sometines dont work so i must press it harder, any solution???
If you believe it’s faulty send it back. They’ll replace it
it's basicly a rebranding of the nyxi hyperion so i think i cant send it back ,thank you anyway@@CTAtechdesk
Where is the discount code?
Any control with a Hall sensor?
Yes, the newly released Nyxi Hyperion Pro - Google it for more info.
I've had the black ones for a few months now, and while they do feel pretty nice, and i still prefer them over joycons, i do have a few nitpicks to say about them.
The RGB lights reset back to default color (red) after a while, so each time you have to manually change them back to your preferred color.
The rumble is honestly a nuisance. I knew it wouldn't be the HD rumble like in joycons while ordering Hyperions, but come on. The rumble is REALLY loud, and it's really inconsistent. The left joycon has a much weaker rumble than the right one, to the point, where even if i set the left joycon to the strongest vibration setting, and the right one to the weakest, the right one still has a stronger rumble (although it may just be the case in my joycons).
Besides that, the back buttons don't really uh... "unclick" if you know what i mean. Whenever i press them, they kind of just stay there. They don't get stuck, but it still feels a bit weird.
One of my biggest issues with Hyperions is the connectivity issues. Sometimes if i play on my Switch in wireless mode and go AFK for 5 minutes or more, the Hyperions just disconnect while i'm gone, and sometimes they refuse to connect wirelessly to console again, so i have to connect them back to my Switch and take them out when they're connected in order for them to work again.
Aaaand my last issue is that... well... they just feel too light. Don't get me wrong, Hyperions feel pretty nice when i play on a handheld mode, because the weight of the Switch itself balances it out, but while playing in wireless mode with them, they just straight up feel cheap and hollow, because they have pretty much no weight on them.
Same gripes here in terms of the back button, rumble quality, and how light they are. Though my pair have the same vibration level on each, that's probably just an unfortunate issue for your pair.
Better that they’re lighter as that makes a difference when playing handheld - which is what most people will use them for. Any extra weight, when playing handheld, will lead to faster hand and wrist fatigue.
@@anhonestreviewer7015 Good point, didn't think of that as I usually rest my arms on a table, but my gripes with the buttons still stands.
Another complaint, the left one is "wobbly", not nice and snug like the right on when mounted to the switch or bridge.
@@CD480 Oh yea, i've noticed that as well after using Hyperions more. It's not too much of a nuisance, but yeah, the left one definitely feels more loose than the other one.
Is there a travel case that works with the hyperion?
Yea they have one on the site
@@thetophatfreak5627I like the look of the blue carbon case.
Can these be charged when they’re connected to the switch?
Does anybody know if these use Hall effect thumbsticks?
They don’t. Only the Wizards at the moment from Nyxi. HTH
@@CTAtechdesk have you experienced any drifted yet?
Can it connect to pc?
Does it work on switch sports ?
i haven't tried but they have motion control like normal joycons
transparent
Is this compatible to og switch??
Yes 👍🏻
How are the dpads?
the dpad is nothing spectacular but i don't mind it
@@Black10710 Thanks for the reply Can you play fighting games with the dpad?
@@sephpatrick it's probably better than using a joycon. i don't have fighting games on my switch, i'm just assuming
Mine was absolutely shite. I have the first version though not this one with that strip light.
binbok is going to create a new "gamecube" one. similar to the wizard. I am waiting your review and know if it fix in anycage. regards
Will be interesting. 👍🏻
Does it have motion sense for games like botw
Yes 👍🏻
Having major problems ordering these.Used different debit cards and paypal and they just won't except my order.Used paypal they took the money from my account ,next thing there refunding me!!
I oddly enough have two charges in my bank account for them but only ordered once. *I did* accidentally put in the wrong CVV the first time however.
My bank said it should be just the one by the time it finishes processing, but in the meantime that money still came out of my account? *Wth!?*
can these be used hands free?
yeah
Hi there. Do you mean away from the switch? Then yes.
Myself and my lad have the black ones, anyone know if you can get a replacement rail section to turn it into a ‘pro’ controller? The boy has misplaced his 😩
Take a look on Amazon. There are a load of 3rd party ones (won’t have Nyxi branding) that will work. HTH
Can each controller be used separately similar to the original joy cons (for, say, a 2-player game?)?
Yes they can
@@CTAtechdesk Which are more comfortable to play separately for 2 player games? The joycons or these?
@@sergiodsierraprob the joycons they were designed for that
Are these the replacements for the binbok joycons 😮
I’ve had Binboks. They broke 😂
TBF that’s my fault not theirs, I just prefer the NYXI and the variation on them
@@CTAtechdesk is the nyxi better? 🤔
@@MrMartellSincere I don’t know if you’re still looking for an awnser for this, but NYXI and BinBok use the same (or very similar) production companies for their controller parts from my understanding. So they should feel pretty similar to one another.
Why Do you Sound Like 128kb
Please don’t 😂
Why in God's name would you talk over clicking the buttons. It ruins the entire review
I just bought the Zelda Limited Edition Oled Switch and l need a pair for daily hardcore gaming i dont wanna ruin the paint on the limited joycons please dont be lying and paid sponsors
Ha ha. None of my videos have ever been paid for. 👍🏻
@@CTAtechdesk damn they deserve to sponsor you after buying all 3 😂send this clip in i bet they would love it
That switch would be perfect with the matte green joycons nyxi just came out with
