    Awesome video Zack! I did my commencement online too due to the pandemic. I attended the in-person commencement last year in Boston that Berklee provided for the classes of 2020 (my class) and 2021. I loved every moment of my online experience and can't recommend it enough especially for the reasons that you described in your video.

    hi Zack, thanks for sharing. Which bachelor's degree did you get at Berklee online? Did you mention this in the video? Didn't catch it.

      Thanks for watching my video! I went for their business program. And since you get to pick your own electives every semester, I took a bunch of production and recording classes.

    Zack, hello, god bless you! How's it going? I've got some questions,
    I was thinking of studing a bachelor's degree program on berklee online but i don't live in USA:
    1. Did you study a bachelor degree on berklee online?
    2.This bachelor is an online modality and implies different responsibilities than in-person studies. What advice could you give about responsibility, perseverance and autonomy when you're studying music in this online modality to graduate?
    3. Is it hard to pass the audition?
    4. My passion is music and I'm talented but I don't know much about theory, I know that to study a bachelor I have to prepare myself, what do u recommend to acquire a level that allows me to pass the audition, what study subjects?
    5. What's the cost of a bachelor's degree at Berklee?
    Sorry for all this questions haha i needed to ask and thank u so much for this video 😀😀 Greetings from Colombia!😊

      Hey Laura! Thanks for reaching out.
      1) Yes Bachelor's of Music Business
      2) Set aside the same time frame every day to work on your classes. I did 10am-1pm every day before work.
      3) Audition and interview are pretty relaxed. It's only part of the process.
      4) Don't overthink the audition. It really depends on the program that you were going for. But just remember that the audition is more or less to figure out where you're going to get placed in your classes versus how technically proficient you are.
      5) When I attended the classes were about 1500 US each. And each class is worth three credits. Each degree requires about 120 credits. Which means it's about 40 classes. Plus any materials that you will need. To put it into perspective it costs the same or less as a regular college here. And it is also 60% cheaper than going to Berklee in Boston itself. So you save a lot of money by doing it online and you have the flexibility of doing it at your own pace.
      Hope this helps!!!

      Music Business!

    • @guitarvirtuoduder

      Do you think you still got a good education for guitar while
      You were there? Or did playing guitar fall to the wayside as you studied music business? Asking because I want to be a great player but I think music business is the more sustainable career option to go for.

    • @ZackSeifMusic

      @@guitarvirtuoduder I didn’t go to Berklee for guitar so I can’t comment on that side of things. I took lessons for 9 years and got my Associates degree in Jazz Guitar before attending Berklee so I only wanted to focus on the business side of things while gigging at home.
      I was already 3 years into teaching lessons and was in 3 bands when I applied for Berklee Online but I felt like I wasn’t getting anywhere. So I got the degree and learned everything possible about management, booking, touring, finance, investing, contracts, lawsuits, recording and developing good daily habits.
      Then I sought out more gigs on my own and am currently working 4 music related jobs:
      Teaching 4 days a week, gigging 75-100 days a year, working as the USA Sales Manager and Artist Relations Manager for Quantum Industries, and I run this CZcams channel full time as well.
      Making a career as a musician is absolutely possible. But you need to WANT IT more than anything else. It’s not enough to just be a good guitar player or even a great guitar player. There are millions of us in the world. But I get work because I’m: reliable, have good habits, am a good hang, quick learner, know my gear inside and out, can sing backing vocals, can produce music, can co-manage and negotiate, and can set up an entire band’s backline and sound system.
      So the more versatile you are and the more connections you make, the better off you’ll be. I got all the work I currently have because I said Yes until I HAD to say No.
      Best of luck 🤞🏻 you can make your dreams come true

      Degree says Berklee College of Music. It’s the same school and similar application process.

    I went to Berklee in person for 2 years and couldn't finish because my debt got too high. Now years later I am considering finishing online at Berklee. I only have 17 more classes. Will my diploma have "Berklee online" on it or will it look the same as someone that went in person?

    did you find it annoying to read through lessons instead of just seeing a video and then doing something for the lesson? that's the one thing that is stopping me. having to READ. I rather watch and then do.

    • @ZackSeifMusic
      @ZackSeifMusic  Před rokem +1

      I didn’t mind the reading so much as it helped me understand the concept more deeply. There are plenty of videos to supplement as well though so it wasn’t too bad!

    • @ZackSeifMusic
      @ZackSeifMusic  Před rokem +2

      @@oscargt23 Think about it this way, you won’t get the most out of your education and money if you don’t read the supplemental material. Depending on the class you will have to read in order to do the weekly assignments. It’s not as much as you think, and if you really want to get the most out of each course, you’ll look forward to the reading because it’s hand selected selections for each weekly lesson. Hope it helps!
