Am I correct in saying, although you can fly helicopters either side, most seem to favour the side in line with the turning disk direction? I see a lot on the left for the 500?

Good question! Counter clockwise rotors tend to have the heli leaning to the left, clockwise rotors usually have you leaning slightly to the right. Like the AS350, the rotors spin clockwise, it requires more right pedal for the anti torque and a bit more right cyclic to hover, and you lean slightly to the right.
