Visiting Natural Habitat of Bucephalandra and Cryptorine

  • In this trip, we found some Bucephalandra and Cryptocorine in small river stream. The location is in Kapuas Hulu District, actually we go to see Tengkawang Trees.

    I'm a bornean native and it's still very hard to find here in Borneo. Where I live, it's literally impossible to find it in aquarium shops.

    Maaf om hanya masukan, boleh aja om hunting di alam, apalagi divideoin kayak gini, keren. Tapi please jangan kasih tahu nama lokasi & tempat-tempatnya. Ntar seIndonesia pada hunting, jadinya langka & ujung-ujungnya habitat terancam. okee.. masuk akal nggak??

      Siap bos, terkait dengan video ini, tempat yang saya kasih tahu hanya kabupaten, seperti yang umum digunakan untuk lokasi tanaman, tidak sampai site desa. Se-Indonesia huntingnya sama masyarakat lokal bos, Masyarakat lokal udah tahu dengan tanaman ini, jadi mereka yang jual sendiri keluar. Overall, terimakasih masukannya. :D

    Are these sustainably sourced? I know most importers don't care, so I see no reason why they would be, except for the knowledge and appreciation for these amazing slow-growing plants. Which is sad because money trumps any other need, especially if there is the potential to make it easily, like picking flowers.

      today, local people in heart of borneo has been cultivate this plant for commercial, because its stock in wild is verry rare now, due to unsustainable harvesting.

      No. They produce new branches or stems that crawl on which ever surface they are attached to.

      When I say leave them alone I'm talking large scale harvesting not picking a small number of plants.

    I thought you were appreciating…. just to see you’re poaching the plants from the wild, which is illegal if not very unethical because they’re endangered - dislike from me. Check your sources for those who farm Buce, and don’t take from nature like this sad person.
