I never played WoW, and I always felt like I missed a big portion of gaming

Lightninghoge It's just not the same as it was before. Today everything is online and massive but when WoW was released it was still dial up connections and it was about single player. Experiencing so many players back then was jaw dropping! People did in fact really miss a lot. :v

I really do feel sad that I never played WoW, I was far to young to play when it first came out and currently, since I play on console, my PC is probably far to weak to handle the game.
I wanted to learn how to heal in wrath of the lich king. I met a holy paladin that took the time to teach me. That holy paladin is my husband now. We have known each other close to 10 years and been married for 1 year. WoW allowed me to meet the love of my life and my best friend.

that will never happen to retail wow because game is anti social, where in other hand we in classic wow are small community but everyone is happy with game, retail ppl play game and dislike it most of the time

I am not ashamed that I cried multiple times during this documentary. World of Warcraft has touched my heart and taught me endless life lessons. It brought me joy when I was learning to deal with depression and the harsh realities of life. One of my few regrets in my short life is that I cannot go back and relive all the precious moments that I was blessed enough to enjoy. Thank you, Blizzard. Please, never stop pouring your heart into your work.
Yes, the liberals are slowly destroying this rotten old world of conservatives that has been causing so much misery and pain to so many people, just for the sake of "normality" and conformity, inhibiting unnecessarily the richness of their souls.
We liberals embrace cultural relativism which shows us that what we were told to be "natural or "normal" is in fact just a social/cultural construct that can be changed and since it causes harm it should be changed.
There is absolutely nothing wrong about feeling moved by something that is dear to you - that means you experience the world intensively, that you are not inhibited by a stupid, baseless stereotypes like "boys don´t feel as much as women" or "boys don´t cry" - that you FEEL.
You are a very close minded person if you think that something is objectively a complete waste of time and on the contrary that something is objectively "valuable" - you are forcing your own values to someone else´s life and judging it according to them.
I played WoW for 7 years and I don´t regret it one bit - it helped me tremendously in ways that you
can´t conceive because your understanding of the world is so terribly limited it hurts...

I never tell people my real life story to why i became a WoW freak, I won't got to specific in location or my life style but my story on why i played WoW involved the ghetto. My family who took care of me when I was in my young teen years were always worried I would end up a drug head or dead on the streets like all my other friends who would gang bang. Honestly, I wanted to join them and was apart of that one crowd that called WoW players "nerds" or "no lives". I got annoyed and tired of my friends since all they wanted to do was get in law breaking trouble so one day while I was on youtube i came across a bunch of WoW videos and was amazed, I didn't know this was WoW until i read the title of a video and decided to try a trial since a add for WoW was on the side. Years later here I am, Some of the friends i used to hang out with years ago are dead or in prison but I am still out here, I thank blizz because they really got my life straight and turned me away from the path I was going down. Respect.

stay strong man, it is a good thing not to end up on that path.. make sure you just follow your own.. I had to leave some of my friends in order to have the kind of life I wanted. I don't like peer pressure and I will never succumb to it.

I'll never forget reaching the tops of the mountains surrounding Mulgore with my two best friends and seeing Thunderbluff for the first time. The sun was setting opposite of the city when we arrived. With the sun quickly leaving sight and the stars beginning to show themselves we ventured to the heights of Thunderbluff where we saw the sprawling land we had just traveled from stretching far out into the distance. We were so adamant about leveling, getting experience and proving ourselves. But for just a moment, we all waited in silence until the sun set over the mountains before we continued our journey to becoming heroes of Azeroth. There's some things you just can only truly feel from playing Warcraft. We had never seen anything like it in a game and I'll never forget it.
Really makes you think about what VR is going to feel like when it gets going in mmo games. Even if they implemented a hacked half-hazard oculus rift playable world of warcraft as it is now you could really lose yourself in that world.
Still remember falling off the TB Bridge in Vanilla for the first time.. Ya that was interesting.
Metzen was the soul for Warcraft and also created it's soul. Glad that he's back.

AbilityPowered WoW is the best thing to happen to me. Cant describe how glad i am to discover the game in late 2006. I'll never forget those memories, ever.
I think the biggest thing about whats wrong with WoD at the moment aren't these little things everyone has been complaining about on the forums, its at 40:40 where I realised what it is:
Warlords of Draenor feels off, not personal (on alot of levels: storyline, music, overal setting, and then the little things from the forum posts like garrissons, etc..)
And when I think back like these people at 40:40 about the memorable times I had I can name alot of em, but none of em happened in WoD.
So I think more than anything WoW just needs to become this social, hard but rewarding world that projects that atmosphere.
It needs to be "home" again
Sorry for this philosophical little rant but thats how I feel, and if other people feel the same, I hope this little thought will reach one of the Devs will read this and take something from it.

I've rewatched this movie at least 4 times now and I just watched it again today, and what I think keeps me coming back to watch this is to almost re-live a memory of a Vanilla WoW player and see what it was like to play back then, how the game was more of an adventure, not all about just queuing for the rewards. Life is about the journey, not the destination, and that just makes me sad that I wasn't able to experience what Vanilla was like. I am currently 14 (Turning 15 later this year) and when WoW first released, I was 1 to 2 years old lol. I got interested in WoW because of my dad. He was a player from the day it released. I grew up watching him play, and my best childhood memories was when I was around 3 to 4 years old and my dad would let me sit on his lap and spam spacebar, because it made his character jump, and at the time, that was the best thing in the world. It made me laugh a lot. But when I was around 6- 7, I forget when sadly, my dad allowed me to make my own character, and actually play it. This was my dream at the time, little kids like me didn't have any life goals, I just wanted to be like my dad. I've been playing WoW ever since.

I've been a player since Wrath of the Lich King (on and off), and I've NEVER been so immersed in any game as much as I have in World of Warcraft. I've had many, and such fond memories of playing WoW ever since my very adolescent years. I was just too young to comprehend exactly all that was going on; realizing all of the game's ins and outs, its unrivaled beauty that has made many players pour out thousands, even millions of different versions of a sense of exploration, revelations, and inspiration. My most fond memory was when I first discovered Old Ironforge, and King Magni Bronzebeard incased in a magical-crystalline shell. It was almost like I was staring at a celestial figure, pondering the various markings that lay about the floor, and what history lye upon the chipped and aged walls.
Blizzard Entertainment made my childhood the best years of my life, and it is a kind that should be sought after by many other children from the coming generations. I feel that everyone should be able to experience the same feelings as I have, and just maybe change some significant perspectives on some view points in their own lives. Thank you, Blizzard. For Everything.

And i quittet the Game with WOTLK. Not because i don´t liked it anymore. It was because my life changed, i was grown and hot not enough time to play a game like WOW (Job, a Kid and all that stuff).
But even now, after years i still feel connected to it. Thats why i watched this movie. WoW was such an amazing experience and a really good time. These days will be in good memory for the rest of my life :) And i was really happy to see some Characters and Mobs came back in my life with Hearthstone.
So i just want to say to all the WoW Players that are still out there: Good luck and have fun!

35:10 True what he says about sunrise as one of my most memorable moments on WOW was during sunrise, was around 4 : 30/5 : 00 AM in Mulgore playing my old Tauren character levelling my cooking when another player came across me and started talking, got talking for an hour about the game and random things, I didn't even know the person yet we were talking as if we were friends who haven't talked in years. That was about seven years ago now but it has always stuck in my memory, two things I have always loved about WOW, the beautiful, often epic scenery and atmosphere (and music at that) and the sense of community among players.
This! Had a lot of these moments lately into Shadowlands. No game besides WoW has this. It's amazing!
I have seen everything in life. I have visited over 30 nations, seen and been to the Atlantic and the Pasific, the Red sea, and The Dead Sea. I have made love to a supermodel (well she looked like one) and talked with a nobel laureate. Yet i have fond memories of Darnassus when i was a young boy elf.
I might die and think of my life in this world, like most, or i might think of my adventures in a super big tree on Azeroth.
I hope i live a long time but when i do die, i know what i'll reminisce about. That's how powerful WOW is. Maybe i'll call out to my mom with my last breath or thought.....or maybe not. I agree, but strangely enough, as usual they never mention Warhammer which has been more than an inspiration for the creation of their own world, even if Warcraft ended up with its own style and lore.

Pre cata world of warcraft gave me so many feelings that are impossible to portray in text. Every attempt people make to describe those feelings always looks so dull and basic... but i know what is locked behind that text, and it was absolutely amazing!
I've always seen Azeroth as my second home since October 2006. During Hallows End was the time I first started playing with an account we shared with in the family and later created my own account in April 2007; which remains one of my best decisions so far.
Thank you Blizzard for giving us the oppertunity to explore the rich world of Azeroth.
This whole experience was certainly enhanced with the amazing community, so I'd like to thank the players I've met during my adventure.
See you on the other side of the portal, let see how the Iron Horde fare against the powerful Horde and the mighty Alliance.

They never, they wanted to work on other projects which is why most of them worked on the other MMO and now Overwatch.

Activision do not get involved at all with Blizzard, we already know that and why would they since they get pure profit from them.. Disney are the same with Marvel and Lucasfilm.
+HennibsDP Activision never took over, ActivisionBlizzard was formed then, a company that holds two very separate branches that are not the same at all, Activision and Blizzard.
How have I missed this documentary all these years? This is so awesome! Having had the chance to interview a Warcraft 3 developer, I have a much deeper respect for the work that went into all of Blizzard's work.

Most of the haters probably can't be arsed to go through a 1 hr video just to spew their hate :) I thought it was a great video - and it's always awesome to see how passionate these people are about the game, and it's easy to tell they really do their very best. Things break sometimes, but they work so hard to fix it when it happens. And a lot of players just spew out hate at the tiniest little problem. It's really not necessary :(
I know the night before logging out when Cata was released, I remembered staying up all night, doing multiple screenshots to capture how Azeroth looked. When I logged out then back in and saw what had become of Azeroth, I remember almost wanting to cry. It still gets me seeing an area or spot changed. I love this game!!!

I'm playing wow since 7 years now, and I did not regret it. I love this world, and I have many fun memories from this game. The one thing that I will never forget when we were running through Arathi Highlands to Wetlands with my Warlock friend to do a quest in order to be able to summon a Succubus. The land was beautufil. Great plains with the ruins of a big city...I loved it. Then we got ganked by a higher level paladin two or three times. After that we decided that we should avoid the main road, and move through the plains. It was a great adventure :)
I liked your story Robert! I really loved that time when the world was new and you actually had to travel large distances for some quests. It really WAS an adventure.
PS I hope you weren't mad at the paladin, he just did his job, which is to kill evil demon loving warlocks!

One thing I've always loved about Warcraft and being a WoW player was how much you can just tell the people who made this game wanted a good game and they want people to have fun. They really want to do their best to make it the closest they can to perfect because they love it, too. It's inspiring how truly passionate everyone at Blizz really is about the game and the players and the world. I think that's a large contributing factor to how WoW has stood the test of time so well against other MMOs and just other games in general. Everyone has their complaints or things they'd do better or whatever, but that aside the people who make this game really do care. Keep up the good work Blizz, I hope to be playing well into my 80s so you best be putting out another 60 years worth of content minimum

7 Years of World of Warcraft and i start to tear up when i see a lot of this. I love Blizzard and everything they do for us. This game is a community , a way of life and a common grounds between those who wouldn't have any otherwise.
I implore anyone who hast played this game to just jump in , try it. You will create everlasting memories and maybe even find a world that feels more like home than anywhere else.
Seeing people truly love their jobs just makes me die on the inside wishing I could have those feelings.

For what it's worth, Shadowlands just released and Ion hazikostas seems to be keeping to his word from a couple years ago that Shadowlands is going to attempt to be more player-friendly. So far Shadowlands has been received incredibly well, almost dubiously well as people fear that these things never last and that next expansion may revert us to the dark ages once again. However, if things keep going the way they're going now, things are really looking up.
Chris Metzen is such a genuine guy, I love him. His character is amazing, he's a manly man, but not afraid to shed a tear. He's got style, he's passionate, and you can just tell that he cares.

World of Warcraft is the greatest games I ever played. World of Warcraft has inspired me to become a Computer Animator, today I am a Student a Full Sail University, learning new and better ways to become a animator, in hopes of one day walking up to the amazing Garrosh statue at Blizzards head quarters. World of Warcraft has been a huge impact in my life. I thank every person who was apart of World of Warcraft and the making of the game. I'm sad to say I have never been to a BlizzCon but someday I will. I am super excited for the Anniversary because Blizzard has done a very good job of creating every part of every game they have ever created. I would say my favorite part of all the World of Warcraft was when I got my Worgen Druid to 90. I was in Towlong Steps when I hit 90. I was on a Skype call with my Dad and Mom and my Brother-in-law we were all playing together, they were all level 90 trying to help me out. The moment I hit 90 I started to jump up and down for joy. I was so happy that day. I am super excited to become level 100, and also the garrison, that sounds like fun. My favorite location of all of Azeroth would have to be Shrine of the Seven Stars because the pure beauty of the creation and design of the building. I am so proud to be a Blizzard costumer. I Thank you all from the bottom of my Heart, you guys rock. Maybe one day I will meet some of the animators from Blizzard.
To all the World of Warcraft fans out there. No matter if you are Horde or Alliance, Azeroth is our home, everyone inside of Azeroth is just like you. We are all one. Long live Azeroth, Long live the Alliance, and Long live the Horde. May your Journey the Azeroth be a good one. Kick some butt and take some names,hahaha if you know what I mean. We are one great family who have different sides of views but even after the fights of the Alliance and Horde no matter what side you are on, you can keep in mind, that even thought you fight for your side, you can know one thing. The person on the other side of the faction will always be your friend. We member of the Blizzard worlds will stick together.

I've played WoW for about 6 months now and I feel almost everything that's been described in this film. It also makes me want to work for Blizzard so very much.
One of my favorite WoW stories: I started back in Vanilla as an Orc Warlock... one of my favorite areas is the Badlands, because at level 40, i managed to make my way there via the long trip from Undercity south through the Arathi Highlands and the Wetlands and Loch Modan through all of the Alliance territories.. Entering the Badlands I was in awe of the zone because my previous favorite zones had been the barrens and thousand needles.. I was standing outside the horde outpost looking through my quest book when an undead priest came running up with his hunter friend and asked me to summon another player. I had yet to meet a priest in game and immediately became friends with him, I gave him some healing cloth gear that I wouldnt be able to use as a warlock, and we summoned his friend.. Years later That priest and I are still real life friends and have each made many a road trip to hang out with each other for a week at a time even though we live roughly 2000 miles apart.

Chris Metzen - The only reason I keep loyal to blizzard/WoW. He keeps trying to keep it alive. And we have the same view on it. I just wish everyone else in WoW development had the same vision.
They do otherwise he would not have kept them.

Matthew North Incorrect, Chris and others have butted heads on things. They do disagree. And there have been things Chris has not approved of that they did, Chris isn't the almighty president of WoW. He stands on several fronts. He's a designer just like others. Christ didn't like where they took some of the game, and is the primary pushing force for resetting WoW back to WOD where WoW gained most of its success. He wants to build on it from there. WoW has lost 1/2 its people. And lore has went south on alot of things which were incredible. If you were to stick Mike Morhaime where Chris Metzen, WoW would of died long ago.
Otakahunt You guys! Stop it! WoW dev team includes it's consumers, you can actually ask for stuff to be added in game, if 500k people wants the same thing, they will get it eventually. Chris literally pitched each expansions story first as they do it as a group which they have said often just before the release of a current upcoming xpac.
Truly amazing! World of Warcraft is the perfect game, thanks Blizzard for creating such an amazing classic. World of Warcraft has been a part of my life throughout the last 6 years and I'll always have a place in my heart for this game. I think everyone who experiences World of Warcraft develops those nostalgic feelings. I remember my first time playing and following another player from Ironforge all the way to Goldshire and just being blown away by the size of the game, I remember my first experiences with all the holiday seasons in the game, a truly magical experience. They made Molten Core in one week. That explains a lot.
To be fair, if you compare vanilla raids and the raids of today their isn't nearly enough art work and complexity compared to what we have now. Molten Core was basically one large cave that branched off. The more complex the raids become, the more time it will take.

Standing around in a circle was hard? The only raid that was hard because of difficulty rather then bugs was Naxx. Once they fixed the bugs from AQ40 raiders were clearing it in a single run. MC is referred to as Molten bore for a reason, and BWL had maybe two encounters that were 'difficult'.
Raids today, once you're past lfr, are far more complex and require a lot more coordination.
Because people were noobs. ppl didnt know wtf they were doing for the first long period of WoW. Hardcore raiders who knew what they we're doing, atleast to some extend was facesmashing MC
Boss encounters themselves were much much easier with maybe a couple exceptions, but the difficulty came from managing more people, needing more pre-raid requirements (Consumables, resistance gear, etc.), mediocre to worthless specs, and the general amount of (longer) time it took to finish things in general.

Ofc you will never be out of content, they've designed it like this. A little portions of repetitive tasks day after day, week after week. No sweet spots of satisfaction, no places to get any significant advantage from all your hard work. And in a few months all you've got become ashes, and you have to start all over again.
No satisfaction? When you completed Pathfinder and got the ability to explore the world from above that atleast was satisfying for me, the mage tower was satisfying to complete, Breaking a new M+ record or beating a boss on mythic for the first time, thats satisfying for me atleast!
I loved WoD, probably because I never raided. I thought the pvp and new zones were great

Yeah I have had a couple alts on Tich, I was really wanting them to do my server that is pretty much just as big and reputable as Tich, Kil'Jaeden.
Didn't start playing till then end of Wotlk and immediately from my background in mlg from Halo 3 I went to the arena side of the game. Eventually by the end of Mop when I started taking arenas seriously I got 2.2k in 3s, 2.1k in 2s, and 2.1k in 5s. Along with 2200+ in rbgs. I even started an online business and was making 14/15$ a hour just watching netflix and playing arenas haha (which I know is against the rules but eh they created the market for it). Such a great ride thus far really broke me out of my shell when I went from being quiet and a little reserved to co leading 2200+ rbg teams in skype. There is of course the summers of non stop playing with my buddies from school talking about what our 3s team name would be or going over strategy while swimming in my pool. Those were definitely the days I remember the most! I ended up having my sleep schedule turn into waking up at 7-9pm and going to sleep at 10am-12pm in the afternoon which was a great experience because I met an Australian guy who was just a blast to play/Skype with we eventually became pretty much best friends just across the pond from each other. There was also my first time hitting 2000 rating in 3v3 with some other Aussies who really gave me the confidence that I could actually play at a higher level than just the 1700s and that type of confidence they allowed me to realize is part of what this movie stands for.. The game broke borders and allowed me the opportunity to grow as a person without leaving my chair now explain that to my parents haha.

6 years of my life I played wow. I started playing in 2005 and ended my time in wow shortly after that disaster of an expansion Cataclysm. Literally everything I loved about wow was changed or taken out.
I'll never forget the first time I did Molten Core, I was on my Resto Tauren Druid on Sargeras server in the guild Arch Coven. I was actually the only Druid in that entire 40 man run and 4 pieces of Cenarion tier 1 dropped! Happy days man.
I've been playing wow for a while but I kept quitting and rejoining over and over, like many people have said in the video, wow is a second home to me and I'm happy I have this game in my life :')

I watch a lot of streamers and it seems easy to criticize and nit pick the decisions that Blizz make, but watching this really brings home just how much passion and love goes into this game, just how much they want to make it work not just for profit, but to have a good old geek out. Writing this we're coming towards the end of legion and i just want to say to Blizz thank you and keep 'em coming.
Everquest was my first ever MMO. Played from 2000-2013. That game will always have a very special place in my heart. So glad that WoW picked up where it left off, in a way, and has grabbed a different piece of my heart that I still get to play to this day. Sadly my EQ days are over, but hopefully my WoW ones are far from it.

There's dozens of them per server. If one fails, it doesn't actually interrupt the server. That's why he could just casually remove it, and put it back later, it'll just get back up and start working again.

No they have mirrored servers - 2-3 running exactly the same content so if one fails or is pulled out, there is no data loss and the game continues seamlessly

Server community? Nope, xrealms, rare farm bitching, etc.

Fishing contests for the whole server? YEY...oh wait not so fast, more drama, griefing, pvp ganks etc.

BUT WoW is NOT invincible, it has flaws. You can tell by the number of subscriptions which have dipped and keep dipping. By the utterly crap customer service run by clueless people who just copy paste.

gone are the 10 min flights to dungeons that glued you into them start to finish that created friends and rivals. gone are the ground mount travel requirements to move around that created ganking oppertunities and then from that righteous vengeance from guild mates or random justice dispensing do gooders int he area. but with an aging community that mostly have jobs and kids kinda had to create these things so they could actually DO things in game with small amount time they have to do so
times change. if you think you can find a good guild with a good community in trade chat then you are wrong. you actually have to get to know these people, surf the forums and talk to people. and maybe even start a guild yourself.
Plusy Get real, you CAN'T find this. The ''real'' community/guilds are those formed before WOTLK. Nowadays a new player is just an outsider trying to get in, he's not needed, can be easily replaced.
In Vanilla for instance, even if someone was ''bad'' at a certain thing(eg a raid mechanic) the raid kept wiping till he got it right. Having 40 people was crucial. Now you can just kick him, guild kick him, fails his trial and kill boss with 1 fewer.

Yep, Agree with you there, if they kept the 40 man, raiding alive, but one reason they changed it, cause it hurt the servers, but they wont tell you that, tho or admit to it.
All those problems you listed aren't Blizzs fault it's the players.
LFR/LFG/ETC: While not perfect they allow you to meet a far larger scope of people then you normally would. Problem is? Those people couldn't care less about who you are. They just want to finish the dungeon and move onto the next Q.
Server Community: Again that is player base not being able to properly interact with each other. Welcome to the world! That's how it is IRL too.
Guilds: Depending on how old the guild is it probably has it's core group of people that have known each other for a while and everyone else they get to join are juts side extras to lift their numbers up. Or it's a bunch of ass hats that don't really care about the social aspect of the game. Again welcome to real life where nobody gives a general crap about you unless it inversely affects them.
Fishing Contest: Again when you try and do anything with large groups you will get Drama and Griefing as people almost to a point have the worst of times trying to do anything together. As to the PvP ganks well you chose to play on a PvP realm and that's what you get. If you don't want PvP ganks then move to a normal realm and stop bitching about it like an R-Tard.
Blizz provided these services but it was the COMMUNITY as a whole who facilitated the increasingly UN-Social aspects of this game.
Out of all of this video I got so psyched when they mentioned EverQuest. Also, seeing the guys in their beginning stages of life as well as how World of Warcraft developed from the gritty strategy game from the 1990's. Seeing Bahjeera in this also rocked as I am a Warrior fanatic myself. Cool video!

This is beautiful. Doesn't matter your faction or race, who you are in real life, or how you play the game, we're all a big family sharing the same space.
From latinamerica, It was hard to play the game because we didn't have good internet connection and they weren't selling the game on the release here. We managed to play on private servers but they were always deleting all our characters, closing the realm and we had to start looking for a better one. I won't lie, I've played more than 50 private servers, my first was Whiterock, hosted by owner2552.
After some years of playing wowscape, burningwow, aniwow, etc, I've meet a guy in the school who was playing the "retail". I didn't belive him that because the game was so dang expensive in my country, and required a sub... I was like "no bro, you'r just messing up with me" but he was serious. He invited me to play it, we started leveling together with RaF, and we managed to get into 70 in less than a month.
The feeling was different, the retail was more "city" than the servers I've played before. The people had respect for those who had shoulders from PvP, or cool titles, not for the love of loving the other guy that are playing with you..
WotLK came, and MEH!! I went back to feel that epicness of a new content, a new expansion, different stuff to do, WINTERGRASP OMG... It was incredible, my enthusiasm for the game reborned once again.
I still play on retail, I'm waiting for WoD, I have big hopes on this new expansion. MoP wasn't bad but I feel like Pandas and Warcraft are different stories, not the one we used to play in our history of the game.
Thanks you Blizzard for giving me World of Warcraft, I think that my life would be better without it but I can't ever say it wasn't part of my life. I have to deal with it.

I've been of wow for nearly 4years now... and i honestly can say... I STILL think about it.. all the team raids of MOLTEN CORE and many great dungeons .. and battle against mates who have the same class to make the top 40 for GUILD RAIDS... most memorable moment.. was being lead by a 12year old... GUILD Leader ... who yelled at us older peeps... and us older peeps, especially us military soldiers who play wow on our spare time, taking orders from a 12year old kid.... hearing his voice yell out commands in where we should stand and what we should do etc.... lol and giving us warnings if we didn't make it to a event we might lose our spot in the top 40 man raid lol.... can remember the 12yr old yelling at members to shut up and he is the only one that should be speaking on mic lol ... great memories and great life friendships met.. many of us left, but we still talk about WOW till this day.... THANKS WOW Staff for all you have done... one day i'll reconnect.... but young ones now play.... and watching them.. i tell them about GUILDS and 40man raids ... for the ALLIANCE .... 18:03 Such a horrible brush off for the indomitable and ruthless forsaken. When I made my account in vanilla and it was time to select a character I knew I wanted to be a warrior. But I didn't want to be a towering tauren or the mack truck that was orc and trolls were too elongated. In Forsaken I saw a warrior that stood smaller, bones showing and hunched over but in his eyes an eerie glow that promised death at the edge of his blade. As I played the game I learned of how we were exiles, so like our scourge brethren but given the freedom of will to forge our place in the world. When I witnessed the undercity I fell in love with this game and this race and there was no prouder moment to ride upon a red skeletal warhorse at 60 for the first time and take my place as a Deathguard in the service of the Forsaken.
I play alliance mostly but I will agree with you. The undead have to be my favorite race in the game. The story and the feeling of pride is one of the best experiences I've had in the game. love it. Then again its WoW so whats not to love :D
Why conden't Garrisons be Racial Based, I woudave loved a Dwarf based Garrison along w/ Dwarven Guards!
Also, this has been my favorite game since BC came out (I was like 6, it was the first game I ever played), and my favorite moment of all time; was in Cataclysm when I logged onto Emerald Dream (US) and joined Clan Battlehammer, the largest single race guild in World of Warcraft, 3 years since than and im still a proud battlehammer! #Dwarfpride

Duncan Stewart i dont think you realize just how much work it would have taken to have themed buildings for each and every single race. instead of 120 buildings, they now have to design 660 buildings. that's almost 6 times the workload.
It'd be worse than six times the work. Sure, there might be six times the art assets, but all the combinations quality assurance would have to try would make it an even bigger task than that.
Hell yeah. An All Blood-Elf Garrison would be awesome!

Despite what you might be thinking, this world isn't dead and it feels more vibrant than ever. I quit for about a year and a half, and after about a year I thought that maybe the game was dying down or becoming less popular. Once I hopped back in and surrounded myself with Azeroth, I realized how terribly wrong I was.
Start again dude. Warcraft could always use more awesome people :)

There are people I raid with who are in high school now that I sang lullabies to on vent when they were toddlers while we were waiting on an Ony raid to come together nearly a decade ago. So many people I never would have encountered that I can't picture my life without now in countries around the world. I have my complaints over nerfs, design changes and such, but I'll never be able to thank Blizzard enough for giving us such a solid place to stand while all these relationships have time to cement into the marriages, friendships and shared adventures that make the WoW culture such a different beast from anything else I've played before or after.

I know this is old, but it is absolutely amazing to see the developer behind the scenes, to see their joy and excitement. I've been playing since Vanilla, and I won't lie in that I am a bit of a cynic at times but seeing their genuine excitement for things I may have disliked is a kind reminder that everything that goes into WoW is a product of developer passion. I hope, however unlikely, that before WoW ends I can go to Blizzcon to just view that passion in person. This video stirred up a lot of memories, and a few tears. Thank you for this.

My best gaming memories in my life comes from Vanilla-Wotlk WoW, even after all these years i still look back sometime and get kinda teary eyed because its later when you really appreciate it for how amazing it was.

I'm glad I was there for the early glory days. I played vanilla, tbc and wrath in my opinion the best expansions. Maybe itw as because then it felt new and fresh.
+Elvathar I started playing in January of 2006, and the game has changed sooo much; it is different now, but I still love it :) It's some of my leisure time, along with the Half-Life series.
I started WoW at late Cataclsym and I am really sad that I miss previous expansions, raid moments, first looks. Whenever I run into first time a zone or entrance , the art gets me all the time. Its like I am looking a great picture that everybody should experience. I hope they never lost that passion.
You guys are incredible devs. What a team, I wish I could work in a dev team like that some day.
