National Highway 66, commonly referred to as NH 66 (erstwhile NH-17 and a part of NH-47), is a mostly 4 lane 1,608 km (999 mi) long busy National Highway that runs roughly north-south along the western coast of India, parallel to the Western Ghats. It connects Panvel (a city south of Mumbai) to Cape Comorin (Kanyakumari), passing through the states of Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
The highway is undergoing a major overhaul in Maharashtra. This is the latest update on Mumbai Goa Highway. This is Part-1 in which I have covered Nagothane To Indapur section.

This is a biggest set back for nitin gadkari all his best work is gone in water because of mumbai goa highway many deaths and local people are suffering a lot because of pot hole s the roads are death trap

The same slow pace is evident in some sections of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, where work has been abandoned. The contractors who appear to be delaying the project are Montecarlo and Roadway Solutions. Cannot understand why NHAI is not changing contractors?

1.) Now Nitin gadkkari will not follow up this Project as it is Toll Less (Uptil Now) and it is not generating money.
Therefore he will never Look in this matter.
Just he will give Fake Assurances.
2). Mangaon and Indapur Bypass is same as last time.
No new Progress
mangaon is full of Traffic On weekends mostly as Public from Pune and Kokan meet at Mangaon.
It is Necessary that Mangao Bypass to be constructed as soon as Possible.

In Kerala NH66 with 6 lane started in 2023 and going to complete by 2026. In many sections, 50% is already completed .

This project is being given a step-motherly treatment by the authorities. Local politics is also much to be blamed. Mangaon junction which is most affected is still pending completion. Motorists were using Mumbai Bangalore highway as alternative but now they have started six lane and concretization of Mumbai Bangalore highway too , this has resulted in traffic jams and congestion on both the routes.
People responsible for the delay should be charged with criminal offence

I went on this highway in 2014 and now this highway still in construction phase almost 10 years lag gaye is highway ko bante bante 10 saal me ek generation change ho jati hai but ye highway abhi tak complete nahi ho paya sad to say that

Excellent video Jaideep. I travel on this cursed highway several times a month. It is a real shame. For all those who speak about wonderful infrastructure by the BJP. Show them this video. Of course this project has been delayed by sucessive governments, not just the BJP

Local contractors and politicians are too much enmeshed in Maharashtra and so even NHAI is forced to give contracts to these local goons who in turn do an absolutely slow and shoddy job. The Mumbai Delhi expressway will meet the same fate in Maharashtra and will remain a Delhi-Vapi expressway ..

Terrible job...I've just been on this highway in December 2023 and terribly disappointed that Gadkari is not personally taking interest in completing this important project.. it's going too slow.. now that politics is in BJP's pocket, there is no reason for further delays in completing the highway project
