      Tom Bladecki:
If I am to understand correctly, your message was intended to be a Biblical activated retort of Piper’s lesson? Which in turn really doesn’t sound Biblical or loving? I sounded very hateful and vindictive, especially when you say that the Triune God doesn’t exist? Saying that Jesus Christ is not God is like saying that “trees are not wood”. Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man, incarnate! John 1:1-14 explains the deity of Jesus Christ! Supernatural yes, believable yes, upon the key word faith. 1 Peter 1:1-9 speaks of the glory of Jesus Christ and God the Father, v. 8 tells us that we love Him, yet we have not seen him? The reason for this is faith. That clearly speaks to me as the Triune God beginning in Genesis 1:26.....Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let us then have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on earth”. That echoes the Triune God. God the Father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit, one God, three persons. Why do you think that very vain humans often refer to themselves as “me, myself, and I”?
Now, to the sticking point that you seem to have with God being God. God had to remind Job, that he was simply a human being, a creation, not the creator! Amen! Charles H. Spurgeon stated very clearly that predestination and election is about God and not man. God said that we, being Christians, followers of Jesus Christ, wearing his name, and possessing attributes of Christ, showing the fruits of his labor and his love, the evidence that “he abides in us”. In order to be among God’s elect it can be made very simple, Romans 10:13.........For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved”. Blaming predestination for man’s depravity and giving them an excuse to throw their life away is like saying that obesity is caused by spoons and forks. If you read Ephesians chapter 2:1-9 you will understand why “people, blame predestination and every other cause of their downfall, continually fail to look at their true sinful nature, and total depravity as a result of Adam and Eve’s fall from Grace when we were told that we would be cursed, and it would take a Savior for our redemption. In the Book of Revelation those who have been saved by grace are written in the Lamb’s book of life, before the earth was created. God is free to pick and choose whom He desires because He is God! Go to John 6:44 and 6:65 states that we do not seek God, but rather it is God that seeks us. You are right, God would wish that all men would come to salvation, but you and I both know that all men would not. If God, so chose for all men to come to faith in Jesus Christ, all would come to Jesus Christ, but they do not! For all men to go to hell would be justice. For there is no man that deserves to escape the penalty of his sinfulness except by the grace of a merciful and loving God to which the Apostle Paul writes in Romans 9:14....What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God’s part? By no means! For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion”. Verse 16 finishes this thought....So then it depends no on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy. So, all the concern for excuse over man’s depravity is for naught, lest there be another avenue that Satan will allow any unbeliever to discourse to quieten those that would preach the God’s Gospel. The sinful nature of a natural man is just that, sinful! Lest he receive the gift of salvation from a Holy and Righteous God, from being his heart being quickened after hearing the Gospel, which is the mode that God has chosen to bear witness to the lost and dying world, “the foolishness of preaching”, the sinner must hear the Word of God preached! Then be made alive to know and understand through God’s great love that he is lost and undone with God, and the only way to receive that sweet redemption is to believe on the name of Jesus Christ and have faith that He and He alone has the power to save their sinful soul! Whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved!

Preachers are taking the place of Christ. John10:11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.
13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.
15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

Preaching is Not part of worship contrary to "conservative 'reformed'" types who claim to believe in the Regulative principle (since modern sermons are not contained in the Bible).
Even if it were, preaching is singular worship which is lesser than corporate worship (the focus of church should be upon people interacting with God rather than sitting and listening to one man talk).
The laypeople should be doing just as much talking as the pastor. In the time of Jesus, people would commonly heckle, interrupt, and ask questions of the teacher during his message.

    • @jshir17
      @jshir17 Před 6 lety +1

Silence would be better than many sermons that I've heard; www.everlastingkingdom.info/article/26/the-bible-never-mentions-sermons.html
Preaching sermons is unbiblical and ahistorical; the pastors preach different and often contradictory messages each sunday so they cannot be speaking with the authority of God, rather they are merely speaking their own minds and opinions.
Thus they should stand and speak with the people on the same level with the congregation instead of towering over them from a pulpit and talking at them and down to them without interruption.
Interestingly, pastors already do this ^ when performing "children's 'sermons'" but not when addressing adult members of the congregation.

There are different formats/kinds of prayers (adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication. Each of the aforementioned kinds of prayer are present in what we, CHRISTIANS, call The Lord's Prayer-THE MODELPRAYER. Piper opens his lecture "How to Preach With Supernatural Power" with prayer , acknowledging God and speaking God's word taken from the book of Isaiah. He concludes his prayer in giving thanks to Jesus. What I have glean thus far from this lecture is that there are numerous men, women, preachers etc. who have have excellent natural oratorical skills. However, it is preachers who are empowered by the Holy Spirit, Supernatural Power of the Holy Spirit, aim to bring "a life changing word" by the power of The Holy Spirit.
