Always a class act that never misses an opportunity to praise the people that helped her in her career. She’s too humble to say what the rest of us already know...that it was her massive talent that helped pave the way for all the female rock and roll singers that came after her. Brenda Lee...one of the best ever.
In my opinion Brenda should have been inducted years before she was. The R&R Hall of fame was twenty years to late to place Brenda Lee where she belonged. Brenda is an ICON of the early Rock era.
"When I was nominated in 2000 and didn't make it, I thought that was it." .. . "So I really didn't expect it. But it's a great honor." - Brenda Lee as quoted in the NY Daily News.
Should have been in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame a loooooooooooooooong time ago! And Janet Jackson should have NEVER been inducted. She ain't no Rock & Roller!
to me, her induction was a no brainer....and I think she should have been inducted MANY years before she was. I suppose being a WOMAN, got in the way of that. But she proved her worth and talent, deserves this honor. Brenda Lee is a STONE COLD SINGER...I dare you to NOT feel something in your gut or heart, when you hear those strings behind her, as she sings "Im Sorry". I dare you. She is just as relevant and influential as Aretha, Etta, Patsy Cline, Dolly and Bessie Smith. She is THAT GOOD.
Little Miss Dynamite!! Love you Brenda!

She deserves the honor more than anyone else.
Short and sweet. Perfectly done.
Fun Fact Both Brenda Lee & Elvis Presley are in Both The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame.

I agree, but the
joke doesn't like the early Rock N Roll and Rockabilly artisits.
Well look on the BRIGHT SIDE: AT LEAST she LIVED to see her induction; others like Lennon and Moon weren’t so fortunate
So gracious and humble, Girl you more than deserve it! Wouldn't be complete with out you.
