    As someone who grew up in the 2000s with the best prehistoric life docs of the time like Walking with dinosaurs, prehistoric park, and walking with beasts, and as someone who is now putting in the work to become a paleontologist, this makes me so happy. The story of life on earth is over three billion years in the making and is such a fascinating story. I cannot wait for this!

      Do yourself a favor if you are watching this, research their facts before you believe em.
      Like the rippling water, its actually impossible.
      '93 Jurassic Park has more actual facts in its trailer than this docu trailer and thats 1993!!😂😂

      @@adil.670 Attenborough did document a lot in his early years (and he was the writer for many of his famous shows presented/narrated by him until 2015), but yeah now he usually reads scripts or presents for brief moments in big-scale series and works mostly as a presenter for BBC specials (though being able to do that at his age is still amazing imo)

      @@TheThrivingTherapsid it’s nice scutosaurus is finally making an appearance in media too. Permian creatures in general are criminally underrepresented. Most people when they see a dimetrodon immediately call it a dinosaur and then are surprised when you tell them it’s a synapsid and more closely related to mammals than dinosaurs.

      @@theotheseaeagle it also highlights the numerous groups of animals which thrived in the Permian and co-dominated with the synapsids, thinking primarily of the temnospondyls and the parareptiles, and did not make it further down the road due climate and archosaurs. How the mammals (the only surviving representative of the clade synapsida) survived this far is a mysterious, happy miracle to me.

    Saw the first episode of this tonight and was blown away. The special effects and Morgan Freeman’s expert narration had me spellbound. To mirror what someone else said, the child in me was at once dazzled and humbled. At times, it even brought tears to my eyes. Visually stunning and extremely moving.

    I have been a big fan of dinosaurs and prehistoric mammals since I watched the BBC's Walking with Dinosaurs and Prehistoric Creatures documentaries almost 20 years ago. With the animation now, I hope they give us a good documentary with this new program from NETFLIX.
    It will especially be phenomenal to have Morgan Freeman 0:33 as narrator and Steven Spielberg as executive producer.

    I’m super excited to see another Prehistoric documentary series that explores the Paleozoic and Cenozoic eras considering we had so many prehistoric series center on Dinosaurs and the late Mesozoic era (Cretaceous) for a long time.
    And in regards of the CG even if it’s not in the level of the CG used in Apple TV+’s Prehistoric Planet I Consider this to be almost on par with that series and love the looks of the Prehistoric Creatures being brought to life by ILM.

      Don’t get excited about the Cenozoic. We’re only seeing the Pleistocene (which was LITERALLY MODERN DAY in evolutionary terms; almost all living animals had already evolved by this point), skipping over the ACTUAL story of mammalian (and other) evolution during the Cenozoic that had happened before that point. We also know there are several glaring issues with some of the Pleistocene segments.
      It’s really just the Paleozoic segments that stand out.

    It's unfortunate that the trailer itself asks a question that only humans will ever think about or ask. "Who will rule the world". Not a single species has this on their agenda. Life is all about balance. Human kind is all about tipping that balance in our favor to, rule the world.

      Honestly man you need to check your vision. CGI is very mediocre in this one. Dinos look plasticky, basic to none muscle simulation, poor animation and the shader/material look is not very good. However they did that they could in circumstances they had, which is either low budget or unrealistic deadlines.

    This is incredible looking. Its gonna be sad during the mass extinctions, especially the Great Dying. But incredible nonetheless. Titanis, Scutosaurus and (assumedly) Innostrancevia, the giant Nautiloids and the dromeosaurs at the end all look absolutely amazing.

      It's been confirmed to not be Inostancevia (and not a gorgonopsid at all as it turns out!) - it's Moschorhinus, a type of therocephalian.

    Prehistoric Planet and this?! So happy they’re investing lots of love and even from iconic artists into dinosaur shows. It’s cool to see Spielberg back on a dinosaur project and 2 legendary narrators Morgan Freeman for this and David Attenborough for Prehistoric Planet. Hope this expands prehistory in media especially paleontologically accurate 😄

    The last 15 minutes of the last episode was one of the most eye opening things I've ever watched.

    I just finished episode 5 (of 8) and this show is actually disappointing. I thought this show was going to focus on the prehistoric life from beginning of time to modern day. Instead, it focusing more on current day life than prehistoric. Episode 5 was suppose to be about dinosaurs but instead, the episode is 70% about modern day insects and 30% about dinosaurs. And that’s how every episode has been so far. Honestly, if you have access to Prehistoric Planet, go watch that instead.

    Hey guys not to be the debbie-downer here but let's try to temper our expectations. The last time I remember a big budget CGI netflix doc coming out was Alien Worlds, which showcased a ton of cool alien creatures and advertised itself as a nature doc with aliens, but all the shots in the trailer were the only shots in the show, with the rest being interviews of scientists on earth-which is fine but the trailer set false expectations. I'm concerned that will be the case here, as there is a bunch of modern-day footage, and an interview on Variety said that only about 25% of the shots in each episode are CGI, so just be wary about expecting a new Prehistoric Planet or Walking With

      Design and animation wise,definitely not,prehistoric planet has more accurate designs and looks more realistic,but ph shows everyday lives of the mesozoic creatures,life on our planet eill focus on more eras and eill show how life developed and survived,so they are quite different based on what they focus on,but i think it wont be better than pregistoric planet overall,maybe will be more informative and interesting

    I saw the series and it's really a pleasure to watch. As a European (dr Med from Belgium), it struck met that +-200y after Darwin they did not devote an episode on the evolution of homo sapiens sapiens. Which tells me that it still seems to be a taboo to many.

    This series got me thinking and I am thinking about the next Armageddon. Is it going to be a nuclear one or nature is going act before it?
    Also what's the next form of evolution? Man-made cyborgs? AI? Or nature is going to come up with something new?
    Questions that I have no answer to but sincerely want to witness one.
