I’m pleased to see that Chelsey really liked the original John Varvatos as much as she did. I love it, though it’s never pulled a compliment for me except for from my wife, who is pretty picky about what fragrances I wear. I’m 41 now, so I guess I’ve finally arrived to the point where it’s appropriate to wear on the regular!

Acqua Dio Gio was the best perfume before 2010. Acqua Di Gio is a faint scent today. : / And that smelly rose scent. : / - pffff. Very bad. Armani put out that great aquatic and citric scent from this perfume. Only alcohol and minimal perfume aroma. The perfume industry today is very weak - no quality. Perfumes were 3-4x stronger 15-20 years ago! A couple of weeks ago I bought myself an Acqua Di Gio 150ML deodorant because EDT version is really bad as i wrote. I had to spray 20% of the bottle so I could smell it on my shirt 3-4 hours later! In 1998, when I bought a Gio deodorant, I only needed a few puffs and I could smell it on my sweater for another 3-4 days. There is no perfume aroma just alcohol. Products are 3-4 times weaker than 15 years ago. In return, they are very expensive.
Versace eros, i dont know what it is, but this reformulation has like 2h strong performance...then it's just faint vanilla smell on your skin with 0 projection, it's so bad bad

A friend of mine HATES AdG, but the very valid reason is that her abusive ex wore it as his signature scent.
So, some do, indeed, hate it.

100% agree with you. I bought one of the 2021 batches with "eau de toilette" on the front and the performance was definitely underwhelming for me.
