I like ME for a bit. In F1 I believe he was usually more talented than his car was considering his short time in F1.
That he figured out IndyCar was not a surprise.. but winning Indy... amazing. Obviously the car was basically the best at the end and he did what was needed not to mess it up. That must be ridiculously nerve racking when you get within 5 and believe you will . might win this thing.
His handling of English is.. amazing for such a short time. I know youth, perhaps an interest to be more understood by his team and others, and certainly being young and coming from Europe where almost all countries commonly speak English as well as their Native tongue. His accent for English words is so much improved in just a few years. Some sentences sound exactly how I would sound if I say them.
Good on him. I'm a 59 year old, middle management production guy (one language) and my daughters both knew 2 languages rather well prior to High School. As grown ups one added two more languages. German (because she occasionally travels, and Greek (?? She just thought it was an interesting language).
I hope the US continues to do this. The world is not getting smaller and the ability to be flexible is getting more important all the time.
