    I love the 1/2/3 Series of Jag saloons, but especially the S3, unless you throw a S2 coupe into the mix! The six's are one thing, the 4.2's are lovely, swift and comfortable cars to drive. The V12's however, well, what can you say, apart from glorious, sublime, fabulous or however else you want to describe them. Even to this day there are very few cars, cost no object, that can hold a candle to these cars effortless combination of power, comfort and driveability. Just like they said, "Grace, Space and Pace".

    This is one of the most beautiful limos ever made. Maybe a new Jags are much more reliable than old ones, but they lost this elegance and "soul". They look like "pumped up" Hyundai or something.

    • @elsapomasguapo
      @elsapomasguapo Před 2 lety +5

      I thought the late 90’s/early 2000’s jags were the most reliable?

    • @Black-Villain
      @Black-Villain Před 2 lety +3

      @@elsapomasguapo The early v8's had a bunch of issues, but they fixed most of them in 02 I think. However, in my opinion, the most reliable jag is a 96-97 X300 XJ6. The 6 cylinder that Jag refined for 50 years, modern electronics and ignition and injection, OBD2, fairly easy to work on, and old enough that it doesn't have a bunch of complicated electronics or computers/modules

    • @callumhardy5098
      @callumhardy5098 Před 2 lety

      Actually you’d be surprised, new jags are less reliable than those made under the Ford era of Jaguar from early 90’s to 2009.

    • @AAWT
      @AAWT Před 4 měsíci

      @@callumhardy5098 From what I've read, they're more reliable than ever now. They finally beat the German competition in terms of reliability, but at the price of becoming indistinguishable from any other car. But there is a lot of misinformation around regarding Jags, as a lot of their sins of the past (1970s, particularly) still haunt the brand to this day. Lots of people with limited knowledge love to run their mouths about Jags, probably out of envy.

    How does the duel fuel tank situation work on these cars? do you have to select which tank is to be used?

    • @AAWT
      @AAWT Před 4 měsíci

      Yes. The switch you can see center screen at 3:15 switches between the tanks. The fuel meter then drops or rises accordingly to show what the currently used tank has left. That's why these cars are quite popular for LMG conversions in Europe (where fuel costs are painful on cars like this, with prices above 2€/Litre in some countries - that's way above 10$/gallon).

    • @ronnytotten9292
      @ronnytotten9292 Před 3 lety

      No, there are not really any reliable performance vehicles. This is an old car though, its not a daily driver. Difficult to work on there is no room for anything

    • @eisaatana6311
      @eisaatana6311 Před 3 lety +1

      We have exactly the same car but in green. I wouldn't use it as daily usage car but its still so enjoyable to drive and look at. 0-100 km\h it slow as old cars usually are but after 100 kph that it keeps just going and leaving those modern bmw's and mercs behind. For the reliability the problems we sometimes suffer is that the all cylinders arent running but mostly you can fix that by changing the sparkplugs.

Couldn't hear, or feel, the engine until 3000rpm, and then sounded like a singer sowing machine. Only had a three speed auto box, but did 90mph in second ! I replaced it with an XJR which was much quicker, but not as quiet or as luxurious

      When I drive my XJ, and feel the need to drive with driver side window ,like 8 Cm open , I put rear window also at like 7/8 cm open, so U get fresh air without wind noise !
      Still, above 40 Mph , driving with an open window, makes a car really fuel inefficient.
      Better flip that rooftop.
