- Math isn't everyone's favourite thing, but I thought I should create an English lesson about it anyways! I think it's a great time for you to learn some English words and phrases about math! In this free English class I'll help you learn all of the different words and phrases you will need to know so you can talk about math. After all, we all use math everyday, so it's a good idea to learn how to talk about it in English!
In this English lesson you'll learn words and phrases like: decimal, equation, abacus, add, addition, subtract, subtraction, fraction, ratio, average, percent, and more!
I hope you enjoy this English lesson about math!
⌛ Remember: Always watch the video three times. Twice today with English subtitles on, and once tomorrow with the English subtitles off. This will reinforce the English you have learned!

Many international students(not native English speakers) struggle with standardized math exams because it's challenging for them to understand what the questions ask, even if their math skills are quite good. This was so helpful!!

Very helpful.. Thank you so much. I never liked math, but I work in Finance department now 🙂
Very useful as I am teaching Biology in the Cambridge sections of a scientific high school but I need to learn maths lexic (with the S :-). One note: 'per' comes from Italian (and before that comes from Latin - ancient Romans - Italy again). This is very 'parochial'? Yes, it is but it's also correct 🙂
My 15 yo daughter loves Math. (me too😉) I'm going to send her your lesson😍

Hey, Bob it was very useful' I'll show you something interesting. Are you ready?
Think about a number ( It must be a positive, whole number!
The minister adds the same.
I'm adding 8 to it.
Bin its half!
Give back to the minister what you got from there.
Can you follow it?
Now, If you calculated it well the result is four.
Think an x.
x+x
+8
/2
-x
It must be equal to 4...
Blessed Easter!
This is the first time I know western people learn abacus too,I have thought only we Chinese or Eastern Asian people.
I guess this lesson can be even useful for GRE exam! 😊👍

Hola profesor en parte de Canadá se en cuetra usted una pregunta usted tiene cursos en línea
Hello Mr.Bob
I am confused that how I learn effectively English!
How I contact with you to receive you advice?
from other sources(including widipedia), it seems '35 divided by 7 is 5' is correct instead of '35 divides 7 ...'. are they both correct?
8 divided by 2 is 4 (not 8 divides 2 is 4)
HelloBob
I thought abacus was only used in China. were they also used in Canada in the past?
Great lesson to learn math vocabulary as well as the expressions that come alongwith it.
Although I have a question -
How do you say when it is in the following way-
2×1= 1
2×2=4
2×10=20
you have a mistake two times one equals two
@@volodyslove A typo. Thanks for mentioning it.
Two times one equals two
Two times two equals four
Two times ten equals twenty
@@cam5556 Thanks for taking the time.
Although my question was a bit different. How to read them when it's a complete table of 2.
@@bishtanil889 sorry I’m not sure if I understand, but we call it the ‘two times tables’, does that help?
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Can anybody please help me out how to teach mathematics to Canadian student??
I hate maths in Spanish now I hate math in English lol
I did not know about scientific and graphing calculators🙄
I thought that "(" and this ")" were parenthesis not brackets, I am wrong? Brackets aren't these "[" "]"?
The two words mean the same thing in English. Maybe there is a technical difference if you’re a scientist or something, but most people just call both () and [] “brackets”.
test
no, man... I understand that it really helpful for everyone but it boring, let's something funny next time :)
