It was a pleasure driving to your farm and meeting you. So excited about building our greenhouse so that we can plant all the new plants we bought from you today!
i got shot in the head in 1997 i had nothing but time found citrus forums and met stan who helped me learn how to grow sitrus ... HES AMAZING someday ill get to meet the man who gave me something to look forward too
Just got my first 3 trees from Stan. Could not be happier. You can buy with confidence here. I have no doubt I will be calling on Stan in the near future. Thanks Stan.
Post more vids. Alot of people think we can't grow citrus in SC. I just got a satsuma, meyer lemon, improved meyer lemon and a limequat last year. The more people grow food then the better for the world. You can't really trust what they put in the stores these days
I love your orchard and greenhouse! Now I need to remember to email you to ask whether the grafts succeeded on some specific trees I'm hoping to buy from you... I really look forward to growing them! And your greenhouse is inspiring me to put one up; right now I overwinter tender plants inside a sunroom in my house, but that's getting quite crowded. Please keep on making tour videos like this. You have no idea how inspiring it is!
We like to watch CZcams gardening videos when we sit down for dinner and yours popped up. It was great to see you again (even if it wasn't in person) We both really enjoyed this video and seeing your place!!❤
Stan is the real deal, listen to the knowledge! I've only bought two trees so far and they are fantastic. Will be buying more when passive solar green house in Pa is finished!
Thank you, Stan, I enjoyed the tour. I think when I come visit the farm in April I will have a hard time choosing which citrus to grow! I do have a small greenhouse 10'x30" so I think I could find room for a couple of trees in there as well.
Hey Stan, thank you so much for the tour of your farm and green house in Scranton, SC! I really enjoyed listening to you talk about your different variaties of citrus and seeing them all. You're an inspiration to me as I'm a newer grower of citrus and enjoy learning about the different cold hardy varieties that are available! Please, keep up the hard work and I look forward to more videos from your citrus farm! Merry Christmas Stan!
I am glad to see you upload a video. My sister and I visited your nursery about 2 years ago. I purchased a grafted Owari Satsuma from you. It has fruit hanging on it right now. I have it in my greenhouse here in the foothills of NC, and I am waiting for my fruit to finish ripening. Have a blessed day!
Hey Mr McKenzie this is Mrs Taft from Georgia, the lady who bought two satsumas Feb 2024. They are doing well in 20 gal containers, but the few buds on one did not hold. Will I get more buds this year? I'm not planning to bring them indoors for the Winter. I'm thinking ahead and want to know what you think. If I build 6 ft brick wall and put them against it, and erect a structure with PVC and cover it with green house plastic, sort of a cheap greenhouse. Then when it begins to get cold, keep Christmas lights on and shroud them with bags and frost cover would that be good or bad? I love your greenhouse and would love to have one on a smaller scale, but I'm afraid my husband would not go for it🤣. In fact, he'd probably laugh me out of the house🤣🤣
Young trees dont tend to hold fruit as well as older more established trees. If you are going to keep them outside in pots.. be sure to wrap the pots with some type of insulating material to make sure the rootsystem doesn not freeze. The mini greenhouse and some extra heat on colder nights should work. Thanks!
Hi stan my names is matt and I'm 14 and I have a interest in plants I live on the south west coast of BC Canada usda zone 9a I was wondering if you ship to Canada and also would my citrus be fine in zone 9a we rarely go below -6/7 and if we do its for a few hours maybe a day is there any chance i would be able to grow lemons and limes outdoors with little to no protection
Just my opinion, But before I would invest money in building a brick wall, I would take that money and invest in a sturdy greenhouse to overwinter my tender trees in.
Is your greenhouse uncovered in summers with the heat? I have a smaller greenhouse 10x12 and was thinking about planting a citrus tree in the grown vs the pot. I just wasn’t sure if it would be to hot in the summer
No, I leave the cover on. I have a vent at the back of the house and a large fan that pulls cool air from the outside. Remember, citrus grow in the Arizona desert, so they can tolerate some pretty hot temperatures.
Do you sell air layered citrus trees too or Just grafted? I have grafted citrus but the grower and others have told me that I need to wait 3 years before I let them fruit so the tree can grow roots as well as it's above ground structure or it can stunt it's growth and prevent it from being as fruitful as I would like them to be, but apparently Air layered trees don't have that problem. I would like a meiwa kumquat and a sweet Palestinian lime. Thanks
I have all the lemon I need/want right now , I'm looking for an air layered meiwa kumquat and a sweet Palestinian lime, and an orange variety that I don't know what the variety is, they are about the size of a normal orange I think but ovalish in shape, super sweet with no acidity and no tartness. I want them to be trees that are mature enough that I can safely allow to fruit this spring, thanks.
Do you know of any citrus that can grow in Kentucky (south eastern) it does feeze here in the winter. I love Sumo and from buying some this season i found 7 seeds , but I know they would never grow here, but just wondering if any other citrus would.
I should have gone to your Nursery and gotten my plants instead of requesting to ship them to me. Seems like everyone likes you and your nursery, so a trip to SC would have been better. I did order 2 plants from your nursery but I was very disappointed with the plants that arrived via UPS. They are so tiny and barely have any roots, not in good health. Plus the cold weather did not help. I am hoping they will survive even though I don't expect any blooms or flowers in a few years. I wish there were more information about the plants such as age, height, condition of the plants etc.
Noyon, Im sorry you were disapointed with your plants. When you order 1gal plants, they will usually be smaller in size and non fruit bearing. Larger size trees while more expensive usually have fruit and blooms in a shorter time frame as opposed to 1gal material. Im sorry that we dont list a full biography of each individual plant we stock.
I can't wait till my house looks like this. Thank you for sharing, you're doing the Lord's work down there.
Thank you so much!

This is very inspiring and fun to watch! Thanks for the trees, Stan. We get lots of compliments, and now some fruit from them.

We're in SC as well. Hoping to add our first citrus this year. Should be a great addition to our other fruits.
Totally agree!

I'm in coastal NC and my Brown's select Satsuma and Meiwa kumquat are loving life in ground here. Zero protection and zero cold damage so far.
Great video Stan! I got a bunch of trees from you, and all of them are doing well. I can’t wait until the Citremon is avaliable, it looks incredible.

@@citrusman99 I will, I’ve got to go!
Awesome tour Stan!

Stan is the G.O.A.T of citrus
Not sure what that means.. Hope its positive! LOL
How bout splain that one for me! LOL
@@citrusman99 it means Greatest Of All Time !
@@Nnn_Lofi Well, I will certainly wear that badge with pride!
Do the kumquat fruits get ruined by the freezing temperatures? I know the trees will take maybe 15 degrees . Nice orchard you have there !
The meiwas are pretty tough! We have been down to 27f so far this winter and they are still very good!
Mine have seen upper 20s this year so far with no damage to the fruit itself. I am not sure beyond that.
Wonderful tour Stan! Happy new year my good sir. Your bud, g 🫡

Nice you have any sweet that will take zone 7B temperature
Its according to how bad you want it! If you work at it... it can be done!
I'm in zone 7b or 8a now and want to place an order. Any recommendations for my zone area in Pickens County, SC?
Thanks for the advise Stan. What about the wall. Does it make sense to build a brick wall and place the pots in front of it?
Just my opinion, But before I would invest money in building a brick wall, I would take that money and invest in a sturdy greenhouse to overwinter my tender trees in.
How long does it usually take before a lemon tree produces lemons
Depends on how it was grown. IF it is a seedling grown tree... it takes years! If a grafted tree or rooted cutting... they flower immediately
Don't you have to contend with the Greening Disease on your farm?
No greening here.. I hope we are too far north for the citrus psyllid to survive.

Yet all we have in Florida is the Chinese present called greening disease.
For anyone who remembers what Florida used to look like, Its sad what greening and urban sprawl has done to the Florida citrus industry.
I know, its sad what has happend to the Florida citrus industry!
Stan how big is your greenhouse
I have 3 one is 20x40 a the one in the video is 20x50 ft
Do you heat your greenhouse?
Yes on really cold nights
