Koloko would need to be assessed by the Toronto Raptors doctors after he gets approval from the NBA doctors. Sometimes players need to be protected from themselves especially if it is borderline whether he is healthy to play.

Sasha will make more money than those 7m in Greece, but at the same time he will be a starter. Starter is something that Raptors didn't offer him and he has to adjust again to a new team, so it is not crazy, it makes a lot of sense to me. I'm disappointed for leaving the NBA, but it is what it is.

He was correct. Raps used grange to posture. Essentially raps were saying we are not letting you go and expect you to play. If Sasha didn’t then he would violate contract. So essentially grange was correct and because Sasha said he would take $0 , then raps had him where they wanted him. Cap space is back and koloko will be soon too
He wasn't wrong, he was just reporting what Masai wanted. Which is Sasha is under contract and expected to play. It was all negotiations and the raptors ended up winning. Grange speaks for the FO, just remember that next time he reports.

Guaranteed folks, Christian Koloko will be back to play. He was a 33rd pick for Toronto in 2022, is 7'0" 230 lbs and had lots of upside. He ran into a medical issue which is cleared up. Medical issues are not a reason to write a talent like that off. The Raps hold his rights. They'd be nuts not to bring him back. He'll be probably on a 2 way this year contract to bring him back to game playing fitness then he'll be back F/T on the team by mid or end of season. That's my prediction. I wish him well. We are getting back to getting bigger again.
Sasha accepted a "zero dollar buyout". JFL is a pro he will land on his feet. Raptors now have around 11 million under the cap and an open roster spot on their main roster to fill for training camp. Koloko's medical report is in the NBA's hands now. He has a blood test in about a week to see if he will be cleared to play in the NBA. The Toronto Raptors current roster/depth chart:

@@SlammingNoobs22 yah niether can break down an opponent off the dribble to get past them and score a bucket when you need it. so i am corrected, on a good team raptors dont have a number 1 or 2 option. as a bad team, raptors have scottie barnes who couldnt dribble past marvin bagely last summer to get a bucket in a video last summer as their number 1 option. btw bagely is a horrible defender also.
@@SlammingNoobs22 i got news for you, if you cant break someone down off the dribble to create your own shot, you are not a number 1 or 2 option on a good team. that is what a number 1 or 2 option is. 20 ppg doesnt meant shit in terms of being a number 1 or 2 option if you cant ball handle well enough to break someone down off the dribble to create your own shot. thats just a good role player from 3-6 if you can get 20ppg without ball handling skills to create your own shot.
How does Freemon Liberty outperform everyone on the 905 sub big team for years straight but get the shaft.
Define "outperform" . . . And then remember, basketball is a TEAM game, and ask yourself "does the player in question improve our chances of winning as a team"
Really wish the Raptors could have signed Jeff Dowtin when he was available, he has had a classic summer league where he slung nonstop great passes to teammates
Would like Koloko as back up C if healthy 🙏 and then Kelly becomes our backup PF with Mogbo and Chris B as insurance some run.
With this solid depth I would see SB getting some mins at both forwards spots.
we can trade jakob poeltl if koloko signed, and have a good chance at top 5 picks in next 2-3 years. can just give chomche developmental reps as backup center as well.

no, the main hang up was gsw wanted to salary dump wiggins without giving up 1st round picks for a team to eat 3 years of wiggins. the reality is with gsw going into a rebuild at any time, teams are gonna ask for an unprotected pick and a lightly protected pick to eat 3 years of wiggins in the new cba. its why no one wants lavine as well. bulls dont want to attach first round picks for a team to eat 3 years of lavines contract.

In the NBA, what little he had, he was not nice at all. In summer league, not nice at all. He also an undersized combo guard who hasn't found his way passing the ball yet and we got a lot of young talent to bring into the fold. Not saying he has no chance of making it either, just that he is a worth cut to bring a Koloko

Plus we are young as can be and still in development mode, not grind out wins mode. Koloko has way more upside

JFL was great in Summer League, but he was never going to make it over guys like Ja’Kobe or even Ochai. He’s too undersized as a SG and isn’t a good enough playmaker to be a full-time PG.

agbaji is on the last year of his contract. he will be allowed to play like flynn to see if he can earn a 2nd contract. if not he is gone at end of year. end of the day they gave up the 29th pick in isaiah collier who was a top 5 pick at begining of year last year in draft so they have to see if they can turn agbaji into a bench player at least by letting him play out the year in a rebuilding season.
Don't get bent over JFL - he is not NBA good. He can't play off the ball, needs to have it in his hands to be effective, there are more skilled players they could fill that spot with right now. The fact they didn't pay a cent is what I wrote on here recently - EFF HIM! You wanna leave, leave, break the contract and say goodbye...but we ain't paying ya shiiit! ..IF we can add in Boucher's contract that could mean possibly taking on a guy up to 21 million. There is a good rotation player in that money bracket to come off the bench with Kelly, BB, Mitchell, giving the Raps 4 solid bench pieces.

I mean he puts up points but it’s because he dominants the ball and take’s a lot of shots. No team in the NBA is going to allow him to do that and run their offense. They had 16 contracts on the books (plus 3 two-way contracts) so they had to cut one player anyway to be compliant. With Vezenkov bought out and Javon Freeman-Liberty waived, there are now 14 full time contracts meaning they can add Koloko.
I'm so glad they waived JFL. He was useless.
Koloko will spend the entire season in the G-League to get his conditioning and game shape back. He won't make any contribution until 2025 at the earliest.
