- Have you ever looked around your house and thought "I just want to throw it all out and start over??" Well, I've been there! Reducing visual clutter can ease stress, help you think clearer, and add more time to your day! Here are my 5 tips on how I have reduced and continue to keep less visual clutter and How You can do it too!!

I just got a digital frame and I love it. Seeing photos now that have been stored on the computer for years and I never looked at!
Clutter stresses me out. I took care of my pack rat/hoarder dad for ten years. So these are my rules.
If you bring it into the room, take it out of the room;
If you drop it, pick it up;
If it’s dirty clothes or dishes, put it in the hamper or the sink;
If it’s a blanket, fold it up;
If it’s a game, put it away;
If it’s junk mail, throw it out.
Once you declutter, you’ve got to keep on top of it. (See the first section.)
Time how long it takes to do just the breakfast dishes, or just the dinner dishes. Then time how long it takes to do a day’s worth of dishes.
In the morning, after eating breakfast and washing the dishes (less than five mins to wash), I make my bed and scoop the litter box (2-3 mins total). The bedroom looks (and smells…the litter box is in there) much better.
As soon as I get the mail, the junk gets tossed, and bills get sorted, and paid within one day.
Surfaces (tables, and floors) are much easier to dust and vacuum if clear of most stuff.
@@minimalease you’re welcome. I look forward to watching your other videos.
Pretty Litter.!! I swear by it. It will not smell at all.
@@wendybroadhurst8658 I’ve tried it. It works. For now I’m using PetCo’s SoFresh Unscented Grass Seed litter. I tried crushed walnut litter, but it doesn’t clump well at all.
Thanks for the motivation your vids always help!
I’m a new subbie.....I loved this vid!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Gonna try the 30 sec app. Happy New Year - May it be Happy & Healthy. 🙏💐🙏
This was such a great video Becky! ❤ I for sure am now following this rule as well as I’ve decluttered and hopefully you will see it in more in my Slowly Simplifying my Spaces series on my channel. ❤
After 3 years of my own decluttering I find it very hard to go to my sisters house! Gives me claustrophobia.
I feel the same way when I go to my in laws house.
Decor is the hardest one for me because I love interior design, but visual clutter stresses me out. Lately I’ve been removing decor & “decorating” more with live plants. I find it much more peaceful now in our living room.
Such a great idea!! Thanks for sharing 👏❤️
Clutter is middle class abundance
One more thing - My electric toothbrush lasts for months before it needs charging again, so I started storing after use in the medicine cabinet.
Me too.
I'm going to try this. Never considered it but I hate the toothbrush always being out.
Hi, new sub here. I’m about to go watch more of your videos.
Another minimalist I watch says don't put it down put it away. Great video. Subscribed 😊
Thanks for subbing! Welcome :)
you are so beautiful 😍 inside and out ✨ love minimalism
I do like the thought of minimalism, saying this, Your home looks like a hotel. Why have shelves? I do not like clutter at all---I do like the "lived" in look. Example, go into a shop with a few things out and it looks like they are about to close up business. You go into a well organized, color coordinated store and it feels visually satisfying. Staging is everything. I will take some of your ideas for future use. 30 sec. rule is awesome !
I would love to see some visual examples of rule #1 of before and after. I think you are also implying to not listen to the "layering" concept that I hear about. Just let your knick-knacks stand on their own, like I see behind you. Is that right?
I dont think im converted yet i think those shelves look like they need to go or have nice ornaments on. Eeek
I love your videos!! Can I ask what picture frame your mom has now?
Thank you!!!
Where did you get your shelves?
My husband built them out of 1 by 8’s and brackets from Amazon and then we stained them with I think a stain called early American
Thank you!
Please hurry...if we were in real time. This is clutter video . I'm n waiting and have faith in this . Deep breath
Minimalism isn’t about rushing from thing to thing. It’s about cutting out excess to have time for the things that matter. And if we are just learning, and very interested, this very short 11 minute video is useful of our time. Listen to it while you clean the kitchen or while you clean the toilets and sinks.
Too much nattering on before getting to the point - verbal clutter!
An 11 minute useful video doesn’t take much time at all? Did we watch the same video?
