I dread these encoders. I can do anything when it comes to microsoldering. HDMI ports, trace repair, fpc connectors, etc. All the above but I've always struggled with these encoders abd getting the pads connected to the chip. Don't do them often but still playing around with different tips/technique's 😭 good work buddy!

Always prep the chip, put solder on the chip legs, get it lined up flow it into place, more flux push down and reflow again.

Every time I solder the pins after mounting using a bevel tip, it ends up bridging the pins.
What soldering iron station are you using?

Hi. £47.99 and the price includes repair and shipping back to the customer with insurance up to £60. With the insurance up to £250 is £52.99. At the moment we need 24h to replace the chip.

@@tvpartsworld806 ok. But you never know what the damage is before you open up the hood. Quite risky. My Pro just died, nothing but blackness on screen, no signal detected.

@@subseeker The most important for us is if you can see a white light on the console. When you turn the console on , you should see a blue flashing light and after a while it should go to constant white light. We've got a rule, no fix, no fees and if we're not able to repair your console, you just need to pay for shipping back and it's £12 with up to £250 insurance.
