My daddy always said “If you ever had to work cows, you would understand why we eat them”. 😂
Your best & funniest video !!!
Poor Henson...had a bad day... but I couldn’t stop laughing. And you, loading 20 bales...strong woman.
Cowboys/cowgirls never give up ❤️
Glad you enjoyed Gail!!
Henson that’s not embarrassing that’s just being a rancher. Sometimes you have a good day. Sometimes you have bad days. I think you and Danielle are awesome ranchers you guys do a very good job know your shit.😊 Oh, love, the pink shirt. What that little guy gave you a run for your money he’s a little loco. Yeah you didn’t make a mess. Lol.
Glad I found your channel! I knew there was Gallup, then Flagstaff and in between, I thought, a whole lot of nothing, badlands, rattlesnakes. Now I know better 😄😀 yes, it's desert, but your 📹 show you don't need Kentucky bluegrass to grow great animals.
I know this video is 2yrs old. I love watching yall work your ranch. Always have loved ranching, country, away from city enjoying the quiet and sounds of animals. ❤️🙏🏻❤️
I Am cuban liven in TX and l really like your videos l love horses
Big props to all of you but you are one hard working woman.
Why thank you! 😎
Okay ...okay .... this video is...GREAT!!!
What more can I say but GREAT 👍
To loading hay...too oooppss the crazy calf and mom got loose... to working horses....then Hansen looking like WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING?? lol 😆 Thank you so much for sharing your day with us
SO happy you enjoyed it!! You're very welcome!!
It's a good thing that Henson roped that calf so the mama cow can follow you guys back too the corral if you load the calf the mama would easily go in too the trailer
2nd Cut Missouri grown heavily fertilized Alfalfa Orchard Mix Hay
- 60 lb. bales
- 150 bale minimum
- Delivered in 15 bale bundles
- $12 per bale
Hard to find anyone up here in Eastern Oregon that does 2 twine anymore.
Ranch work is never ending and a plan is made to not usually work out..lol
That little guy reminds me of "Ferdinand the Bull". One of my favorite videos!!
Alfalfa hay in Minnesota costs $200 per ton. Danielle, that's the way I would load my hay on a truck bed. Hanson had a hard day with the cow and calf. I'd like to be on a ranch doing work. I really like Czar. Gorgeous coloring!
True representation of "cowboyin'"!!!!😅😅😅
You never know what's going to happen
if it works for you, then it is the right way, we are paying almost $30. a bale. everyone has there own way of doing and training, it is always great to open your mind up and learn different ways. been working with horses since 1963, learn the old ways.ridden and worked with some of the old great ones back in the 60s and 70s and 80s.
🙌🏼
Drag that calf in and she will come in the trailer. Love watching cowboys.
Good job Henson for being patient and getting the mama cow and lil bull into the trailer alone, hard to do when your doing it alone. 🤙🙌👏
As far as the hay-seems to me you have that worked out just fine. If it works for you my opinion is just saying “GREAT JOB!” YOU ARE WORKING IT THE WAY IT WORKS FOR YOU. 🤗 You know what you’re doing.
That's music you had when Henson was trying not get the cow and calf in 😂 that was great!
Why would you want to haul that heat trailer around with all your saddle bridles in that heavy sand
@vickimiller not sure what you’re asking 🤔
Great video. That's the most I have seen Henson talk. I bet he is funny
He does have a great sense of humor… gets it from his dad 😁
Watch this one czcams.com/video/RStQ3icC1mQ/video.html
I think this is my favorite video so far. All the naughty calves and cows, etc. lol! "Rehoming." Yep, mm hmm! "Hey, Czar, how was your day?" Hahahahaha!
Love your channel. I miss riding so much. My last horse was gained and he was so smooth. Miss riding the barrels. I am disabled now broke my back twice. But I will enjoy your channel n
Great videos. Love watching your ranching activities. And some days it seems nothing goes right....feel bad for Henson that day. In central WA state we pay $11-$12 for alfalfa/grass mix in 2-string bales.
Yes them Cows will make a fool out of you if you let especially being on foot like we did in Mississippi with my grandparents
Henson makes me laugh in every video. He looks and sounds like a young Jack Nicholson.
Hi guy's nice thanks for sharing daily stuff wit horses been watch from Kaibeto Az ..
Small square excellent horse hay bales are between $8-10 per bale Canadian in Alberta. We feed squares in the barns and large round or square bales is what we feed outside in bigger pens and pasture. During our cold snap it was in excess of minus 50 degrees. With wind chill it almost matched your 70F above zero but in the minus 50 to 60 or 70 degrees BELOW zero. Within 24 hours we were 14degrees Celsius. Roughly a 80 to 100 degree change in 24 hours thanks to the Chinooks coming over the Rockies. Needless to say we bed the cattle to keep them warm with large round or square straw bales. We bed everything heavy throughout the winter. We use wood shavings in the barns. Love your channel. Impressed with the studs you run also.
Wow!! That’s crazy!
Hi guys I love you guys you guys are one tough family it's great too have family around the ranch too help out and work horses and cattle
Greatly stacked you did a super job.
This was a good one. Funny stuff especially the cow/calf wrangling. Your having to comb out that tail reminded me of the knots my mare could get with just a good breeze. She was a chestnut too.
Your make up looks amazing for loading hay, so in the area of Utah where I live it’s 15 bucks for three string bale. Got some great footage of Hensons hands 😂 but he was great at narrating what the naughty cow was doing to mess w/him! No flowers here, it snowed lightly yesterday
And 40’s today. See you next video🤠
Hey Deb that’s amazing for such a slight woman. Ah, but your a Navajo woman and can out leg wrestle any man on the J 💓 Ranch.
I know what would be great! A leg wrestle Royale between you and Henson😊.
Great video!!!
I absolutely love watching your videos. The scenery is so beautiful. I miss my Rez home in Torreon. Stay awesome!
That just shows how busy the ranch is , Henson had a bit of hard time but he got it done and you girl were really busy loading hay, strong cowgirl ! Great video great scenery. Stay safe and healthy thanks 😊
Henson......You are too funny! I think I'll go to Black Angus for dinner tonight. And Danielle no wonder your horses love you.
Henson no need to be embarrassed. I have a daughter that every time she says som3it is true. Jerry knows stock. He likes gentle animals. He was right. Danille, wonderful stack job. I go to feed store and these twits want to stand the bails on their ends not sides. I tell them go to the country and see how they stack hay. ❤❤❤❤
Veal cutlet kept running in my head on that naughty calf.lol
Man I just want to get myself a vacation and come mess around on your farm riding horses and chasing cows!
Haha, thanks. This is a ranch- not a farm 😊
Busy day. Where is the glamor? Just kidding. Very interesting just enjoy watching. A real working ranch. Love you all.
You stack hay just like I did back in the day. That was around 1980 ish.
Dibs tail looks like my daughters when i would let her brush her own hair...😂😂
Another great video. Never too long! Have had a few. crazy cows, but the craziest I had was a hereford bull. He could go over or thru any fence.
That lil bull calf was a true maverick in the making.
Henson what you doing today?
Cowboy stuff. Trotting the big pin. Day thuggin. 😂
Well done, Danielle. My sincere apology, Henson, for bursting out laughing at your expense numerous times. 😂🤣😂
🤣🤣🤣
You are the woman !! No one could do it better. 3 twine straight grass in SE OREGON is almost 18.00. You folks breed some of the best built and great looking foals. Good studs and mares!Wow !!
That little guy was having fun! He thought it was a game lol.
What a great video!! Love seeing what life is like on a working ranch!! God bless y'all and keep you safe!!
Good morning ☕️ Great video- Glad we found you. Wonderful weekend..Till next 🖐🐴🧲🐕🐾
Y’all are the absolute best thing ever love ❤️ your videos
Thanks Wayne!
Enjoyable video. Henson had a fun day. yep, best to get the little calf and mamma elsewhere. I am becoming addicted to these great vids. Thanks guys. 👍🏻🤠
$16. Hay, about the same in Southern Colorado, but your bales are larger.
That’s how I always stacked my hay on the truck when I had to get that many on.
I was a bull hauler for a while. When I birthed my son I ended up naming him Barrett after my trailer . 😂 Wilson and Merrit weren’t appropriate 😅
Great name!!
Love your vlogs
Loved it! Great video today. I’d like to see more videos of Hansen training and teaching good the young horses manners.
We hope to do more of those soon! Thanks
That little fella will grow up to be a Spanish fighting bull.. lol
Danielle is a hard working cowgirl 👍🏻👍🏻😀😀😎😎
I love it!.... 'Well here the go pro! Go prove it!' Love your video and family.. God bless from Australia
😂
Wow that mama already taught Jr. how to be onery! I just washed 2 horses' manes and tails. Looked like a baseball bat was inside their tails. I used gobs of cream rinse and the net day I was able to comb them out. I sprayed gobs of dollar store Pledge and that helped too. Took a couple hours...I'm in Amarillo area and dread winter too. Thanks for the video.
I use WD40 lol
Sounds good especially with the straw to stick down deep in the nest...
Lol, good idea
Henson doesn't get riled up for anything
No he doesn’t. Find you notice that 😁
20 Bales" That is not enough to feed my Rabbits...LOL
Right?!? We probably feed about 50 bales a week between mine and Jerry’s horses that are penned up
@@PaintedDesertRanch 50 Bales a week at your location is a "Hunk of Change". Major expense for your Ranch. Thank the Lord that Jerry and Henson work for food only....LOL
And that’s the truth! Lol
Watched this before , but watching again because of today's video 4/16 / 23
Enjoyed it again 😂 great video!
🙌🏼
I always put the bottom bales on edge, On most trucks that makes the bottom bales even with the bedside, & you can put 5 bales on the bottom instead of 4. Other than that, I do it same way. You do & have consistently hauled 35 bales at a time on a 1/2 ton though I don't recommend that much on a 1/2 ton truck. Always enjoy your videos. Henson is lucky he has a wife that is willing to work as hard as you & ride with him consistently.
Here in mid Missouri we get alfalfa orchard mix for 8 bucks a bale. They come in giant bundles and we pick them up. We make our own round bales. It was a bad hay year - too much rain at the wrong time. If you buy good hay and don't have your supply nailed down by now, I'm afraid you might be out of luck here.
18$/bale in NC, comes from Kansas, round 85lb bale, 3 strand is 22 or 24 a bale I believe
Yup .. looks pretty secure. I don't own livestock any more. I did for years until my health went south. I miss them .. thanks for the fix. If only you could send that sweaty horse smell.
Henson that calf needs to be veal ...
Czar to the rescue with the calf. Good boy Czar!
🤗
Great video as always. I enjoy them so much thank u. My birthday today..
Well happy birthday Lena!!! 🎉
That us amazing👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Large bales😍. Good stack.
Small square bales grass/alfalfa mix are $5/7 straight alfalfa is $8-10 in eastern North Dakota.
Enjoyed the video Thanks. I have been happy with my Eby , it has over a million miles on it and still looks almost new. I haul for a living and have had 7 trucks under it. Keep up the great work.
That's awesome, an Eby is up there on our list too. Thanks for sharing!
Enjoyed this one, nice to see how your day is going. I guess that old cow got Jerry pretty good for him to sell her with a good-looking calf. I agree, no point in having fighting cattle or habitual fence jumpers. That calf was pretty ornery its self, bulled right on through that panel. Keep up the good work and Thanks, for sharing.
One strike and your out with Jerry huh?
That was a protective mama and a scared bull calf. If someone put a little time into them they would be fine. I understand eliminating some stock in lean grass and water years. Makes it easier to decide who goes if they’re too much work/trouble.
It’s about the safety on the family ranch, with so many kids and grandchildren around, a cow like that can hurt them pretty quick.
Bad apples can spoil the whole bunch by teaching the good ones their bad ways.
we call em small squares her etheir 12 to 25 dollars depending on area th egrower is in etc in australia gday mate enjoy the channel a lot
i love it.good part is the horse got good experiance
I love your videos guys keep up 👋 from Oklahoma 🙏🙏
Tennessee hay, mixed grass square is $2/ea and a round bale of the same stuff is $25/ea. Pure alfalfa I've never found in squares besides compressed at TSC, but the round bales were averaged around $50/ea. Specifically middle TN, may vary one way or another.
The moma hefir needs some prozac 😂😂
Determined little guy. The bull too. Ha! ha!
😂
The very bottom row i always put on their side. Hay roughly $3-$8 in Iowa
Herefords have a reputation for being a little crazy. My friend’s father, who owned a few at one time, called them “speed beefs”.
GOOD MORNING FROM CRAIG ALASKA 😀
I already liked Czar, but the more I see you use him the more I like him.
What a day for you two, then end of the vidio is cute how you flip this around!
🤣🤣🤣 that was funny!
Wonderful as always. Boy don't a cowboy look HOT in pink !!!!!! Thx
How big was his SMILE when he saw that comment ?
Wow I wish alfalfa was that cheep where I am, it’s ~$40 for 3 string alfalfa, and $8-$12 for 2 string grass hay.
😳
I'm loving this new longer video!!!
You sure do have a nice string of horses. I was always afraid of losing hay. Alfalfa is high here.
Czar was watching the cow adventures in the pen and he looked entertained.
She's a hand full the calf is like the saying goes the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree and that's the calf trying to get through the fence.
You did great stacking the hay
I think I heard my cousin say the other day that alfalfa that cost her $10 last year is $12 this year. In western Missouri.
Wanted to let you know...I have a Logan stock combo...rear doors are double, swing gate, has mid pie tack, 8 wide, and I had mine with finished living quarters, 9 ft. It’s perfect for me. I looked a long time before deciding on the Logan, and I knew I wanted a stock combo. Ordered the features I wanted, and had walk thru doors put in thru the tack compartment, into horse area. Have insulated ceiling in stock area too. Good luck...!
Sounds nice! You think those could handle Ranch life?? 🤔😂
@@PaintedDesertRanch I believe so. They’re made in Logan Utah, and one of the reasons I choose them was the construction, especially with aluminum. It is a steel frame, and I wanted good welds, because some of the “roads” used to access public land for camping and trail riding is not always easy to navigate, especially pulling 10 miles in. Have a look, wouldn’t give up my stock combo for anything...💜🕊💜
Love a steel chassis-only way to go for durability.
Busy day for all! Fun video.
Hello from Michigan I just subscribed to your channel can't wait for your next videos.
Make sure you check out our old videos too 😁
Priceless and funny video.
Great job loading.
$21.95 two string Alfalfa Loxahatchee Fl
That is in west Palm beach
WOW !!
Henson should try the 3:10 ranch ropes they are my favorite ropes to use for ranching
😊 loved the video one of your best yet.
Alfalfa has always been $15/20 or up per bale here in Oregon.
Swift built trailers are solid!!!! Gaylean trailer's are solid as well.
I’ll check them out thanks
Three twine alfalfa is about $22/bale in NC…feeding orchard/Timothy mix
Where I work we are fortunate to grow our own grass but after the fuel to cut, swath, and bale idk how much it costs. I have to assume cheaper than buying though.
