A common mistake many sewing beginners make after buying fabric is using it right away without washing it! The biggest reason you need to wash fabric is because of shrinkage. I also made a mistake when I was a beginner and made clothes as soon as I received the fabric, but after washing, the clothes shrunk and were too tight, making it uncomfortable. From now on, after purchasing the fabric, be sure to overlock the cross grain line and then wash it!
*The reason for overlocking is that not only does the fabric come undone, but it can also make a mess in the washing machine :(
