Akane is a brilliant method actress, She's the second one who played the "character of Ai" and it really felt like Ai is back. When it comes to acting Akane is just as good as Ai. She just needs to build her confidence.

Not only did she overcome suicide, not only did she manage to replicate ai 100% which are what is shown in the anime already, in the manga she even manages to recreate memories for aqua like his mother's death, and then she discovered aqua's revenge plan and even wanted to help out, SHE FUCKING FOUND OUT WHO HIS FATHER WAS AFTER TRACKING HIM DOWN, aqua didnt even manage that after YEARS and akane did it in ONE week or so, she even wanted to KILL aqua's father so aqua doesnt need to dirty his hands, she was with him throughout the whole damn manga, her change of personality was crazy, sadly she is being cast aside for now so other characters can shine but i understand
Yeah Akane is true goat of the series. Akane went from suicide attempt to now living stronger and more confident than anyone else. She’s the reason Aqua ever finds any leads regarding his father. And this is not to mention that she genuinely cares for Aqua and his wellbeing and not just blindly in love with him. She always tries her best to help Aqua whether it’s before or after their breakup. When she finds out Aqua is falling deeper and deeper into revenge, she makes up her mind to stop him and she does it out of love for him regardless of whether he understands it or not. Truly best girl! If Aqua doesn’t want her, I’ll take her.

Sure she became more confident and stronger but she helped Aqua track down his father so that he could kill him. Akane should have tried to convince Aqua to turn his father in to the police since Aqua is mentally unstable and maybe should go to a insane asylum since his entire life is about murdering his father.

Akane said she just wanted to try talking to him and see how i’ll go, but knowing his father could be dangerous, she brought a knife just in case. Unless she lied but there is no grounds to believe it could be a lie. After knowing Aqua is probably turning to the dark side (but not sure what exactly he gonna do), she told him no NOT and that it’s WRONG, but he just brush her off and broke up with her. Do you seriously think Aqua who has dedicated his whole life for this just to give up the revenge plan, and how can he turn the father to police if he has no evidence?? Akane is true goat because she is the only trying to make a difference, she better than most ppl out there who is ignorant of aqua suffering and those who know sth and don’t bother to do anything.

What really sucks about this anime is how everything has to be about the mc. Like theyre gonna show multiple girls falling for him and everything and its just not the type of anime I thought I would see when I watched the first episode. It turned to a slice of life harem, type of thing you see nowadays in almost all new animes. But I get whatchu mean, they dont let most female characters in animes follow their own path or ambitions and everything has to be related to a boring mc

I don't really like the Aqua and Akane ship, because from what I've seen Aqua probably doesn't have feelings for Akane. He doesn't like Akane for the real her, and the only way to get Aqua to blush is to copy Ai's personality. Again, this is coming from someone who only hasn't read the manga yet so I might be wrong.
@@thekidinsideyourbasement As a manga reader, there is more to it, but without spoiling, I'm not 100% sure *what* Aqua is thinking. I just know Akane did care about him very openly and genuinely wants to help him, as opposed to what we've seen with Kana who clearly likes him but... well, she's a realistic tsundere. She likes him because he is generally nice to her, but she seems a bit awkward about giving him a compliment.
Maybe that's what they're going for with them? That she doesn't know how to make Aqua happy but wants to?
I prefer Akane's story overall, and I think she and Aqua have had a better story, in the anime and in the manga, but I wouldn't be surprised if Kana pulled a win in the last few chapters.
