    The malankara Sabha is rooted from Syriac upbringing. Therefore no one has the right within malankara church to claim a suriyani song is theirs. In fact it comes from Syriac Orthodox Church. And prior to divisions in the malankara Sabha we were all under the umbrella called St Thomas Christians. No church denies that st Thomas is the apostle who brought the faith to us.. Differences exist in the way of worship..I'm a marthomite and I'm proud of the reformation and my faith and practice. But at the same time I thank God for the orthodox and Jacobite churches who still follow a more orthodox way of worship so that some things can be learnt from them I.e suriyani songs, tones of chant etc. I think it's high time that we respect the differences in practices but unite together in our faith in Christ.

    • @antiochsuryoyo5118
      @antiochsuryoyo5118 Před 9 lety +5

      I agree with you, as we all are brothers and sisters in Christ. However, flirting with denominations that are liberal in teachings (Anglicans) can pose a dangerous threat to the faith & teachings. I don't agree with the reformation doctrine, however, I stand with you in regards to unity in Christ, but at the same time, it should be exercised in spirit and in truth, not based on world politics under the guise of things like "feminism" and "equality", just keep that in mind.

      John Thomas Yes I agree we should unite as One for we are ONE in Christ, however, certain teachings cannot be accepted. In the Anglican Communion (which Marthoma is part of), they have female "priesthood" and gay & lesbian clergy, very liberal in their teachings. Christ was not of this world and neither are we, so the Church should not accept worldly (liberal) teachings such as these! Marthoma Church does not have female priesthood, but a lot of people are supporting this. We must remain Orthodox in our faith, uncompromising to worldy beliefs and ideologies. I pray Marthoma Church will reunite to the Syriac Orthodox faith.

    The question is not if the Marthoma Church was started in 1876 or the Malankara Orthodox Church established a Catholicate in 1912. The real question is that of the faith. We are in Malankara (India) Christians holding on to the Oriental Orthodox faith. In 1876, the faith was altered or reformed under the influence of protestant missionaries. If the Marthoma Church can shed all traits of protestant influence and return to its true Syriac Orthodox heritage, it will be a huge step.

Marthomas on the other hand retain a false version of our common Qurbono but teach evangelical doctrine - corrupting and perverting the Faith, as Mor Paulos Sleeho warned against!

    When a group of Christians were united, then separated due to differences, politics, geography, intrigue, etc. Then discuss and come to a common understanding, accepting each other as true and of the same faith, forgiving past sins to be One, Holy, Apostolic, and Catholic - that's reunion. The Orthodox and Jacobites had that for 20 years before their 2nd schism. You have some sort of union with the protestant Anglicans, and their communion. Opportunism is the nickname of the Malayali.

    So during this ordination, all the vows which thrice state obedience were omitted?

    They need some people around here, all the born abroad youth left and are leaving to go to more protestant "bible church" since Marthoma sect taught them at early age to have Bible only - they learned that achens, incense, curtain, Qurbono, etc is not 'bible only', as they are told. Now they go where pastor wears jeans and there are nice big flat screen tvs. Same happening in Austrailia and even Mumbai. CMS plan worked wonderfully.

    When the Marthoma clergy and bishop is in MISC, do they also sing the "forbidden songs" and "expunged texts"? Or do they sit quietly while others pray? Do they refuse to concelebrate unless these changes are made?

    k n daniel was one of the most respected and intellectual persons of marthoma church. the reformetion envisaged in marthoma church is return to the original. we always gave importance for the concepts of devine mystery that no human can unfold. he was on a stream to explain all phenomenons in faith .he explained eucharist as memmorialism,death as sleeping souls ,etc.which was not acceptable to majority.malpan never tried to join CMS,

    Remember the Canon Cross? It was Koonan Cross. And it had to do with Portuguese oppression over our Church, we are free with our own bishops and Traditions intact, no need to keep a division based on a mistake, corrected from 500 yrs ago.

    Who is "you guys"? Mar Ivanios was West Syrian, SyroMalabar is East Syrian. He asked the Pope to reunite (as the Malankara Synod has sent him to do) and the Pope accepted the Malankara Syriac Tradition in full and accepted Mar Ivanios and others as bishops. What exactly was the trick there?

    malnkara syriac,,,in outside india marthoma churches are using the rented space of catholics, easterners,anglicans, and other episcopal churches,protestents too.. catholic clergy to offer the holy sacrament insist for re baptism and confirmation like the pentecostals, which is a herasy for marthoma church .there is only one baptism for salvation. at present we are in communion with anglicans,old catholics,and thozhiyoor church..so we use their service when marthoma kashesha are not available.

    I can show you multiple instances - for example, how many saints did you delete from the Calendar once you "reformed" - how is that reverential? Was Abraham Malpans action of throwing the image in a well of St.Yeldo Mor Baselios, a proud reverential Marthoma moment? Teaching their lives, and half of their faith is good - why did you delete "May their Prayers be a stronghold to us", as that is their faith and what they taught?

    men who died as christians remain to be in active state even after his or her death ,but not in this world but in the shade of His grace.they are very much active as we are and is in more active communion than us.that is why marthoma church negates the need of a substitute qurbana for the dead in earth.marthoma church teaches that there is no presence of soul in the tomb thats why we donot do the dhoopa prathana at kallara.
