I've never been so surprised by subscriber count in my life. I click off this video onto your channel to see if you did this for the other souls games and my jaw dropped when I saw how new your channel is. You're going places, places far better than the shrine of Amana.
Lol! tyty, It can only go up from here!
As a die hard advocate of this game, I wish more people consciously understood that this game is trying to do different things than the first, because I feel that makes it much easier to appreciate. I much appreciate your willingness to meet the game on its own terms despite your own opinions, which are valid.
This person said nothing significant. They fall into the same moronic comments that all the other braindead idiots who improperly malign this game. DS2 is the secret best one and it's a good way to measure whether a content creator actually knows what they are talking about.
I can't take a person seriously if they run at an enemy on a narrow platform, die, and then blame the game for it. And they broke chests. What an idiot.
Each fromsoft game tried to be different. Then when ds2 received so much unwarranted backlash, even when the devs were trying 10x harder than the main team to patch it and make the dlc’s, and bloodborne recieved very little overall attention they just decided “huh, let’s make ds3 a lazy surface level copy of what people liked in bloodbornes gameplay and then make everything else a lazy carbon copy of the first game bc everybody loves it” they tried to be different again with sekiro and it’s not as critically acclaimed as the first game or ds3. “Too difficult… too different. I had to try to beat bosses. Ds3 didn’t make me try this hard” they said. The community hates difficulty contrary to how much they pride themselves on being fans of “difficult games”… ds2 does some difficult things but they call it unfair, elden ring spams aoe’s and ganks like a drug addict abuses heroine and they call it good game design and true difficulty. Sekiro made it so you have to be skilful but that’s too much for them. So they went and made elden ring, a really surface level empty ass open world with somewhat improved elements from ds3 but more artificial difficulty and reused assets….still got 10/10 masterpiece reviews 2 hours after launch, constant critical acclaim and a rabid cult like following basically dog piling anyone who who makes 100% deserved criticisms of the game etc etc
I’m a defender of ds2 and a big fan of blood borne, you can’t argue against this community. They have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about and have no ability to understand why they’re wrong or how they could be blamed for a game seeming bad. Their opinion is always right, their limited experience is dogma and the popular opinion is gospel truth.

@@zzodysseuszz here here! let me shake your hand!
@@Amandor2011 Dumbass alert. Hitboxes have been trash in every game. On top of the input problems, on top of the instability, and now on top of the L2 spam in ER, on top of the broken rolling and healing thanks to DS3 and Bloodborne. At DS2 was the only game well designed enough were everything didn't approach a one-shot singularity. I doubt you even understand what I just said. Go home kid.
This was my first dark souls and even after crushing the whole trilogy I love 2 dearly. Warts and all, ill never forget my time with it.
As someone who's currently trying to get all achievements in SotFS, you have my utmost respect. Old Iron Keep makes me feel like I'm having an aneurysm
facts
You should try vanilla ds2. Iron keeps is genuinely so much better in vanilla
@@caspertheemoghost1482 I eventually just had to grind out all the enemies until they stopped respawning. After the first big room with the archers and Alonne Captains, it wasn't so bad
This is fantastic work, genuinely captivates the more you watch, I thoroughly enjoyed this, from the pacing, to script writing, I can tell you've got a grand future ahead of you. Keep creating, I look forward to more!
tyty, those are Very kind words
Man, this gave me genuine whiplash seeing you only had 295 subs and 2.5k views on this video. Might as well make that 296 subs! This was a really great video!
I keep getting these types of comments and it hits me right in the feels every time. TyTy!
The best way to counter sir Alonne's grab attack is to strafe it to the right. Just run right (Alonne's left side and it won't hit). Or have a ton of adp
Just got done watching the every achievement ds1, great content from a small creator, keep it up sun bro!
Fantastic video honestly, perfect balance between being informative and comedic
Big whoop I platinumed it and it was even my first one to finish.
It hasnt cured my depression but it instill the idea that banging my head against a brick wall that something will eventually break it.
lol!!!
I love how this franchise can just give life to so many CZcams Channels. I can't even count how many small channels gained a huge popularity boost from making an Dark Souls Analysis/Commentary/Achievement Hunt/Challenge Run. Maybe Souls fans are just that desperate for more content, idk. Good video though.
ty. I guess since the bar entry for most videos take a lot of effort people are willing to watch them? I'm honestly really surprised with the reception to this video
I'm currently on my way to 100% ds2 and your video is both mega helpful and super entertaining
You're awesome
Keep making more videos
i plan on it, thank you. Good luck

This is amazing! Hope you manage to growth, your content is really good so keep at it!
tyty, im trying
This is such a great and enjoyable video! You're gonna do great on this platform, if you keep up with this style of content. Subbed!
Fun fact: those lunges from sir alonne are meant to be roll-piercing grabs. However, the animation queueing doesn't interrupt the roll animation properly, causing the grab to be at the end of the roll. Try slashing next time you reach that fight, and see how the animation lags.
Dude when I glance at your subscriber count, I was incredibly surprised that you only have about 200 subs. New subscriber here. keep up the great work hopefully you make more souls content like this.

I know how grueling the achievement hunt is for the second game, done it quite some time ago. Mostly without a guide per se, just written down EVERYTHING i needed to get for the achievement, with some info on where to get the most cumbersome things. Good job on completing the game two times, although you missed the snowy fun house hehe

Only thing in DS2 i have left to do other than beat the final bosses on my 2nd playthrough is to collect the required amount of special souls to break all the ice in the dlc
Nice work! This reminded me that I need to 100% DS2 as well. :’)
This the best Dark souls imo, played it first and it truly has the best balance of, fun quirky gameplay and a load of secrets and interesting things that always make you look around and find something new
Please do one of these for the other games as well, you are so entertaining and interesting, i was sad when it was over, bit ups man
tyty I will be in between other games i wanna talk about
The whole situation with dark souls 2 reminds me a lot of the twilight princess situation. Both black sheep that were generally disliked on release, but with time people started looking past the flaws and saw what a truly special and great game they both are. Dark souls 2 and twilight princess are both my favorites in their series'.
Never played zelda past N64. Theres still a lot going right with DS2, visuals especially. I just dont think im at that point yet
damn youtube sometimes does give good recommendations. great video!
tyty
I remember 2 years ago playing the first quarter of dark souls 1 remastered with my buddy whose a fromsoft vet. Held my hand the whole time and we blitz through the two bells. Then stuff came up and we had to stop.
I came back to dark souls 2 which I bought years before when it went on sale but had to play alone since the servers were down. It was the hardest gaming experience of my life but I beat the game twice on new game + with two different characters. Being alone with no one to aid me and going fully blind was such a wild experience that I fell in love with scholar of the first sin.
I died so many times but I kept hacking away until I’d clear an area and use the souls to become stronger. I eventually got a copy for my younger brother so I could co op with him and get him use to souls games before elden ring. The games so much easier with two people but is also a really fun experience as I’d do a faith strength build while he became a hex dex warrior. He honestly liked the game a lot and looked forward to playing together as we fought each boss.
I love dark souls 2 for the teaching me to get gud and giving my brother and I a game to share.
Great video!
tyty
Doesn't help you now, but grinding the giant lord using bonfire ascetics is an easy and fast soulfarm. You end up getting 300k at max difficulty, more with soul boosting items, and it takes 3-4 minutes each run.
to each their own i guess, mines a lot more brain dead thats why i preferred it
Gotta LOVE unskippable end credits
So far the best DS2 video I've seen. I'm looking forward to new vids
tyty, im getting around to it
I’ll always hold a sweet spot in my heart for Dark Souls 2, it was my first and also helped me to make one of my life-long friends
Instead of watching your PC memory you can cast the miracle that reveals invaders. Still a horrible grind, though.
Honestly didn't even know that existed, my heart goes out to the xbox players that dont get an easy 'cheat' for that grind
Words can't describe how satisfying was to finally reach Wellager at Drangelic Castle to buy the remaining miracles and pyromancy after speedrunning NG++ and see the last achievements pop up one after another.
Awesome video
DS2 is a flawless masterpiece and you can’t convince me otherwise
Edit: I enjoyed the hell outta this, have a sub
tyty, i said this to someone else but i definitely went too hard on DS2 for this video
I'm not trying to convince you, but to me, it's a flawed masterpiece. It's my favorite of the 3 dark souls games, but I feel like it does have some flaws
Its definitely highly flawed
But I love this game to death
Currently I'm farming to get all the spells, miracles and piromancies so to get all the achivements
@@caspertheemoghost1482flaws that they should’ve fixed for Scholar instead of introducing more (blocking off a tutorial area? Why?)
Scholar overall just makes the game worse and 99% of the complaints are over that version. Some areas in vanilla have so few enemies you think “that’s it?”
I died so much on the dark lurker fight that the enemies on the side with Havel just stopped respawning.
Hey, does this apply to the sotfs edition too? Can i follow this guide for it? Just finished ds3 platinum with your guide, very much appreciated! The covenant grind though...
We found him, John Darksoul
That Linkara in the dark holy shit that got me good lmao
Alright man you've earned a sub
Honestly, respect for picking Deprived. It's definitely the most difficult in any of the games, and therefore more rewarding. At least in my opinion. Starting with essentially nothing and slowly gathering an arsenal as the game progresses will never get old, especially in this game
its a staple, what can i say
@@Migamations I'd definitely be interested in seeing what you could do with more Souls-borne-ekiro-ring content in the future. Maybe other achievement videos or modded playthroughs. Either way, keep up the good content. And I hope there was at least a bit of enjoyment for you with DS2... lol. It's still probably the weakest entry of the Fromsoft games of Demon Souls and beyond, but if you're the right type of crazy, I've still found it to be an enjoyable experience. (I am that type of crazy)
@@nexaverglas6760 for the love of god just call it souls
Honestly, getting every achievement in DS2 was a lot easier than some people made it out to be. Like, for a while I was under the impression it was near impossible because of how some of the covenants work but like, you don't have to level any of those because the true bro of Dark Souls, Ghosty McGhostface, has your back.

Pate: "Hey, careful with that gate there, it's definitely a trap. I wouldn't recommend you go in, but it's your call I guess"

Look, not saying he ISN'T a dick, but I never understood how that dialogue could ever be interpreted as "tricks".
Love your humor man😂

Tried getting all achievements for this one aswell. For some reason the looking glass knight and giligan achievement will not pop for me. Great video, did enjoy.

Is there anywhere a video of full playthrough? Some saved VOD or something?
I am so sorry you had to do this...at least there was eye contact🤣
lol
So you played this game with a guide? The fact that you didn't die to the Pursuer (he said his first real death happened in Heide's tower) and knew how to avoid his attacks, and how to chease Dragonrider make me think so.
i did use a guide, this is also like my 4th or 5th time beating the game
DS2 is easily my fav Dark Souls just because of the fact the story is actually understandable and the common person can piece together what is happening without creating fan theory.
There are a few items and methods that would have made your experience A LOT less painful:
-Whips can be used to break spitting statues and pots without getting too close. Does not consume anything (like throwing knives), you don't need to meet the stats, and the whip can be broken.
-bows. Specifically, you can put a fire infusion on a short bow, for minimal stat requirements, and then apply the fire effect to regular cheap arrows. Additionally, stock up on poison arrows, and cheese almost all of the regular enemies from a distance. The poison build up does not depend the bow's level
-small summon soapstone is the best, and it's sad it wasn't added to DS3 or Elden Ring. Allows you to be summoned into a player's world for a short amount of time without actually having to commit to beating the boss. If you successfully complete your mission, it's like having sat at a bonfire, but without respawning the enemies.
I'm currently replaying the game, and using the crown of the Old Iron King, I have turned myself into a mobile bonfire, being able to cast healing and repair, as well as weapon buffs. The crown restores 20% (rounded up) of your spells every 2 minutes. That's what I used when I did a no death/ no bonfire run on a NG+ character.
19:41 I had no idea this was a thing. I've never had that happen.
I find people enjoy or dont enjoy DS2 mostly based on how fast they like to play. DS2 has a LOT of enemies, but the vast majority of them are actually split up initially. People that like to run into areas aggro everything and once and then get frustrated by it thinking its intentionally bad design. Players that are more patient and kill every enemy as they go recognize the ambushes before they activate. I think it has the problem of being the second game with the same name, so people expect it to be more of the sake, when instead it's very experimental.
For example, if you actually enter Iron Keep slowly and wait for the enemies to come to YOU, you can easily pick them off one by one.
Are you going/planning to do a full DS3 achievement run and maybe even elden ring/sekiro c: ?
Good content very jolly
DS2 was my first souls game! I am a huge fan of the perma-clear feature; defeat an enemy 12 times and it won't respawn? GODSEND. No matter how many times I fall, if I take EVEN ONE enemy with me, I have made progress towards that safe, silent, empty level. Gave me a huge feeling of accomplishment and safety, when I can walk thru Iron Keep without getting knocked off narrow ledges.
Playing DS1 after, I got burnt out from always feeling unsafe in every level, constantly losing my souls because I dropped them further ahead of where I could reliably get back to... I felt punished for exploration, especially in the dark Catacombs and those skeleton-dogs. The long walks between areas like Bilghttown and Firelink, or between the first and second bonfire in Anor Londo, really made me get tired of the cool visuals.
On the other hand, I understand how DS1 players, trying to run thru DS2 areas and NOT perma-clear them, find the enemy hordes to be excessive. I don't think the DS2 design is horrible, I just think it requires patience and the intentional use of the perma-clear feature. The same way the pre-Lord-Vessel part of DS1 requires patience with ALL THE WALKING between areas, which I DID NOT have, lol.
I wanna say you could've cut down on the grind immensely by using bonfire ascetics but I think not having a plan and doing something like this is much more fun. Pretty good!
Are you working on a Ds3 all achievements vid? 👀
Hey same here! Yeah those offline covenant goals suck-ish. Luckily this game is easier the more you play it. I am on ng+4 right now. It's not the best, but still fun. Now I am going for ds1.
Fun vid man!
tyty, have fun with ds1!

Big DS2 fan, its my favourite of the series, and I still have never done all of the covenants stuff, since some of the are a pain.
I like how all the problems he has could be boiled down to "skill issue"
'i have life gems they cant hurt me'🤓 idk why but that line just killed me I cant stop laughing at it other than that it was an enjoyable video like always :>
thank you, David (the guy who said the joke) appreciates it as well!
For anyone watching this thinking of doing this and not looking forward to grinding sunlight medals:
Go to brightstone cave tseldora, knock down the towers with falconers, then run behind the wall and cast promised walk of peace. After that cast soul appease 2 or 3 times until all the falconers die. It's a bit more falconer kills/hr if you are willing to invest into int and faith.
Or beg someone online to do a DS2 run where they summon you for every boss using passwords and that one ring
Torch for spiders, they don’t attack if you have the torch out
Man made the guy from full metal alchemist
Probably semi-useless note but I've found Unveil method for farming that covenant phantom easier. I mean, you kinda have to evaporate enemies in the area 12 times but at least afterwards you will only deal with the bloody ladder when he actually spawns 😂
Definitely. I started with the ladder and ended up doing that and it was much better. You get into a nice rhythm. And with my magic build I could just strafe and one hit with that big ball spell (I’m bad with names) that goes through enemies. Didn’t even need to go around the fence. If your lucky you pierce the guy in the tent and get the one in front. Repeat, check every now and then for drops, ez vegetative state achieved.

bro had beef with the rotten
I love DS2. It expanded on the weapons and spells from DS1, souls were plentiful which I personally loved as it made the early-mid game more interesting, the durability system actually had a purpose because of how easily items break, and the best hub of any FromSoft game. Don’t get me wrong the enemies and bosses are pretty damn lackluster, and the map is more or less shit. But I still enjoyed it a lot.
I love this game. Lots of points i would change thou.
And yes the credits for scholar are in the original too :)

If anyone has the OG version for ps3(not SOTFS) if you go to Majula and go behind the world death count statue(if messages can still appear) can someone tell me if the message that says “visions of happiness” is still there?.. it’s my message and I wrote that the day my mother died..this was the only game she watched me and my brother beat and it holds a special place in my heart. Love it!
Shrine of Amana and iron keep get way easier if you use these special, mythical items called RANGED WEAPONS.
Dark souls 2 has regular bows that scale off of strength, and crossbows are easy to find and can be used in the offhand easily, there's no excuse or reason not to use one other than foolishness or stubbornness.
Seriously though, bow in your second main weapon slot, or crossbow in your offhand and 1-handing your main weapon, and this game is much less difficult, especially iron keep/amana
