Hell Hole mine Entrance leads to massive caverns

Out for the 2nd 2 day trip in Wales, returning to an area I've visited before. In the video we explore a lesser known mine often overlooked in favour of the mine of Caverns across the valley.

How do they go about mining such huge areas.with square set and do they remove it afterwards or its rotted away.or maybe they use machinery to do this.quite amazing to see this thanks for the great video

@my81shovelhead the slate was mined from the top originally and then worked downwards. The slate was removed from the caverns via winches, then out of the mine on rails with carts.
