The Opening to this game was brutal. The Kid crying for his family after they are Shot. OMG.. To bad this series didn't keep up the steam.
Yea that specific scene bothered me a lot when i played. I'm adopted, my birth parents were beyond terrible. So whenever i hear a kid cry or see a movie of a kid in distress it bothers me greatly. That scene made me quit playing the game for a while.

My dad was a refugee from Pyongyang when he was a kid. When he bought this game for me, he sat with me a couple times to watch me play. He pointed out that the Korean used in the game is accurate to the subtle differences between North and South Korean speech.

Homefront MP was kinda nutty. It had the custom kill streak system where you could cash in points to access some crazy vehicles and artillery at any point of the match. So you would have people running heavy shit at the end of matches to see who could big dick the other team harder.

Multiplayer was a blast
I always felt the teamwork was often more involved than the majority of MP FPSs. I remember this one glitch though where I was invisible but still able to get kills. It was so funny lol.

I actually remember playing this game because of its opening cutscene. Everything else was a blur but at least it was better than it’s sequel.

I heard somewhere (not sure if it’s true) that the enemy faction was supposed to be China, but they scrapped that idea in fear of their game getting banned there even though the story would’ve been a little more believable if China stayed the villain
The Red Dawn remake did the same thing. Which is funny because according to the Wikipedia page for that movie it was never released there anyway.

I miss this game’s multiplayer, it was actually quite good imo. Felt like it had the scale of a Battlefield game but with CoD’s killstreaks

Used to play the multiplayer for hours. It was actually pretty good but if you didn't get used to dealing with the tanks/helicopters you were in for a bad time lol

i was in a 7 man multiplayer lobby last week it was so fun playing this again.
I remember playing the multiplayer on launch. Was far more fun than CoD or Battlefield or Halo. Honestly if they saw how well people talked about the multiplayer at the time and did a MP only spinoff instead of a sequel to an incredibly bland story they could have carved out their own little small but successful niche.

I sadly loved this game as a child it’s amazing to come back and see another’s perspective.
This game brings back a lot of memories... I was young at the time and my family was poor but my mother had a old PC she gave to me and I had a friend who showed me this site/application called OnLive it was a gaming streaming platform and they had this game i would play it for hours or as long as the trial period would let me as well as some other games.. Good times sadly OnLive was shutdown
The only thing I remember about Homefront is that it ends with a big bridge fight, you lay in a mass grave, and it's about 3 hours long

My mom and dad, either the time this came out or right before, they saw a clip of the bus scene and the video they watched was titled something like "If North Korea wins against America" or whatever. I immediately realized it looked like a game, but still believing it was a representation of what would've happened if North Korea won against America until I watched this video. Thank you for confirming my suspicion that the video was just a clip from a game.

Honestly both were great games for different niches. Lived the MP of the first and second, but second had a better single player and fun storyline.

Might be one the most forgotten first-person shooters and a generation with a sea of first-person shooters.
I remember thinking how cool it sounded, then it got bad reviews basically all around and I never tried it. I care alot less about what reviewers say now, but I was a dumb teenager, so I had to follow the hype.
Homefront was really good. The multiplayer was fantastic. It had so many great mechanics and design choices (different drone types to use, vehicle streaks including tanks and helicopters, and a killstreak system that prevented camping by marking the player on a streak to more and more players as they get more kills. It also helped feed the player kills by sending people towards them.) All in all it was a great game that ended up getting a disappointing sequel that failed to use anything the original made.

I remember playing this when it came out, got half way through the game, my save got corrupted or something, lost all my progress and returned it to Blockbuster. Then went back to playing Black Ops.
I played Homefront on release and the game was fun. The pointstreaks were kind of annoying but the game was fun.
Finally, they put Stuart Little in Red Dawn. Wolverines will always find their way back to the Little House!

Game so old my father got it for me from Gamefly. I played through it so many times...I was never able to play it online though. Guess the servers got canned. But damn to intro cinematic and sequence still give me chills.
